My wife and I stayed in this hotel for three nights in October 2013. Its location is just excellent, surrounded by small streets with restaurants and shops, ten minutes walk from Aya Sofia. The location is a bit noisy but it gets more or less silent by midnight. The room was small but comfortable, with a big comfortable bed, excellent...

My friend and I were in a pinch looking for a hotel on short notice, having arrived in Istanbul on the day of the riots and needing to change our accommodation to Sultanahmet. I walked over to the property from another hotel, and was immediately shown the best remaining room, which fit our requirements. This small hotel was well located,...

Excellent hotel, friendly and helpful staff, and comfortable rooms. Lovely location in the old town. Wifi doesn't work in the room, only in the restaurant area, but other than that, it was a great stay.

The hotel is really in the centre, very lovely place. Nice breakfast, friendly people who are wording here. The hotel is like a little emuseum, so beautiful . The only negatieve thing is that you hear when you neighbours arrive. The wooden floor makers really a lot of noice. But yeh, it's part of the design of the house

A lovely hotel in a very nice location close to all the main attraction. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Murat and Mehmet who made the stay very special. A nice breakfast selection in the morning and the rooms are very clean and cozy with a nice bathroom.

The hotel is located in the Sultan Ahmet district within 5 min walking distance to Blue Mosque. Rooms are nice (except the ones from the ground flow, poor light), with well equiped and cleam bathrooms. The floors crack a little bit and some time in the night can be a little bit scary, but it is ok. Breakfast is ok,...

I have been there during 2010. Not too late to express my feelings about Erten Konak. Its location is great. Nearby everything that has historical interest. Within walking distance. You can also easily take the public transportation to visit the center of Istanbul like Taxim square or the museum of modern art. We were feeling safe to walk through the...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
