This place is terrible. Cramped and poorly maintained bathrooms, tiny rooms, lumpy beds, little to no hot water mostly and pretty ordinary breakfast. We were in a tour group and we all got sick at this place. The Antioch is a sisfer hotel across the road and looks same but we didbt stay there.

This place is old and run down. While the staff seemed friendly enough and the location was excellent, the only good thing about our room was that the shower had hot water. Otherwise, it definitely needs some love and attention to make it average. I'd take a pass if you're willing to spend a little more money.

We stayed at the Antioch Hotel as we were starting and finishing an Intrepid tour from the Hatay Hotel and read the recommendation that Antioch is slightly better than the Hatay. Our first room was on the 5th floor, clean but tiny and old bathroom with a view over the back alley. On return from the Intrepid tour our day...

I stayed at the Antioch across the street as part of my tour group. I came in 3 days early and very late at night there was no complications with my check in. I had a very small single room but it was clean and cleaned daily. It had everything I needed. Breakfast was standard fare nothing fancy but nothing...

We booked Antioch Hotel which is across the street and we were referred to Hatay Hotel. Pro: *Good and strategic location to Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, Yerebatan Sarayi, Museum of Archeology, Topkapi Sarayi, Small Aya Sophia, Grand Bazaar, very close to tram stops of Gulhane and Sirkeci that bring us everywhere in Istanbul and ferry port of Eminonu. *Friendly and...

My partner and i had joined an intrepid tour, and stayed at the Hatay hotel the night before our trip commenced. The rooms were basic, however they were clean. The showers - like most of the others we stayed at in Turkey - were leaking! The shower recess leaked heaps and we spent quite a bit of time trying to...

We visited Istanbul a week ago, 2 adults and 2 kids,we stayed at Antioch - Hatay hotel for 6 days. This hotel is an excellent choice if you want to be in the center. All the main sites to visit are 10 to 25 minutes on foot. If you wish to use public transport, to visit distant location, this hotel...

I booked a room for a single person and it was quite small. If your solo on a budget this is a good choice, but book the double room if you can afford the small price upgrade. I saw the double rooms and should have booked that. The Location is great, an Elevator a plus, loved the Coffee Machine, you...

The Hatay & Antioch Hotels were the best hotels in Sirkeci. We thoroughly enjoyed the great hospitality, spacious and luxurious rooms and a great spread of breakfast. The Managers, Cetin and Tekin Fakiroglu and the rest of the hotel team were absolutely so professional, friendly and courteous and gave us the best individual attention in ensuring that our every need...

It's my second time in this hotel. I prefer it cause of its location (nearby transportation and monuments). The staff is very friendly, they just make the stay awesome. Although breakfast need a bit of change.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
