We were in Istanbul on our own before joining a tour. We had picked the Adamar because of the good communication with the manager, great location and price. Transportation was provided from the airport with a three night stay and it was good and on time. One of the rooms I booked was small but much like large cities over...

The location was walking distance to most of the major sights in Sultanahmed. It is also close to a tram stop, restaurants and shops. The rooms were small but comfortable. Transportation from the airport was included when you reserved for 3 nights. Views from the rooftop restaurant were thrilling. We were allowed to leave our luggage in the hotel's locked...

This was my third visit to Istanbul and my second stay at the Adamar and I was not disappointed. I booked this hotel again because my stay last time was so enjoyable. Other than some of the hotel staff changing since 6 months ago, you will not be disappointed. The rooms were just as nice and the service was just...

All the sights are in walking distance from this hotel. It is clean, modern and the staff were very polite and friendly. On booking in there had been an administrative error and we spent the first night in the hotels annexe which although the rooms were small had been recently upgraded. The manager was very apologetic and gave us a...

Great location within walking distance of many key sights and a range of bars and restaurants. Rooftop restaurant had amazing views, a romantic atmosphere, good food and the staff were friendly. We were upgraded to a corner room which was faultless. Reception staff were very helpful and the whole experience was excellent value for money in what is now becoming...

Negatives: Yes there is some noise from outside a times - mainly traffic and not all the time - no noise from revellers at night though. More noise from adjacent shower/WC and females being a little vocal! The size of the one lift can be a problem especially if you have lots of suitcases and you are trying to make...

Hotel Location = excellent The room= excellent The unforgettable view is priceless breakfast with those views. I'm from Barcelona and I always thought my town was very pretty. Fantastic location for sights, restaurants, shops, tram line and a beautiful & ancient Hamam. Good room (although a little short on storage for clothes if you are staying for more than a couple of nights), comfortable beds, good size shower but the drains gurgle quite loudly (from other rooms) and can be a little whiffy, good double glazing & air...

Perfectly located, clean, very nice mornings and evenings on the terrace. A quiet hotel a few minutes away from all the main attractions. The staff is very friendly, maybe a little too much...:) We would definitely stay at Adamar again!

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
