I stayed here during the low season, when you'd think you'd get a good deal. While the hotel was pleasant, breakfast buffet tasty, there wasn't anything exceptional about the hotel. There are many other equally nice hotels that you could stay at for a better price.

Originally I checked into the inter-city hotel on the riverfront but it was awful so I checked this place out and was so glad I did! The front desk staff were particularly good, very welcoming, knowledgeable and professional. The rooms were a good size and very very comfortable. The only slight downside was the restaurant. Service was poor and the... More

Excellent location, friendly service, good breakfast. The hotel is a normal hotel, they want to position themselves as a boutique hotel, that is a bit too much. But there is a personal touch because it is not too big.The location is very good, in the middle of the old town, with good restaurants at walking distance.

I and a friend stayed here for two nights on a swing through Northern Laos. The location is awesome, a long block to the river front and night market and surrounded by good eating. Most of the tourist sites were a short tuk tuk ride away. The included breakfast was one of the best of the trip, a wide variety... More

Look down from the bedroom windows and watch as the saffron robed monks move out into the street on their morning quest. We loved this hotel. Full of charm, welcoming staff and very clean room. We were lulled into the pace of life in Laos. Easy walk to good restaurants. River side markets are full of life. I bought silk... More

We found the hotel much better then we were thinking. The staff was great and helped when ever we needed anything. just one block from the river and the night market. One block from some great eating places and travel offices. Other then that just plan two days for a stay.

I'm from Laos but currently relocated in Belgium. Each year I visit Vientiane, Salana is always my choice for a small pampering treat for me and my husband. The hotel and its decoration is very chic and attractive. We also find staff helpful and friendly. We enjoyed both in-room-service breakfast and regular breakfast downstairs. I have to admit that Salana... More

everything about hotel was good from service at front desk to restaurant. Only complaint was that the cleaning lady was caught going through our personal items but the hotel did rectify the situation in an orderly manner and kept us informed of the situation and findings as well as the consequences to the cleaning lady.

I chose to stay at the Salana after reading all the great reviews on Tripadvisor. Upon arrival, the hotel seemed fine enough - the rooms were clean and well appointed, but much smaller than advertised and very noisy. I visited the hotel spa and had a traditional Laos massage, however the spa only had one staff member working as the... More

The hotel is located in the old city centre, very convenient for getting around this area. Traffic is horrible so it is faster and less of a headache to get around by foot. The staff are friendly and courteous. The superior rooms are small but cute. The bathroom has nice features, such as a rain shower and a view of... More
