Movenpick Colombo was the last hotel of our journey before flying out of the country. That means that we have already been experiencing Level 1 hotels all over the country for 9 days before coming here. All of the previous hotels were absolutely wonderful but Movenpick... It feels more like a quarantine hotel or a prison, not a level 1. They treat you like a plague even though you are coming with two negative PCR tests. That was a huge turnoff... And then it just starts escalating from there. The PCR test arranged for our flight out was forgotten on the day of our arrival. Then they had trouble arranging it for the next day and the next day when we came downstairs to ask about it because it didn't happen on time they were absolutely clueless. Seems like the staff are not talking to each other... And its not like a hotel was full. They clearly were dropping the ball when it came to taking care of their guests. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is dreadful. Like from a movie after a nuclear war. Really. Everyone is wearing hazmat suits (even though the staff is supposed to be in the bio bubble with the rest of the guests). Breakfast is only served in the room, and it is always half an hour late and is not what you ordered. They also push you to have your dinner in the room. For whatever reason. When you refuse and come to the restaurant, you will most likely be the only one there. The waiters will not be able to understand you, then they will have trouble opening a wine cellar, then they will forget the napkins, etc. etc. The food was very good though, I have to give them that. The sky bar looks like a zombie land as well. The drinks were very mediocre and the nachos that we ordered were horrendous , we couldn't eat them. There is a construction in front of the hotel, and even though that is of course, not there fault, the view is not very pretty either. We cane to this hotel because of the reviews. But the level of service was not up to its name and it was the biggest disappointment of our whole journey. THE ONLY disappointment to be exact. I would not recommend this hotel for international travellers. Oh yes, and I forgot. You are only allowed to use one elevator, which never comes, so you spend hours just waiting to go up or down... the SPA and the nail salon are also closed. And you have to book your time at the pool.

Whilst thanking you for taking the time to share your feedback, please accept my apologies for your experience during your stay at the Movenpick Hotel Colombo. With regards to the PCR testing, as your arrival was after 2 pm, we arranged this the next morning and the results are usually released within 24 hours. Our Hotel also adheres to all health and safety regulations issued by the Ministry of Health as a Level 1 City hotel which is why the staff members are required to be in protective gear which also protects both our guests and our colleagues. We do apologise if your overall stay was not up to mark and certainly hope this has not marred your holiday in Sri Lanka. Thank you once again.

We had a wonderful experience during our two weeks stay at the hotel Movenpick, Colombo. The rooms were very clean, good quality and very comfortable and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. The food was great too. Movenpick, Colombo is one of the best hotels that we can highly recommend. We would like to thank especially, Rohan, Kapila, Akshai, Mettha and Chalani as well as all the staff at the front desk, housekeeping, in room dining, and pool attendants. They all were very helpful to make our stay a memorable one.

The Christmas lunch from move and pick was exactly sufficient for 4 people! The rice was filled with Cashew, mutton, curry leaves and all! It looked colourful and nice! Then Rita, chutney and gravy was yummy, Which was filled with exact Srilankan appetite! Then the wattalappam was nice but what I felt was, the flavor was more like a pudding and it was juicy and yummy! Last but not least the vegetable samosa was filled with filling inside and crispy outside!🤤🤤 The delivery person was friendly, and have adapted to the new normal and the standards. Definitely thank you for the complementary (Hazelnut cake piece😍❤️) Overall the food was upto standard, taste was just as the wish of srilankan(spicy and mouth watering), The mutton was perfectly cooked, and sufficient for 4 people! The delivery guy was to the new normal standard! 😊♥️
