I stayed for 4 nights in Suite 61 (6th/top floor), which had a fabulous terrace that overlooked both the local neighbourhood as well as the Bosporus. The discount I was given for the King Suite with Terrace was too good to miss out on. The hotel is just the right size; neither big and impersonal nor small and casual. Just...

The Witt Hotel is very small and personal. Each floor has three or four large, very modern suites. Mine had a great bathroom with rain shower. A large bar-kitchen area off the bedroom, and a balcony from which I would sip a cocktail while listening to the call to prayer echo over Istanbul. The hotel is at the top of...

We have just spent 3 nights here in room 52 with a stunning view.We thought Hong Kong harbour views were superb but the historic views over the Golden Horn to the Mosques and palaces above are fantastic and the waterways just as busy. The staff couldn't have been nicer and we had a superb breakfast each day. The weather is...

Just returned from a great trip to Istanbul. We were enthusiastically greeted at the Witt with an upgrade to room 62 thus making a great start straightaway to our holiday. The room itself was lovely, spacious and we were delighted with an amazing view across the Golden Horn spanning the Topkapi Palace, the Hagia Sofia, the Blue mosque and the...

Stayed here for a long weekend in Feb 12. Hotel is perfect, got an upgrade to room 61, corner suite on top floor, which has fantastic views over the city. Location is great, we went everywhere on foot, major sights within walking distance. Excellent breakfast and staff is very friendly and helpful. Nothing but praise for this hotel, perfect, loved...

I have to say I've never experienced service like this. Loved the staff at the Witt - they are totally helpful and informative. The hotel is great. The steep hill that everyone goes on about is fine and good exercise for one's bottom! Large rooms - very comfortable. No baths which was a bit sad (just showers) but this was...

We chose this hotel to end our 3 week tour of Turkey. We had already had 3 days in Sultanahmet at the beginning of our trip and decided that Beyoglu would give us anouther dimension of Istanbul. Furthermore we wanted something hip and luxe. Witt suites met all the criteria. Our suite was on the 5th floor and despite it...

The first thing we noted about the Witt was the very sincere welcome at checkin and that sincerity continued with every interaction with every staff member. This hotel is in a great location near Taksim Square (just a 15 min walk) but far enough away from the noise. The hotel is very contemporary with large oversized rooms and our's #42...

We have travelled a lot over the last years and we have stayed in quite some beautiful hotels all over the world. When it came to choosing a hotel in Istanbul, our choice was quickly made (thanks to the great reviews here on Tripadvisor). So what can we say about the Witt Istanbul Suites? GORGEOUS! The rooms are very large,...

I have stayed at most of the 5 star hotels in the city. Witt's location is great: it is close to the old town, at the heart of the galleries and museums and 5 minutes by car to the night life. So more or less everything that I am looking for since restaurants are scattered all around the city. (but...

Staying in Beyoglu

Neighbourhood Profile
Beyoglu
Istanbul’s most famous street, pedestrianized Istiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue), throbs day and night and offers a fantastic array of architectural sights, shops, treats, and throngs upon teeming throngs of people. At the avenue’s northeastern end is expansive Taksim Square, thought by many to be the very heart of the city, with many of Turkey’s most renowned restaurants and some of Europe’s most happening nightlife in close proximity. In striking contrast, Beyoglu’s less trafficked areas – such as the affluent Cihangir and the antiques district of Cukurcuma – exude Old World charm and provide contemplative calm and splendid diversion via an assortment of cozy cafes, attractive boutiques, and quiet lanes.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Witt Istanbul Suites has an excellent location within walking distance from Istanbul's business district, Istanbul Modern museum and the buzzing bars and boutiques of both Beyoglu and Cihangir. All 15 suites span a generous 60m2. They are popular for long-stay guests as each has a Carrera marble-clad kitchenette with microwave, fridge and Nespresso machine. The super-cool beds with curved headboards and the laptop desks have been especially designed for Witt Istanbul Suites by Autoban. Sheets and towels were also commissioned from Denizli, a famous purveyor of Turkish linen. Cable TV, an excellent DVD collection, ipod docks and a welcome gift of multi-coloured macaroons are indulgent touches. But it's the bathrooms that make these suites really special. The ergonomic Corian sinks with pebble-shaped handles and the cluster of shower-heads that create a cocoon of misty hot water are all from designer Ross Lovegrove's Istanbul collection from Vitra. ... more   less
