A beautiful and peaceful oasis in Phnom Penh. The room was huge with a separate lounge area, a large balcony, and large bedroom with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was compact and well stocked with amenities. There is a second pool at the rear of the property but we always lounged about the front pool, which was cool and...

My room was huge, comfortable, decorated with Cambodian artifacts, and had its own large patio in back. Hotel reflects colonial period and has two pools. WiFi is fast and the grounds are densely planted with local trees and flowers. It is off the main streets, so it is quiet, but it is located directly behind the Royal Palace and near...

It was so very nice to return yet again to my favourite hotel in Phnom Penh. As we often do we split our visit staying for 4 nights, then taking a trip to Kep before returning to the Pavilion for a few more nights. It is also lovely to be recognised and welcomed like an old friend by the wonderful Pavilion...

We really enjoyed our two night stay here. The Pavilion is a charming oasis of calm and beauty in the midst of the city. Our room was huge and well appointed. The food in the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced, and breakfast was very good too. Service was friendly and good. My only minor complaints would be that the...

Dear Kesmith, Thank you for reviewing us so kindly. Yes, you did bump into our intern. We are training them too. The hot water tank is 30 liters per room and should last a lot more that 5 minutes. Can you please indicate which is your room so we could check it? Cheers, Alexis

I stayed at the Pavillion for two nights with my daughter. The room was clean, well stocked with ammenities and the staff was so helpful and friendly. My suitcase didn't make it from the connecting flight, and they handled all the calls with the airport and got my bag to my room that evening. The atmosphere at the pool was...

Dear Donna, Thank you for your kind support! Please note that we have two pools, one in the sun, warmer and one under the trees, cooler. Just to fit every ones tastes. As for the matresses, we always put toppers to make them softer. If the bed is too hard, please ask reception to have an other topper added. If...

It was expensive but matched exactly what we were looking for. Our apartment was a private one with our own swimming pool. Air-conditioner, Hot water, TV with good channels, Swimming pool, The magnificent restaurant around the pool... Lof of good memories of this hotel located in the heart of Phnom Penh. The amazing thing was the employee team of the...

I stayed at the Pavilion for 3 nights and did not go out for a second as everything was beyond perfect here (according to my standards). My trip was a retreat for myself after a long tiring project so I wanted to just stay in and enjoy. The Pavilion did give me that. The hotel room was soooo beautiful and...

As soon as you walk through the garden with its restaurant and pool, you realize that there's very little reason to leave. The most interesting restaurants and are all nearby, but we found ourselves returning to the Pavilion and hanging out in its gardens. Our room was large, comfortable and opened onto a private terrace. Finally, an unexpected treat was...

We stayed at the Pavilion for 5 nights in early December 2016 and it was the perfect haven during our stay in Phnom Penh. The hotel is in a quiet location in central Phnom Penh, a short walk to the Royal Palace, close to a number of the Embassies and right around the corner from the small shopping/cafe/bar/restaurant strip- Street...

This is a stylish gem hidden in the middle of Phnom Penh. The helpful staff made us very welcome, from the moment we arrived after a late flight and they showed us straight to our room, leaving check in until the morning. There are two peaceful pools and an outside dining area where we enjoyed breakfast and dinner. Highly recommended!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It all started when we fell in love with a hidden gem of French-Khmer architecture from the 1920s near Wat Botum, one of the most venerable and original pagodas in Phnom Penh. Renovation and remodeling were led with due respect for the character of a building which had been, as we learnt it later on, a private retreat for Queen Consort Sisowath Kossamak, the late King Sihanouk's mother. Opened on August, 18, 2006 with 10 rooms, The Pavilion has slowly expanded over the years, offering now 36 accommodations throughout three more period buildings that have been added to the property: "The New House", former residence of the chief veterinarian at the Royal Palace; "The New Villa", formerly the private residence of a Cambodian senator, and "The Sun-Pool Villa", our latest addition which used to be lodgings for diplomats based in Phnom Penh. Each one has its own style and atmosphere, with distinctive architectural features such as an elaborate wooden stairway, intricate iron wrought railings, etc… ... more   less
