Stayed at Sinbad hostel twice - 2006 and 2007. Rooms weren't nice, simple 6 bed dormitory with almost no equipment. Bathroom was in terrible condition, only cold water. OK, now some warm words... hostel is situated in perfect location, just a few steps from Blue Mosque. Althought conditions weren't good at all, I must say I quite like my stay...

So we stayed in the Sinbad Hostel for 3 nights. Let's start with the good things: The breakfast is good, we didn't got an egg anywhere else and the view from the terrace was nice. We slept in a dorm and the size of the room was okay. What we didn't like: The WC is soo narrow. It was nearly...

This place was awful! Noisy and busy and unfriendly. The guy who served us when we arrived was such a jerk (we would have walked out but everywhere was full), and we genuinely thought he might have been drunk (didn't answer our questions properly, laughed at us when we asked what time was checkout). My bed had dirt in it...

I stayed twice in this hostel in istanbul. one time back in 2003 and it was not peak season so hostel was OK - somehow clean and taken care of. But, unfortunately i came back in 2011 and all toilets were disgusting. I just didn't want to take a shower or enter any toilet in any floor. Breakfast is taken...

i reserved the dorm beds by phone and email. but when i reached, the owner was courteous but gave us tripple room. there was a bit of uneasiness but it worked. the free breakfast was nice at the roof top in march, with a nice view of the marmara sea. the proximity to hagia sophia, topkapi, and other places makes...

It is located near Blue Mosque just walking from 5 minute. You can make your travel within only 10 minute around from here. This is old hostel, but clean enough : you should know that this hostel is 10 years old and 10 euro per one night. Despite of that, air conditioner and heater is furnished, 24 hour hot shower...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
