Great location as it is within walking distance to the Ben Thanh Market, with lots of F&B and tour operators nearby, The hotel itself has a cafe at ground floor for breakfast, Limited choice of food but is ok if you are not fussy about the quality. The corridor at 6th floor which we stayed had a stanch from moisture and humidity. They managed to add some lemongrass aroma the next day to clear the stanch. Rooms have poor sound proof and you can hear neighouring unit flushing and others walking, and closing of doors.

The rooms are generally ok, clean and provided with the necessary took kits. The pillows are comfortable. The king size bed is really huge that can sleep 3. Unfortunately, they do enforce strict hotel policy on number of pax per room, which means that you need to get a 3-pax room even though the king size bed room can sleep 3. Thus, please ensure that there is 3-pax room available if not you will need to book 2 rooms. More worst if you are travelling with 2 elderly of which the 3rd pax need to share room to take care of them.

The bath tub is quite high, which means the elderly would have to find ways to get into the bath tub safely.

In summary, the hotel is ok for the young but not elderly-friendly.

This one no doubt is on my top list of places to stay in HCMC!!
We booked this hotel by chance, as loving its zen and Japanese vibes while searching for photos of hotels online. It was easy to get to by taxi from airport (not too far, also cheap, too), and the most ideally, is all key attractions are within walking distance!!
We had a Signature room, it was clean and neatly decorated. I also loved the bathtub idea that near a bright window, overlooking a green area. Fully furnished with a calm vibes, from the lobby to the rooms. Up to the the top, there was a pool, we didn't swim but the city view from this roof was so nice.
What we loved the most was its staff and services, friendly, nice people, assisted us with all requests, recommended us lots of local food, places. Kudos to the staff team there. Breakfast was decent and delicious, too. I couldn't ask for more and will definitely come back next time.

What can you say when you step into a hotel?
For this, Cochin Zen hotel, we must say “Wow”! What a wonderful place to stay in the center of Ho Chi Minh city!
We were overwhelmed by the decoration of the hotel, Japanese style, warm and elegant. It only takes a few minutes walking from the hotel to most famous spots such as Ben Thanh market, the Notre-Dame Cathedral, Reunification Palace…
The room is beautiful with all essential facilities; we did enjoy the bathtub in our rooms too- a lovely treatment for ourselves.
The signature of the hotel is their buffet breakfast with lots of options, delicious food and the best coffee – perfect start for a new day. Otherwise, the top swimming pool should be mentioned as well, a great place for relaxing with the sunset and panorama view of Ho Chi Minh city.
We highly recommend this for all travelers, you will get more than what you pay for.

Service was pretty poor - staff didn’t bother helping us with our luggage.
They also accused of us of chipping one of their bathroom cups in a very forceful manner.

The breakfast was ok

The internet was ok

The pool was nice but was very small - not a pool to sit in but a pool to just sit in.
The pool is also next to the bar area so it feels quite tight.

The steam room wasn’t on and they didn’t turn it on for us but they did turn on the sauna for us

We booked a twin room with window which costs a fair chunk more than their windowless rooms but would’ve just saved the money if I knew the window room they’d give us

As I booked it I expected more. The shower in the room was broken and leaking. We needed al our towels to dry the floor. There are not many power sockets in the room. And idem for lights. That’s why the room is quite dark. Bathroom aswell. No bedlights or anything.

At the rooftop, where the pool is with the amazing view over te city, specially at night, there was a happy hour promotion. As said in the board at the bar. When we were paying the bill for our beers they suddenly said the happy hour is only for cocktails. But that doesn’t say on the board en the bartender didn’t mention it while ordering.

Beds are great though. We had a very good rest!
Breakfast was good.

Myself and my two friends booked three rooms for three days at Cochin Zen Hotel. We got a good deal from Agoda on this hotel.

As, it was our first visit to Ho Chi Minh city, we were not sure about the hotel location and also about the hotel itself. We had our doubts so, we just booked it based on the sole reason that it was located in District 1.

Upon reaching the hotel from HCMC airport (30 minutes travel), we were pleasantly surprised that the hotel is located in a very good locality with shops and restaurants nearby. Many of the famous tourist attractions are within the walking distance from the hotel.

We booked the Deluxe double room without window. The room itself was of adequate size and well equipped. The attached bathroom had a decent bathtub. The bed was of good size and very comfortable.

They serve breakfast which has good spread with many choices. I particularly liked the chicken and potato dishes as well as the hot coffee.

The staff at front desk as well as at the restaurant are very polite and attentive.

Overall it was a very comfortable stay and I would surely recommend Cochin Zen hotel. I look forward to visit again.

Nice Zen vibe hotel in good location. Has sauna and steamroom which i did not use. They wrote a birthday card which was nice and thoughtful of them given that i did not inform them of it. Was a nice surprise. They are responsive on FB chat too. Apparently, a kettle was missing in my room, but i did not see any kettle when i checked in. A more proper check of hotel equipment could be conducted as it seems like the previous guest has took or misplaced the kettle. Overall, a great stay with nice zen peaceful vibes. And the staff are nice and friendly too.

To start with people need to know that there are 10 steep steps to get from the street to the lobby. This was tough for my husband who needs a cane.
The check-in was fast and professional. Room and bathroom were ok size wise and we had a window looking onto a facade and sideways over the city. It was a bit dark but we had a comfortable bed and water pressure and temperature were good. However, we did have a problem with WiFi. We even moved rooms and didn't get a better connection. The second room was about the same size with different layout and a huge bed. There was a damp spot on the wall though.
The breakfast was ok, not as much choice as we had had in other hotels in the country but we had dinner 3 times in the evening and it was good and inexpensive. The roof terrace is a nice place to relax after a day in the city.
We found the staff not overly friendly but very helpful.

This hotel have the best location in Hochiminh city ,and it is renovated so the scalfolding built around the front door . Inside the hotel use a lot timber even the lift and pepble stone to create a Japanese garden style but it was dark and has some smell as old timber or incense stick.
The front desk are happy and polite to welcome guests , thê morning breakfast is OK ,nothing complain but the bathroom is need urgent fix . I mean the workmanship , design funny . I am sure the tourist can not relax as their home if use the bathroom example nothing to hang the clothe , door bend , toilet roll behind your back or a curtain around a sink..

This hotel was such a pleasant surprise! I booked this hotel simply due to the great price, but it was well worth it! When I had a no window room, which I didn't think that I would like. However, the room was very spacious and the lighting didn't make the room feel closed off. Plus, when you need some natural light, there is a great rooftop terrace and pool, that has a really nice view of the city. The design and aesthetics of the hotel make for a very peaceful stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting HCMC and I will stay here again next time I'm there.

The room has a small windows facing the corridor. But because the hotel has only 5 rooms per floor there was little or no voice coming from guest walking by. I'd like the open wardrobe as it is useful for hanging and removing clothing quickly.

I can’t remember how much but it was reasonable by taxi. It was cheaper going back to the airport than coming out of the airport.

No, I was there last week from Sept 30-Oct 2, 2019. I used the gym each day and there were no signs of construction. The gym is a typical small hotel gym, but is fine for a vacation workout. The steam room and sauna are 1rst class when your workout is finished.
