I loved my stay at Pera!!! The rooms are small...but cozy. Hot showers, comfy beds.....with lots of pillows! And they have free WiFi!!! The staff was great...very helpful and friendly. The hotel is also right behind a very lively and popular street, it is also close to the subway that takes you right into the Sultan Ahmet area (abt 15mins...

Nice location, just about 200 meters away from the main street in Taksim. The hotel is really small - maybe about 20 rooms only and did not have a lot of visitors at the time we were there. The staff is polite and friendly, but they can work on improving their English. The rooms are also quite small and the...

The Pera Hotel has wonderful service and beautiful rooms at a great price. Our beds were super comfortable (and I loved the spotless white comforters). The showers were hot, and breakfast (yummy breads, cereal, hard boiled eggs, cucumbers, olives, cheese, juice/coffee/tea) is served every morning. The hotel has free wireless access and a computer for guests to use in the...

hotel is new, very clean, the stuff is great. There are many restaurants and shops around hotel, 1 min on foot from Istiklal Street and you can also walk to the old part of the city - it takes about 25 min. If you don't like this idea you can use Tunnel or metro, the stations are just in front...

This is a cozy small hotel, located in the trendy Pera district. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to enjoy the clubs, cafes and restaurants in this area. It can get loud on Friday and Saturday nights, but if you are out and about it might as well. If you are the kind of person that enjoys large...

I stayed at the Pera Hotel in November, 2009. It was a very enjoyable experience. For a hotel which is located in the Beyoglu area, it is value for money. Just a two-minute walk to the Tunel and more importantly to the heart of Istanbul, Istiklal Caddesi (Taksim). The staff is friendly and willing to answer all of your questions....

This was our fifth time in Istanbul and this hotel was a really good value for the money. The location is great - right next to Istiklal Cad., one of Istanbul's most fashionable streets. The bathrooms are really small but very clean. The hotel is brand new and was missing certain amenities claimed to have - such as WiFi or...

Rarely ever do I book in a hotel that is not listed with Trip Advisor. The Pera Hotel was not at the time I made the arrangements, because it was brand new. I decided to give it a shot though, exactly because it was brand new, and the price (at 68 euro per room per night) sounded quite tempting. Thankfully,...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.

“Ask for the 7th floor rooms you will have light and a little view, lower floors can be noisy as there is an active night life in the area.”

“Upper floor rooms are riccomandable because Istambul is generally very loud. There are only 2 rooms with view on the 6th floor, if these are occupied, I'd riccomand rooms in the back side of the htel as they are a bit larger quieter and darker for a better sleep. Windows have no shutter nor thik curtains: bring with you a blindfold or you'll wake up with the sun.”
