It was so bad reception with no explanation at the arrival. The room was not clean enough, with no toilet paper inside. It was not possible to close to room with the key. The agent at the reception was smoking inside and so my room smells smooking..

We stayed at the Lamp Hotel for 5 nights in August/September 2015 and we will definitely be back! The location of this hotel was fantastic, we were surrounded by amazing restaurants, shops and bars however set back enough that you were not bothered at all by noise. The view from our room of the Blue Mosque was spectacular and my...

Were there with wife in May last year. Small good 2-floor's hotel very near to a center of Istanbul. A loud voice of muezzin wakes you up in the morning )) Tea, coffee and light breakfast (eggs, salad, cheese, sausages, fruits, vegetables, etc.) wait for you in the morning in a lobby. Nice friendly staff and the owner.

I am highly recommending this place! Nice location, friendly staff, and good breakfast! Thanks for making my stay wonderful! Too many little stairs but that makes it cost after all. All must see my places are within walking distance, fantastic restaurant called sofa just around the corner, nice cafe called dervish with superb Turkish coffee.

We walked from the tram stop at Sultanamet 5 minutes past Agia Sophia with trolley cases.Welcoming outside seating, prices clearly displayed, pretty comfortable rooms, good wifi. Great advice on using electronic ticketing on trams and metro to airport, quick and easy. Good breakfast, walking distance of Topkapi Palace, nice shops in quiet street. Excellent value, home from home

A two night stay at this compact Hotel (I believe there are 8 rooms?) offered an unequaled view out my window on the 2cnd floor. I was literally right beneath the Blue Mosque. Tiny rooms, and cramped bathrooms were more than passable for just myself. The water pressure was adequate and I didn't plan on spending other than recovery time...

So I checked out a few other cafes in the area near Blue Mosque and I thought it was okay. When I went to this place HOLY SMOKES! The hookah kept going for 2 hours and it didn't burn. If you want a nice and quality hookah from a guy who's learned by trial and error go to Lamp Hotel....

The strong points of this hotel are its location and staff. I stayed at this hotel between Sep 23 and 27, 2014. The hotel is accessible from Ataturk airport using public transportation. Once you leave customs are, turn right and walk following the sign “Metro”. The Metro “Havalimani” station is at the concourse level of the airport. You will need...

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
