We booked a 3-rooms suite and stayed for 2 nights. We are very satisfied with the room and the services and attention given to us. Mr Upekshana attended to all our needs and was extremely helpful. And he is so friendly and go out of the way to make our stay comfortable. The suite comes with a washing machine that act as a dryer too. We found it so useful. One day I inadvertently left my bag with my passport at the toilet next to the restaurant. One of the hotel man (sorry, I cannot remember your name) found the bag and was so kind as to immediately hand over the bag to me. Thank you for the kind gesture. The food at the restaurant especially the breakfast spread was very good and the variety is great. Go for it. The location of the hotel is also very good and near to some food outlets and supermarkets. If you just want a simple meal, there is a food outlet inside the supermarket less than 2 minutes walk to the left of the entrance of the hotel. Travelling around is easy. Tuk tuk are available just outside the hotel. I will definitely stay at this hotel in next visit to Colombo. I simply love the attention given to their guests needs.

We have just returned from Hilton Colombo residences after spending 2 weeks in Colombo. Whilst I agree with the plethora of good reviews to some extent, one has to outline the negatives of this Hotel as well.
In terms of the room/suite rates they are certainly not cheap or reasonable for the level of accommodation you pay for. The building as a whole remains the same as it was in it's inception in the 1990's.
Having visited star class hotels globally, some in underdeveloped countries, this particular establishment is light years behind its competitors within the hospitality industry, Not much internal work or improvement has been done as a whole to the property. If was to summarise the internal features of this hotel it is like going back in time to the 1990's. The parquet flooring we remember when we were kids, the outdated elevator systems , the wooden furniture that we do not see if modern hotels etc.
The walls need some TLC to say the least as they probably haven't seen a paint brush for many years. Please note our apartment had some damp/mold on the bedroom walls. The housekeeping department have issues with providing clean towels regularly, from what the cleaning staff have mentioned, I understand that the laundry is outsourced to an external service provider. The apartment was not cleaned until after 3 PM on most days and required some prompting. I believe this is due to staff shortages.
The service is slow the entire operation is run by trainees or apprentices all working 12-14 hour days with 4/5 shifts being worked consecutively . Most of them have mentioned how tired they are and the shortage /high turn over of staff within the hotel.
Everything about this hotel is dated and I am astounded how it has received so many good reviews.
The only positive is the breakfast buffet I suppose and the friendliness' of the staff even though they don't have the necessary skills or the training to competently perform their duties.
General Manager and senior management team please take note of my comments above and hope you are proactive in your approach, in taking some remedial action to make the guest experience more fulfilling and cost effective.

Yes the apartments are old but well maintained (though the kitchen has some wear and tear) but overall it was ok for 4 days , I will say that the air conditioners (not central a/c but individual units in the room) were not the most effective in Colombo heat plus kitchen does not have a/c, which it really needs. The fridge and vessels were clean and new. The TV’s worked fine with good variety of channels. I really liked their pool and steam room as well. They have a washing machine in the apartment and will send you a clothes stand to dry the clothes on. They also have a balcony which is closed permanently so you don’t have access that was kind of a bummer but I understand the security reason as well. The location is central so all CBD destinations are maybe 15-20 minutes maximum (in non peak hours) taxis and tuk tuk readily available outside the hotel – exit the hotel and on the left is a supermarket and there is one across the road as well, KFC and Pizza hut are walking distance and so is the Colombo Central Mall. The food (room service) was top notch and reasonably priced. Staff is pleasant and a special shout out to Christopher who ensured we had our RTPCR tests done on time (for our return flights) . We booked transfers to the airport for around 6.5k LKR (don’t remember the exact amount) it was not in the hotel car though but I think a private taxi however was comfortable and good. We had a 3 bed apartment and it was really big with lot of closet space…overall I will not hesitate to stay here again good value for money .

