I can not say enough wonderful things about this hotel. We stayed three nights and I wish we could have stayed longer. I wanted a hotel in Sultanamhet that had transport to and from the airport, breakfast and wifi. They met all my requirements. I booked the Cultural Package standard room and they upgraded our room to a corner deluxe....

We had a fantastic stay there. Firstly, they allowed us to check in early after we arrived at 8am. The porter took our luggage up which was very nice considering we had a 12 hour flight. After we freshened up, they gave us a nice guide of Istanbul, highlighting the best attractions and restaurants around. The hotel is literally 5...

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and would not hesitate in returning for 2 main reasons. It is within walking distance of most of the top tourist sites, close to excellent restaurants, and has great views from the terraces. So the location is ideal. Then the breakfast: The choice of food is varied, excellent quality and abundant. The...

My friend found this place for our Istanbul visit. I knew he would pick a good place, but Hotel Amira exceeded my expectations. If it's within a travelers budget, I strongly recommend it. Location is perfect if you want to stay in "old" Istanbul, the room and beds very comfortable, staff super professional, and you cannot beat the traditional Turkish...

First time visit to Istanbul & we chose the Amira hotel based on previous trip advisor reviews. We were not disappointed. We arrived at 6am...ish & allowed to check in early. Slept for a few hours & were given a complimentary breakfast (A lovely gesture thanks to Emre👍). One of the quirks of this building is that some of the...

We only had about 24 hours in Istanbul, but I wish we had longer to spend at Hotel Amira! The staff was so welcoming and incredibly helpful, the hotel is beautiful and clean, the rooftop is gorgeous, and the breakfast buffet (7.30-10.30) was great. Our room was perfectly spacious and so well-decorated. We were on the ground floor and slept...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
