I like this place first of all couse of comfortable atmosphere. Of couse its a hostel so alot of minuses will be here - not all time hot water, sometimes low internet connection, not perfect cleaning. But the most important thing when you coming to defferent country - its how people comunicate to you. Its perfect friendly place. If you...

This hostel is exactly what you expect for the price, except it is so close to all the main sites in Istanbul, is easy to get to and from the airports, because of the close metro station and a great roof terrace. The people running the place are very friendly and helpful, especially Guaita who walked us to an incredible...

This inexpensive Hostel is right in the middle of the main attractions in Istanbul. The views from the roof terrace are really great, especially at night. The place is clean and comfortable and they always have an interesting lot of fellow guests. Ah, showers were bit old, but there was a hot water running all time - great as it...

We liked this place a lot. Big dorms, but clean and with luggage storage under the bed, so good to keep valuable things there when you asleep. They also have safe locks. Shower is really good. The rooftop terrace is great, romantic and an outstanding place for meeting other travellers. Breakfast is really good. Go book there!

Best location! Right next to Sultanahmet Square. Ahmed and Ghaits were very understanding with our date changes!  Istanbul feels super safe. Would definitely recommend!  Can see the Blue Mosque from the hostels roof terrace!

Not only is the place cheap and affordable but the people are great. Helped us arrange boat tours at great prices, and one of the volunteers even cooked for us breakfast and dinner on a daily basis. He even taught me how to re-create the dishes after I showed my interest in them. We all hung out , listened to...

This hostel offers a great value for what it offers with a reasonable breakfast and really big dorms, most of them with no bunk beds which is awesome for a hostel. The amenities were being renewed at the time, so let's hope for improvements mainly in the bathrooms and common area. The staff is always willing to help and at...

When I visited it was very low-season! The location was amazing. I could walk EVERYWHERE. Less than 1 minute to the nearest tram station (which brings you everywhere for only less than a 1 euro per trip). 3 mins walk to Tokapi palace. 10 minutes walk to Blue Mosque/Aya Sofia. Because it isn't in a very touristy location, it was...

At first glance, we weren't sure about this hostel, but with time the staff and location won us over. The rooms aren't much to speak of, and the WiFi really only worked in the lobby - not a hangout friendly spot. But the location!! So close to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sofia, and waterfront. Staff was also great - Aksu...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
