Coming from Vietnam to some places in Laos is like being dropped from a tropical island into a desert in terms of service. "Can I help you" has changed to "Do you really have to bother me" Unfortunately the Khamvongsa is a good example. Unlike reviews below I have not one positive remark to make re their service. A 10...

This is really good value for money. Love the interior and the staff is really nice and friendly. Breakfast is great if you order it the way you like it - and that is not a problem. The staff is very keen to fulfill all your wishes.

Decent hotel all the way around, but the breakfast was included and out of this world. Homemade yogurt with honey and fresh fruit, with fresh juice and French press coffee. Night Market is a 5 minute walk to the river. Not sure if the market is open daily or just because it was the weekend.

This was exactly the sort of stylish colonial atmosphere we were looking for. The room was large, the bed enormous, wooden floors, ceiling fans, checkered tiles, lovely linens...every detail was perfect. And the breakfast was delicious. We hope to come back. Thank you!

Everything here was quite okay, but it lacks professionalism - but hey, you are in Asia ;-) Our room was very cold (January 2014) and the bed was rather hard. The atmosphere is very nice and it is very quiet. Also breakfast was good and service nice - but slow.

We stayed for a week in October, 2013. The location was close to the Mekhong, the restaurants and the nightlife without the burden of noise. The staff were helpful, friendly and went out of their way to make you feel at home. The room was large, clean and well serviced. The breakfast was excellent. The accommodation was very reasonably priced....

We followed reviews to choose this place and were not disappointed. It is very well situated for visiting the main sites in the centre of town, very close to the river and the night-market, yet far enough away to be quite and peaceful too. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious, with tasteful decor of dark wood furniture and floor boards,...

After reading reviews of this hotel i had high expectations and yet was sadly disappointing. The smallest request like an extra bath towel (it had been raining heavily) was looked upon as a huge inconvienince for the staff. Not only this but my room was cleaned for the first 2 days of my stay. I mentioned to reception and they...

Nice little guesthouse that is ideally situated in central Vientiane. We stayed there after reading previous Tripadvisor reviews and did not regret our decision. We also happened to be in Vientiane during the Laos New Year (in April) which was quite an experience and something I would recommend to anyone planning a trip to Laos. They really get into their...

This place is great value for money and in a great location central to the main street and river and in a quiet area. If you accept what Laos is like, then the room, service and staff are excellant. Desk staff do have limted english skills, but they helped us and did everything possible to make it work. Breakfast was...
