Very good location , helpful front desk staff Welcome drink and cold towel on arrival Good key card system for lift so you can only get to the floor you stay or other conman floors Night Secuirty always present ( friendly ) Pool is good and hot tubs avalible in afternoon ( pool / bar man very nice !) Rooms super clean and comfy beds
booking problem, be careful i booked a room and paid the deposit when the manager came I was simply assigned another inferior smaller and cheaper room. of course it was not possible elsewhere with luggage and at night. very bad attitude of the manager who lied to me for a whole month that he would change my room. The other co-workers also had a humiliating and bad attitude towards me. You can't do anything to us the way you pay. Different attitude from all other hotels in Cambogia. where I lived. Also no welcome drinks and smiles. The hotel is clean and good to stay. Also the price is good and the cleaning is fine. Be careful when booking and doing business with the reception. New Cambogia people are working there now. Money and only money is their thought and work.
The hotel is clean. And price is reasonable considering the location. However there are couple of things: 1- the front desk is completely useless. I have late flight and I asked if I can do late checkout but they refused and lied about the hotel being full. I stayed there for about 12 days out of a month trip in Cambodia. You would think checking out at 2pm instead of noon is a simple request 2- the food sucks. Almost no taste.
I enjoyed my stay in Grand Central because of convenient location, comfortable rooms and access to pool area and small gym. Staff is nice and friendly, especially in reception, and price of the room is good value. They could improve the quality of breakfast but after all I would recommend Grand Central. They even have sauna if you think you need it in Cambodian heat!
We found this hotel to be very suitable for us as we do not personally like to be in the busiest bar streets but more accessible to the tourist hotspots. It was a five minute walk to the Royal Palace, 10 mins to the independence monument and around 15 mins walk to the night Market and the real touristy bars. I would highly recommend this place if you want somewhere reasonably priced, comfortable and friendly staff.
The only issue we had with the hotel were the steps up to the main entrance. If steps are a problem just be aware. Rooms are clean and well maintained. The rooms are a reasonable size but not over large. He swimming pool is very small.
The HM Grand Central Hotel Phnom Penh is a modern hotel is a fairly basic hotel and the staff are very friendly and polite. The hotel has a very steep stairway with approx 25 steep stairs leading to the foyer and it would be very difficult for people with mobility issues or the elderly to climb these steps with luggage. The rooms are a reasonable size and are very basic but have comfortable beds tea & coffee making facilities, and the shower has reasonably good water pressure. There is a small swimming pool more like a lunge pool and the gym was big but hot and humid and it was not air conditioned so no one seemed to use it due to the humidity and hot weather so it was very hot inside the gym. Breakfast was served luke warm and was not inviting or worth eating except for the fruits and there was an egg station where they cooked your eggs to order, eg: omelets fried or scrambled eggs which were good. Pros: Friendly staff Comfortable beds Reasonable sized rooms Good shower water pressure Clean LCD TV with good selection of English speaking channels Cons: Steep steps to climb at entry with your luggage housekeeping regularly forgot to replenish items rooftop pool very small with hardly any room around it to sit and lounge about breakfast foods served luke warm unsafe temperatures fruit juices were also sitting for a long time and were warm There was a supermarket approx 400m away and the hotel is not bad for a few nights stay but if you were staying for lonnger I would suggest trying somewhere with better facilities and housekeeping. …
- nice clean rooma - good staff - tasty food - value for money - not expensive it is absolute wow for my visit , they make every thing possible yo make my visit comfortable , also free steam and sauna was icing on cake
HM Grand Central hotel is a very nice hotel close to the Royal Palace. Surprisingngly the surroundings are rather dirty. Nobody seems to clean the streets. The hotel itself could almost not be better. Good service and rooms. The breakfast was also good. Maybe you should not go there for the pool. It exist but is very small.
We liked this hotel although there are steps to go up and we didn't realize there was an elevator in the garage area that you could use. The staff are very courteous, helpful and make you feel at home. One front desk staff spoke perfect english. The room was comfortable, with working a/c. Breakfast was average but there was something for everyone. The hotel is conveniently located about 20 minutes to the river which is beautiful in the evening when the lights are on. We would encourage a stroll there if you are able to. Restaurants are around.
