It was our first visit to Istanbul and we chose to stay at Agora for 6 nights because of the great reviews on TA, the hotel exceeded our expectations. In terms of location, it is very close to all the major spots in the city. It is 10 minutes away from the tram station - a 10 minute tram ride...

Fabulous location and wonderful staff. They had a recommendation for everything we asked them for and had good insight for what to see in Istanbul. The hotel was within a 10 minute walk of most things and near a train stop for the others (like the Spice Bazaar). We spent every night on the terrace, which had a great view...

This hotel is fantastic. We were impressed from the moment we arrived at this centrally located hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious, modern and clean with beautiful views of the Bosphorus and city. The breakfast was excellent. Free wifi throughout. Stunning view from a roof top terrace. All compliments. Don't hesitate to book there.

For a last minute booking decision in Istanbul we couldn't have gotten any luckier. We were warmly greeted by Kadir, who is a genuinely kind and generous host with lots of personal insight about the city. He continued to be gracious and helpful throughout our stay, which was 5 nights in total. The hotel is in a central location, making...

we have spent 5 nights here and it was a nice experience from the time of arrival until the morning of departure. Very helpful and knowledgable staff. The only 'disadvantage' is to have to take your (excellent) breakfast from subbase to the terrace, if you want to be outside. And it is worth to go and have your breakfast there...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
