Disappointing stay, hotel showing age. Plumbing problems during our stay, not informed of problem so waiting for hot water. After an hour able to take shower in another room. Noisy with repairs. Will stay elsewhere in future.
We loved Hotel Khamvongsa for so many reasons. Location is excellent, communication in advance of our visit was very helpful and clear, and the staff were kind and helpful from start to finish (e.g. with tours, airport transport, restaurant recommendations, etc.). The room and linens were spotless, bed very comfortable. Breakfast was very good with very good, strong coffee! The overall feel for me was of calm and 'old-style comfort' - very spacious rooms and high ceilings, lovely and airy breakfast/bar/lounge area, and the decor was something chosen by people, as for a home - the very opposite of a corporate hotel. As some have mentioned, there is no elevator - no problem for us but something others might want to be aware of. We loved our stay and will happily return if we have the chance. Our thanks to the staff!…
this was a quaint hotel near the town centre and not far from the river. The rooms were good although a little tired. The staff were very helpful and made our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was ok but not very imaginative, but overall a good stay
We stayed at this hotel 9 years ago when it was brand new. 9 years on and the rooms are tired and in need of a paint job and general refurbishment. The bathroom was good but not much space to put your toilettes and no power point. The appearance of the Hotel is still very good as is the downstairs area where a very nice breakfast is served. The staff are lovely. We were pickup and dropped off at the airport and our lady driver was excellent definitely worth booking. Overall good but would look elsewhere next time.
We stayed here on our way home from Luang Prabang back home and needed a place just until our flight took off (in the middle of the night.) The folks at the hotel made sure were were picked up and delivered back to the airport and arranged a tuk tuk to take us to the COPE center and back. (The driver waited for us.) Simple acts like these made those last few hours of our trip as calm as possible. The room was lovely and had more than enough space for our last minute packing and repacking needs. The breakfast was served in the bar/cafe and was a great selection of Asian or European choices plus lots of fruit and french pressed coffee. The neighborhood is in the thick of things and could seem busy but for some reason the traffic directly in front of the hotel was light. Some good restaurants close by and lots of good ones within a 20 minute walk. (And a great spa directly across the street.) Enjoyable short stay.…
