I won't forget the people I met here during my three week stay. There is a real feeling of community and this is definitely thanks to the staff who are always looking out for the guests. People congregate in the roof bar area at breakfast and random hours of the day and night, it's easy to find someone to explore...

A newly renovated hotel with nice interior, very clean and fresh, the hotel is very close to both the Marmara Sea and the historic district of Sultan Ahmed (5 min by walk), walking distance even to Eminonu Square where you can take the boat or bus to almost all of Istanbul both Asian side and the European side, very close...

I stayed at Harmony Hostel for two weeks during April/May 2015. It is VERY well located and within walking distance to all the major Istanbul landmarks. The staff are friendly and helpful (except for the Georgian cleaning lady who needs a serious attitude and work ethic adjustment!). The cleanliness of the hostel bathrooms are not the greatest but once again...

The top floor room sucks. It doesn't lock. The staff have a lot of tools in the closet in the room. There was one staff member using the storage below one bed. People come and go in the top floor room. The ceiling leaked and soaked one bed. The shower drain didnt work, etc. The mosque call to prayers are...

Nice clean room. Great location. It's near convenient shops and good dining. Affordable price. A 5-10 min (uphill) walk to blue mosque and the sights. Would happily stay again. Our room had a nice little balcony as well. Rooms are a tad small. But with the price, I can't complain.

The staff are very nice and friendly, BUT the place is dirty. ICHY after you sleep dirty. I booked and paid for 2 nights and I left after one night. The breakfast had day old bread and packaged butter and cheese. If you ever have been to Turkey, you know this is below the standard even for hostels

We stayed here for 1 night after arriving late into Istanbul. They had waited up for us, and the guy on reception welcomed us in. He was new to the job so took a while to check in which is understandable. The cleanliness of the place needs a bit more work, as does the maintenance of basic facilities such as...

Absolutely do NOT stay here if you want to get a good night's sleep in a clean and hospitable atmosphere. If you are welcome to: dirty floors, rusted appliances, no water pressure in the shower whatsoever, no hot water in the sink, a shower that FLOODED the entire bathroom after one use, toilet and sink that leaks out the bottom,...

Great location near all the main tourist attractions (Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, Ayia Sofia, Blue Mosque), friendly staff, all at a super affordable price. Would recommend to anyone wanting to go to Istanbul!

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
