My husband and I have just stayed here for 3 nights. We were initially booked for 5 nights but unfortunately our plans changed last minute so we had to check out early.

Room was spacious and air con powerful. Location of the hotel is excellent, we were able to walk to everywhere we wanted in the city. The staff are super friendly and a real delight. Breakfast was delicious!

Service - had some of the best service we've ever had at Giang Son 3. The staff go above and beyond to help. Special mention to Sisi (sorry about spelling) who went out of her way to help us book train tickets, even taking us to the train station on her way home! The tour company they are partnered with are very good and reliable, we did two tours through them and were very pleased.

Rooms - We were given the only room on the 4th floor which meant we were entirely on our own which was great! However, there isn't a lift so not good if you're not used to stairs. The room was modern, clean, good size bed, and great bathroom. Only minor point to make is that there was nowhere to hang your clothes.

Location - Right in District 1 close to main backpacking area with lots of good restaurants and bars. You can easily walk to other areas if you like walking, if not you can take a taxi.

I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere that is decent on a budget.

Almost forgot the great breakfast!!

Thanks Giang Son 3!

I wish I hadn't stayed here. Now I have to get my bags and everything cleaned by a professionel after my stay, since the hotel had bed bugs. I found one in the pillowcasing and several on the mattress. I haven't got bed bugs at home and this is the first place I stayed in Asia, so they were here before I came.

Response from Giang P, General Manager at Giang Son 3 Hotel
Responded 2 Nov 2015
Dear Oscar Lard, We have recently received your review on TripAdvisor. 1) We have thoroughly checked our internal system and we can not find any guest named 'Oscar Lard' checked in our hotel. We are a budget mini-hotel and just re-open for business for less than a year after an inside out renovation. Therefore, we are wondering if you really stayed with us and at which period of this year 2015? 2) Our front desk/reception/room cleaning did not receive any complaint about 'bed bugs' from any guests so far. FYI, we have daily room cleaning service and also have professional pest control company who comes to check on our rooms on schedule and on urgent call as well. So it's a big surprise to us when you mentioned you 'found one in the pillow case and several on mattress'. We are not sure why you did not inform this issue to our reception/front desk for our immediate attention (if you were staying with us). 3) You wrote 'unprofessional staff' but did not mention specifically how or what the staffs did wrong to you. We would seriously re-train or even fire any staffs from their job, if their behaviours are bad or unacceptable to our guests. Of course, we can not compare ourselves with other big and luxury hotels. But our philosophy is to make our guests feel as much comfortable as possible. We always value all constructive feedbacks from our hotel guests in order to continuously improve our service. Should you have any other queries, please email us directly at giangson3@hotmail.com. Thank you very much ! Best regards, Giang Son 3 Hotel Management

My friend and I stayed at Giang Son 3 for 3days 2nights. The hotel is located in the vibrant area of Bui Vien - where many restaurants, bars, travel agencies, and nearby ticketing stations are located. Despite being in an area that's so alive during night time, the hotel is conveniently located in a corner where you can comfortably sleep and not worry about the noise from the parties outside.

We arrived at the airport at 1am and they have a pick up service for only USD15/car. Check in was hassle-free, one of the staff waited for our arrival.

We also requested for their assistance on tour booking for 2 days. They are partners with TNT Travel, one of the best in Vietnam. The hotel is a 2min walk to TNT's office so pick up/drop off before/after the tour was easy breezy.

As to the room, I've requested for a room with window which they happily provided. The room is basic but comfortable. Breakfast, meanwhile, is delicious. They serve Banh Mi with egg to order (you choose if you want omelette, scrambled, etc) with fruits, juice, and coffee.

Overall, it was a great stay. In my Indochina trip, I think this hostel is my favorite. :)

My travelling companion and I stayed at Giang Son 3 for 5 nights. The hotel is a perfect little gem located in District 1 down a short alley off the vibrant Bui Vien Street. We booked directly with the hotel and luckily arranged for an airport pick up. The traffic was horrendous because of Halloween festivities and the pre-arranged taxi pick up was hassle free and cheaper than what we would have paid if we had hired one at the airport. We also had the hotel book our taxi back to the airport for our flight to Hanoi.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by two smiling young men, Bao, the evening receptionist and, Hai, the breakfast "chef". Waiting to be checked in and for our bags to be carried to our rooms, we enjoyed a complementary cold fruit drink. Our A/C rooms on the third and fourth floor were quiet, extremely clean, had a window, mini fridge and excellent shower with good water pressure. The mattress was comfortable and TV reception good. Thay, our friendly room cleaner, made sure we had clean towels every day. A complementary breakfast was included in the price of the room and consisted of noodles or a choice of eggs, sausage, French bread, jam, fresh fruit, juice and coffee.

The Giang Son 3 is perfectly located in a fun area just steps to restaurants (recommend La Cantina- 45 Bui Vien St), bars, convenience stores and travel agencies. It’s also within walking distance (10 minutes) to the Ben Thanh market. Our receptionists Huung and Bao gave us valuable information on what sights to see in the city and helped us book two, reasonably priced, full day group tours with TNK Travel (highly recommend them).

When I return to HCM I will definitely stay the Giang Son 3 Hotel because it’s clean, ideally located, reasonably priced and the staff (Bao, Huung,Hai & Thay) are outstanding!

Thank you for treating us like family and being so friendly and helpful!

The worst hotel of our 2 weeks stay in Vietnam ! The room we were alloted had a shabby look and the breakfast served was also dissatisfactory. The bread was hard and the fruits were not fresh. The location is the only plus point of this hotel but there are many other options in the same area.

Cleanliness need improvement. Location is good, room and bathroom big enough (triple room). Water pressure is low. Nicely and friendly staff. Bui Vien street is happening at night. If you need a quite place please avoid Bui Vien street.

The hotel is in a great location. It's on a side street off a busy touristy street. If this was London then it's the equivalent of staying in the West End.

I had booked 2 deluxe rooms but only one of them actually looked similar to the one in the photos. I did question whether one of the rooms was 'deluxe'. I was told it was but I still have my doubts. The reason for paying a little more for the deluxe rooms was because I knew my mother liked a room with a window. However she didn't mind it too much so we didn't make a fuss.

My room looked more like the photos but it was squarish rather than rectangular. However I had to be asked to be moved to a higher floor since my room on the ground floor looked outside into the breakfast area. It meant I couldn't open the curtains or windows. In the morning it was very noisy with people having breakfast.

My 2nd room was on the 3rd floor. It was a little smaller but at least it meant I could sleep in in the morning.

The staff their were very friendly. They gave good advice like where to eat, change money, and buy power adapters. The receptionist even lent me her personal phone to call my bank back in the UK when I had problems withdrawing money with my cash card. My mother got on with them like family. They are a credit to the hotel.
