We stayed there for a week, we chose it because of location-which is very good, walking distance to all main attraction of Sulthanamet. Polite staff ,quick check in. Room was a bit small and noisy too(603) You can literally here other guest conversation, taking shower etc. then pack a ear plugs, that's what I do anyway. Breakfast was ok, nothing...

When reading TA reviews on the Amira before leaving the UK (our son had booked it for us as a Christmas surprise) we wondered if it really could be as good as nearly all past reviewers had said it was in their experience. But, yes, it is! From the moment we arrived we were made so welcome by Sim, the...

We stayed in this hotel for 7 days. It was in a great position to all the tourist attractions. The room we had was a good size. The staff were so friendly and helpful and breakfast was excellent. We had dinner on the terrace and the waiter was one of the best and most polite I have met in Turkey....

My wife and I arrived at 06.00 hrs after an overnight flight from Joburg and we were given a room to freshen up in and breakfast and we hadn't even checked in!!! The staff were brilliant - friendly, helpful and attentive. Location wise, we could not have chosen a better hotel, even at double the price. The roofgarden became a...

This boutique hotel was such a surprise for us. The service was the equivalent to a 5 Star hotel. The concierge Tina actually took us up to the beautiful rooftop deck to give us advice on where to go and what to do while in Istanbul. She spent at least 20-30 minutes with us. I didn't even get that at...

My husband and I stayed at the Amira for three nights and loved our stay! Upon our arrival Tina took us up to the rooftop and served us complimentary beverages while showing us a map of the city. She took her time explaining where the hotel was in relation to the historic sites, recommended places to dine (and not) and...

Perhaps I am searching for a point of criticism of this hotel which consistently gets excellent reviews. It certainly is in a great location, the staff are wonderful (friendly, helpful, efficient) and our room was very well appointed, clean and comfortable. The roof terrace is a delightful place to have a drink and enjoy the view. But, while the breakfast...

Amazing check in / out service. Room was fantastic and all the staff were so friendly. The breakfast was one of the best I've had. I would book this hotel in a heartbeat again, if only Istanbul wasn't so far from Australia! Can't wait to go back!!

Excellent service, accommodating and friendly staff. Our room was modern, spacious, with every amenity, we loved the roof terrace with it's fantastic view over the sea, and the complimentary afternoon tea was a real bonus. We would definitely stay at the Amira again.

This hotel is awesome, the rooftop terrace has the best views, the SERVICE is awesome, the room was delightful and the location just brilliant! Would highly recommend it to anyone. You can't go wrong with them - breakfast, hailing cabs, posting mail - the list goes on.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