A wonderful experience. We booked a night after our flight to Sri Lanka and before heading up to Sigiriya, and the experience was so nice that we booked another night before our flight back home. The driver of the hotel picked us up from the airport and everything went very smoothly. The luggage was carried in and out of our room so we didn't have to strain ourselves. The hotel itself was clean, the room was incredibly spacious and very well maintained. They provided free drinking water in abundance, which was great. The local Keels store was also just next door. The breakfast buffet had everything you could ask more and then some, and the service was very friendly. On the weekends, they have a special buffet for kids with lots of nice, kid-friendly things and the children loved it! The restaurant downstairs was very good and great for a quick bite when we didn't want to leave the hotel anymore. The pool was very big and had great views of the Lotus Tower (as did our room on the 31st floor). You can check-in online and choose your room, so be sure to get the room from the pool side to be able to take in the amazing views. The pool side restaurant was very good as well and the gym was well-equipped. A warm recommendation!

Absolutely horrible stay. Firstly the security staff there is very rude. They immediately told us that we can’t have parking although we have a reservation with the hotel. We had to argue with them for 10 mins to get a parking spot which is a fantastic way to welcome a guest.No one picked up our bags from the next point and we were given a very very old room. The sheets were yellow towels had stains the furniture was very dated. We wanted to have the balcony opened which we requested. This was followed by an interrogation like conversation which was very rude from their part and took them a good while to open the balcony as well. The hotel staff needs to learn how to speak to clients. They are quite rude and acted as if we were staying at the hotel for free.
I would like to highlight the good things as well. The washrooms were quite well maintained and the front desk staff member on the day of me checking out was very helpful.

Arrival experience, Hilton hotels does not have a desk at arrival hall in the airport unlike some other hotels. You can arrange a nice van (mercedes vito) or on the fly arrange one from arrival hall typically aged and small van about 50 usd or 30 usd respectively, I am silver at hilton but still recognised and quite warm welcome got the room 1806, fast quick check in experience very nice staff. (I am frequent traveller and such welcoming is rare)
Rooms, It is 140-160m2 3 bed room nice appartment, quite big, good for 6 people or even more if living room is also used as bed room. Kitchen has pans and full size fridge and washing mashine among others. Bed sheets are hilton typical quality and other hotel stuff.( soap, sampoo etc.). Rooms are a bit aged but still fine.
Location, within a few minutes drive by uber, tuktuk you have the city center mall, a nice lake and temples. It feels safe and premium location.
Breakfast, staff is great. different kinds of food, teriyaki chicken, fruits, sri lankan food, continental normal breakfast items. on the weekends kids donuts workshop to create their own variations. bacon, sausuges, egg, omlettes etc. Great coffee, cappicino. venue is also nice. and staff is great, I did wrote, did not I.
Dinner, due to ramadan, we had iftar, not sure if it is different than normal. also a lot of options. dumplings (chinease) are not ok or not authentic, it is tick and inside is dry. Meat or kebap offers, are limited. you have fresh pasta or pizza options they are ok. a lot sri lankan and indian options. I am missing plain (no spice) kebap, salmon or meat( rip eye, plain meat).
Staff is great, asking several times how they can help us. they mean it, it like it a lot. It is arguably one of the best service and options within Colombo city.
Departure, Bill is acurate and fast checkout experience. We used uber to next hotel all fine, uber driver finds easly and hilton staff helped to load and smooth nice departure experience.
We will stay again on the way back for a day. it is great hotel and good value for money for 200-250 usd per nigth. If you are travelling with family 4 or more, it is very convenient, much better than connecting rooms.

We booked two 3 bedroom apartments for our trip to Colombo. The check in was slow and even after request for a check in at 1 pm we got one room at 3 pm and the other one around 4 pm. The hotel had some wedding events and some corporate events so the lifts were a nightmare throughout our stay. The rooms themselves were average. I had booked deluxe 3 bedroom apartments which showed a television in two bedrooms but the apartments given to us had television in just one bedroom. The air conditioning in the floor lobby , corridors and main lobby was either not working or was non existent. Buffet breakfast was good. The hotel location was great. A super store right outside and shopping mall on 5 mins walk.

Since December 2022, Hilton Residence is our favorite family weekend location .being pet friendly it allows us to take our pet with us ..The food is delicious, staff are courteous and attends to almost all our requests immediately. We had a 3 bed apartment, it had 3 bathrooms so on that basis I would say the two bed has two.
Apart from the restaurant situation everything else was fantastic, and to be fair we have some great friends there now.
