We stayed just a couple nights, but had a great stay. Comfortable rooms, attentive staff that gives you space. Good breakfast spread in the morning. On a quiter side street, close to everything in Old City, and close to transit to other parts. Our room was directly under the breakfast area on the 5th floor, so it got a little...

We stayed two nights in Osmanhan Hotel, but we were very satisfied with the hotel. The room we had was smallish, just behind the reception, but nonetheless quiet, clean and with all facilities. We were offered to change the room (for a small price difference), but didn't do it since we just slept there. The breakfast is fair, on a...

We stayed for three nights based on previous reviews that we had read on trip advisor and were glad we did. They organised an airport pick up for us and after check in gave us maps and a rundown of the sights and the local area. Our room was clean and furnished in traditional style, with good aircon and a...

The Osmanham is a very good family run small hotel in the historic centre of Istanbul, a very short walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the Topkapi Palace. There's a warm welcome and the rooms are very clean and cool (good, quiet air conditioning). There's a marvellous view across the Bosphorus from their roof terrace where we thoroughly...

We spent a couple of days, since we were planning to flight to Cappadocia. The hotel is located in a very strategic position, so close to all the main historic gems of Istanbul; the staff is extremely kind and friendly, the hotel is absolutely clean and comfortable, and the terrace for breakfast offers a beatiful view of the city (and...

We spent five nights here at the end of July when it was Ramadan and very hot and hectic outside but inside was a haven of peace, quiet, and coolness. The small staff,Elknar,Mechmet and the housekeeping and breakfast staff, were kind, helpful and always pleasant. Elknar's English is excellent;he's very proud of it. The hotel has no fancy lounges or amenities except for a...

I stayed at Osmanhan Hotel 3 nights and loved this tiny and cozy boutique hotel. It's very clean always, comfortable. Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, Topkapi Palace and other spots are very close. And, the most attractive point of Osmanhan is the sea-view terrace, in which they serve breakfast with well-selected cheeses, olives, fresh fruits, vegetables and good-taste coffee and tea....

We spent two nights here in late July 2013. The owners and staff are very nice, speak excellent English, and were always ready to help with information or a tip on where to go. It is in a great location in the old town, and has a very nice rooftop terrace for watching the sunset. We sat there and had...

This lovely hotel is situated in Istanbul, very close to many great places for tourists to visit. One of my favorite thing while staying there was the cozy feeling it had, mainly due to the staff, that was really friendly. The rooms are cute, clean, comfortable, and they had TVs with cable channels. We also had wireless high speed Internet...

We stayed here for a short break in early July. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with good air con, but the biggest plus is the hotel's central location and fantastic views from its rooftop/breakfast terrace. You look one way over the minarets of the Blue Mosque and the other over the waters of the Sea of Marmara. The hotel...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
