Location was perfect, close to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia, as well as to Sultanahmet tram station. But tram is not necessary, all interesting sight are available within walking distance. Breakfast was OK, beautiful view from the terrace. Good restaurants nearby. Excellent for that price.

This was my second time visiting this hotel with its wonderful staff. It was a easy choice to return to this hotel, it is located pretty near to the sultan ahmet square. It is up hill to the square but ist so worth, the hotel is nice with a great staff who have been more like family than staff. It...

We had four amazing fun packed days in Istanbul. Everyone was wonderful at the Grand Peninsula, and Ramazan was amazing!! They arranged airport transportation, a Turkish bath, gave us pointers on getting to Istiklal. The night before we were supposed to leave the coup attempt in July 2016 happened--and they let us know it was happening and helped us get...

Very good small hotel in the center of Sultanahmet area, only few meters from Haghia Sophia, Blue Mosque and tram station. Hotel has perfect location to reach the airport. The stuff was really nice and friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, especially fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. Excellent value for the price we paid :)

My husband Alam and I were looking for a super clean, comfortable and reasonably priced b&b right in the heart of Sultanahmet.. so we set out to find one. After a lot of search we found Grand Peninsula hotel and it was perfect for us. We spent almost 8 days there and didn't regret it even once. The staff was...

The location of this hotel can't be beat-right in the Sultanahmet area within 5 minute walking distance to the tram, the Blue Mosque, and the Hagia Sophia. The roof is perfectly as well, as a quiet place to look at the sea while enjoying the complementary breakfast. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and simple-exactly what I was looking for....

First, the location is quite ideal as the hotel is located in the Sultanahmet area within 5 minute walking distance to the tram, the Blue Mosque, and the Hagia Sophia. And its roof is perfectly situation to provide views over the sea while you enjoy the complementary breakfast. I would recommend going up to the roof in the evening as...

We read mixed review of this hotel, but went ahead with it - Clean basic room comfortable bed, a double bed, gray worn out towel but clean, 501 facing East with direct access to roof top sitting, stairs are narrow and steep, no elevator. Excellent wifi, water pressure, excellent staff - everyone, basic breakfast but good - terrible coffee like...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
