Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra earns high marks for its outstanding service, with staff members frequently commended for their friendliness and professionalism. The hotel's amenities are a hit among guests, who enjoy the clean rooms with complimentary minibar items and the variety of dining and recreational options. Although its location is a bit out of the way, many travelers feel the hotel provides good value, offering affordable luxury and a well-maintained colonial ambiance.
Visitors are charmed by the warm welcomes and the classic, live music-enhanced atmosphere. The cleanliness of the hotel is consistently praised, from the well-kept rooms to the pristine grounds. However, while the rooms are spacious and generally appreciated for their amenities, some guests suggest that the decor could be updated, and modern accessibility features are lacking.

Detailed Reviews
This hotel personifies a bygone era. Magnificent in its old world luxury, from the foyer, to the Club Lounge to the Junior Suite (that we were lucky enough to be upgraded too), we felt like we were floating through time.
We utilised the Hotel's Airport Transfer service, which we cannot recommend highly enough. Our delightful driver, was a wealth of knowledge and more informative than our Cambodian Guide. We cannot praise this service enough.
We arrived at the hotel at 10pm; were then escorted to the Foyer Lounge, treated to cold towels and a cooling beverage whilst everything was taken care of as we relaxed. Bags were sent to the room, passports copied and we were personally taken to our room. All staff were delightful.
We had purchased a Luxury Escapes package, which included Club Facilities. The staff in the Club Lounge, were wonderful and could not do enough to please. From breakfast, to afternoon tea, to a light supper before dinner, the lounge was a sanctuary at the end of a big sightseeing day. Food and Beverage were superb! The calibre of afternoon tea and the petite fours are reminiscent of Paris.
Bedding, Pillows, Bathroom, Lanvin Toiletries; everything was top notch.
There was an excellent outdoor pool for lap swimmers. We didn't use it this time, but would if we were to return.
The hotel itself is in a compound, with extensive grounds and you feel incredibly safe. Whilst we were there, the hotel was hosting foreign dignatories, and we did note the additional security presence.
We had pre-organised a private guide before travelling to Phnom Penh, however the hotel can organise for you at a reasonable rate.
Hotel tuk tuk's were also available, at very little cost.
The day spa was an absolute treat and well worth a visit.
Overall, we could not fault the hotel in anyway. From housekeeping to Club, to Reception, Concierge, Drivers, Spa Therapists, etc it is one of the finest run establishments we have ever stayed in. It is exceptionally well managed, with a fabulous team and is a shining star of the Sofitel Group.
We would definitely stay here again and cannot recommend it highly enough.

My 3rd trip to Phnom Penh and staying at the Sofitel. My business now brings me to Phnom Penh and I will be staying here every time. The facility is beautiful and really well maintained and every single member of the team is INCREDIBLY friendly, helpful and eager to please in every way. This applies to the front desk staff, to breakfast service, doormen, and room service team. I look forward to seeing everyone again on my next trip.

From the minute we were greeted at the airport by our delightful driver Mr. Sanan and welcomed for private check in by the very professional and happy Xin Joe, our relaxation began. We were treated like royalty with every need met and pampered too. The location of the hotel was fabulous making it easy to explore the city, shopping and its historical sites. If you have a massage be sure to ask for Srey Nat or Sopheak as they paid close attention to all of our requests with diligence and professionalism. Veasna, Plano and Nhory also deserve mention for their constant help and happy demeanor. All and all, we were all exceptionally happy and will be back to stay at the Sofitel Phnom Penh. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Sofitel is very luxurious and the best thing is the wonderful smell that grip you once you enter the lobby, for sure an appealing smell after the rather grim smells of town!
Rooms are very generous with all the little perks you will expect in this hotel (however the “river view” bedroom with balcony are a bit disappointing...not for the balcony but for the “river”...more a canal really! Very naively I was expecting something like the Mekong!!!)
Everything else is great starting with the service that is excellent.
I also personally do not think that this location is perfect for discovering Phnom Penh although you will experience lots of Tuc-Tuc drives to each the center.
Anyway a great hotel nothing to say!

From the moment we turned into the great driveway to enter the hotel's space I was impressed. The lobby is grand and beautiful. It has live music, a cigar bar and restaurants. They upgraded me to a Prestige suite and I knew I would be back. The room is spectacular with impressive furniture and a great bed. Minibar drinks are complimentary and they actually have a great fruit basket with an assortment of different Asian fruit. The dressing room could be a bedroom. The soaking tub was magnificent with views of the river. The suite actually has two bathrooms.
The service is as good as the room. The cleaning was done great and they bent over backwards to make sure I was happy. The breakfast buffet is up there with the greatest. The noodle soups were my favorite, but they had everything.
There are 2 pools one just for hotel guests and the other shared with the onsight sports club. Both are beautiful. The health club and spa were great.
The club Millenese for evening cocktails and tasting of the food was a highlight. The staff were great. The wines were spectacular and there is a variety of other drinks. They are open for breakfast and afternoon tea.
I am already planning my return.

