The location, service and facilities at this hotel were really great. The bed was a little hard and sheets a little short but other than that we had a nice room and it is a place I would happily book again. No elevator but you only need to walk one or two flights of stairs with a lovely rooftop breakfast... More

Our stay in Istanbul was great and Berce cosy hotel was the right choice. The owner of the hotel was always available to satisfy any request. The staff was kind and able to help us. Our double room at ground floor was very large also for three persons. We stayed with our 5 years old child and we hadn't to... More

Both the hotel and the staff exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt that the hotel managers, Mehmet and Serkan, genuinely appreciated our business, and they did everything possible to make us feel welcome and at ease. The hotel is in a great location - on a quiet side street but only a few minutes walk to... More

This hotel lives up to its reputation - it is a great value, great location and great service hotel. The 24 hr reception staff go out of their way to assist with any queries (when we checked out of the hotel I needed a bag stored for a week - they were happy to do this even though I wasn't... More

Our stay in Istanbul was made all the more special because of the lovely Berce hotel. Our room was in the basement, with a double bed and 2 comfortable singles. Mehmet the manager explained we could also use the adjoining space outside our room for luggage as the room itself is ideal for 3 persons. This was a great bonus... More

In a city of many hotels especially in the Sultanahmet area, this hotel is a real gem and a bargain. The staff is truly exceptional and very pleasant, kind and helpful. The rooms are large for the rates charged, very clean, nicely designed and fitted. Room 105 has three balconys and a nice sitting area near a window. The bathroom... More

We spent 3 days at the Berce hotel in May and, unfortunately, experienced different service from others who have contributed reviews. The hotel is very well situated for visits to the Blue Mosque and other attractions and our room was clean and comfortable. We had tea and coffee making facilities in our room but the tea and coffee was never... More

Our stay in April at the Berce Hotel was fantastic. Mehmet and his staff made our time most enjoyable. Before our arrival in Istanbul, Mehmet was great to communicate with by email and arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport. We were met outside baggage claim and it made it so much easier than trying to... More

Quite impressed by this sweet hotel. Very clean, helpful staff, and convenient location (though you will walk up a decent hill to get to the Blue Mosque). Unfortunate that construction across the street blocks lower level views...and they have a very sweet outdoor dog for a neighbor!

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