I stayed at the Sofitel for 6 nights while my organization hosted an event with 50+ international partners at the hotel's meeting facilities. Everything about our event and our stay went smoothly, and the staff was consistently professional, courteous, and responsive to our needs. We had a number of last-minute changes and requests for our event and Kim Eng and the rest of the event support staff were very accommodating. Mouyliang and Rachel Ng were also very responsive throughout the planning process and checked in with us frequently before, during, and after. I've stayed at and hosted events at several hotels in the Phnom Penh area and the Sofitel was one of the best experiences I've had. Our team will definitely be looking to come back to the Sofitel for future meetings and events in Phnom Penh.
Only advice would be to avoid using the tuk tuks stationed on call at the Sofitel—they consistently try to up-charge you, sometimes double the normal rate. Would recommend walking right outside the hotel grounds and picking up a tuk tuk on the street.

Our experience from beginning to end was exceptional, with outstanding service. Starting with a very warm, personal welcome and introduction to the luxurious business lounge. Our bedroom was large, with excellent views over the beautiful Sofitel gardens. Breakfasts delivered a huge variety of delicious Western and local style foods. One pool was being renovated but the other big outdoor pool was still very quiet and clean with comfortable loungers and parasols. The lobby and bar are expansive, and often have live music on the grand piano or solo singers, who were excellent and very friendly. Only slight downside is location a bit south of city centre but a very cheap tuktuk will still get you most places within 15 minutes.

+1
Best hotel in Phnom Penh. No matter if you are in town for business for leisure, Sofitel is the best choice here with best services in town. The room is very nice, clean and the amenities are good (they used Lanvin brand from Paris).
The quality of the bed sheets and pillows are fantastic, same as most of the sofitel, they offer you a pillow menu which you may request for special pillow upon your preference.
Breakfast is good, varieties of foods with a mixed of local, asian and western. They serve Dim Sum in the morning which I like it a lot.
Lastly, the most important thing which make me give this hotel 5/5, the Club lounge is one of the best in this region where they offer you a nice snacks with quality drinks (local made gin was served, and the signature cocktail is one of the best I have had at any bars recently) and they open until 8PM! Ms.Nita, the Club lounge manager greets me with my name without me telling the room number which is already a surprise and she also offer me to stay after 8PM without a rush, and even offer me to order more drinks after 8.30PM. The service mind is 10/10.
Will definitely stay here next time I travel to Phnom Penh.

Lovely hotel with excellent service. We paid for access to the club which was well worth the price. Snacks all day and happy hour with appetizers, wine, beer, and alcohol. We got extra special service from Somol, Vanda, Veasna, Phano and Piseth. Pool is nicely equipped with sun hats, towels, umbrellas and an electric call button for a waiter. Hotel keeps tuk-tuks on property that we’re quite handy. I felt much safer in a Sofitel tuk-tuk. There is a small gym but nicely equipped. It was never busy so being small was not an inconvenience at all. It’s not terribly centrally located but the hotel tuk-tuk service negates thus inconvenience.

This is a truly world class hotel. It is situated in its own large grounds and the building is colonial in style and kept in pristine condition throughout. We had a hotel limousine meet us at the airport and on arriving at the hotel were greeted by no fewer than three members of staff. We were taken to the Millesime Lounge where the manager, Nikkole Salvador, could not have been more helpful. I had lost my wallet on the way from London and Mr. Salvador went to enormous trouble contacting the airline and smoothing our way through our stay at the hotel. The hotel room was delightful in every way, as was the bathroom, and the swimming pool in the grounds was massive and well tended. Breakfasts were served with great style in a gracious dining, and the array of fresh food was splendid; the staff were as charming as could me. Returning to the Millesime Lounge, the room provided a charming cocktail hour from 5.30 to 7.30 pm, and the service was personal and attentive. Mr.Salvador runs a tight ship and the guests wanted for nothing, and this gave the lounge a convivial feel. All in all, this is a really classy hotel run by people who know how to make their guests feel special. We can’t wait to return.

I completely gave the wrong answer for the wrong hotel, sorry. This hotel is not in the 'centre' but only a few minutes tuk tuk away. There is a large modern shopping centre next door though with lots of bars and restaurants. Very western. Also this hotel is perfectly situated to go by tuk tuk in the evenings to the main restaurant streets outside of the 'centre' and also a couple of minutes during the day by tuk tuk to the silver pagoda etc. Lovely hotel. An oasis
It is very rainy and around 30-35 degrees Celsius.
