We have been to HCMC many times (at least once a year) and this is the first time we are staying at this hotel as we tend to stay around Ben Thanh market all the while.

To begin with, will state the "cons" of the hotel. Yes, indeed as pointed out by previous reviewers, the hotel is dated and not those with the modern and trendy look. Some of the buttons in our room are "out of the order" and the lights could not be turned off (unless we take out the door card that powers everything on or off). Also, the restaurant being located on the 7th floor where the lift will only go to level 6, and one has to walk up and down. (a little challenging for my 90yo mum). That's all.

The "pros"? Many.

The location of the hotel is superb, right in the center and very convenient to move to other parts of the city, all within 5-15mins of walking distance, like to the city hall, cafe building, saigon center/saigon square, notre dame cathedral of saigon/general post office, independence palace etc.

Our hotel room was spacious, neat and clean with a big TV screen mounted on the wall with a TV programme listing! (my cousin one was equally good though smaller but with a balcony)

The beds are comfortable and we had very good rest every night.

The restaurant offered great buffet breakfast, with a mixed of local and western dishes and about 50% of the dishes were changed everyday and thus giving diners different "varieties" instead of the repeated dishes. There's also a live cooking station where you can order different kinds of egg dishes, like omelet, fried eggs etc. What's good is that is alfresco. You can have a good street view.

Service staff were helpful, polite and room service was very well done.

There's also a swimming pool on the 8th floor with a massage/spa facility which we went too, very professional and good job.

Overall, we had a good and wonderful stay here and will surely return when we return for our visit next year!

The location of the hotel is accessible to most of Ho Chi Minh landmarks. The interior is showing a bit of age however, it adds to the character of the building. The rooms are spacious and clean. We booked for 2 rooms. The only thing I will comment is the bath/shower. It is safety hazard as it's too high. I nearly fall when I was stepping out of the shower/bath. It will be dangerous especially for elderly people and children. This needs to be updated for safety reasons. In saying that, our children's bath/shower (Twin Room) has lower bath/shower which gave us a bit of peace of mind. The breakfast spread is okay. Just enough to fill your stomach with food in the morning. Nothing so special except for the freshly baked baguette. At one stage, the breakfast is not fully set up. Most of the guests have come but the spread is not fully ready. We have tried the massage upstairs and we quite enjoyed the massage. No fancy ritual but I should say, it's okay for its price. I rather go here than try the dodgy massage outside the hotel. Overall, it's a room just good for sleeping. We can't expect much but this serves the purpose to just a short stay in the busy city of Ho Chi Minh. By the way, the art work is beautiful displayed on the walls. There are some beautiful paintings by local artists.

Our first night , we had a room with internal windows and room was very dark and claustrophobic. Went away for a night then upon return they gave us an amazing corner balcony room. Just loved being able to see the city pass by and have some natural light. Hotel staff all very accommodating and friendly.
Also enjoyed having my breakfast on the roof top.

Showers in the tub ? And the tub is a good 33” off the floor. Talk about a trip/fall hazard!
WiFi is weak..so weak that cell service alone is preferable.

Housekeeping buggies left in the hallway?
Stay away from this place. Laundry is charged by the piece at a high price .

We stayed here for three nights before a two week cycling trip. The location was great as we were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast selection was quite a spread. Having breakfast on the rooftop was an added bonus. The bed was a bit too firm for us, but the air conditioning worked well. Also, the Wi-Fi worked well in the room. We had a room on the 5th floor that faced the street. I always wear earplugs and they worked well as I didn’t hear much street noise at night. We enjoyed our stay.

Perhaps the best thing about this hotel is the roof top swim pool. Just a great place to refresh several times a day, especially until one is acclimatised to Viet Nam. The next best thing is the big choice for breakfast. Then I would say how quiet our inside room was from night time traffic, helped by being able to silent opperate our air con. The in room safe was big enough to store our laptops and more. Room service excellent. The staff at the front desk can help with just about anything. Easy to walk around the city centre from here. Definitely happy to stay again.

3 nights, April 30, May 01, 02 2022.
Taxi from the airport, check-in very fast, friendly staff. they gave us an upgrade to room 403. Nice large corner room, very comfortable and quiet. Due to the Covid crisis, the Hotel provided a limited but very tasty buffet style breakfast. Great stay. Great location. A major wifi improvement would be welcome.
We will be back. Location - a few steps away from attractions and restaurants - is a plus for the Huong Sen.

The professional and friendly staff team is the best part of this hotel. They took their time to make every guest feel valued. There is everything you need in the room and the location of the hotel is excellent. The bed is extremely comfy and there are many great TV channels provided with movies. Highly recommended!

This is my second time at Huong Sen Hotel, I really enjoyed my stay here. It's a nice and clean hotel. I booked a room with balcony, staff was very professional and courteous. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of varieties. The pool was clean and very much needed after a few hours of strolling around HCMC. The hotel is just 5-min from Nguyen Hue Street and Bac Dang River, and 10 min to Ben Thanh Market. I recommend this hotel.

Our second and last stay at this Hotel. Very dated since last visit, no pool side service nor towels available, rooms very dated and lacking basic amenities. Disappointed as our first stay was enjoyable.

Good day.. Do they speak English ? The front desk and concierge had pretty good English, as far as the reservation service is concerned i cannot tell because i never used it. Don t bother with hotel transfer they will charge 2-3 times the taxi fare. At the HCNC ( Saigon) airport just go out and right in front you will see the taxi stand and the taxi lineup manager. Just go and line up, the manager will ask you your destination, it s very quick and efficient. ASK for VINASUN or Mai Linh taxi.... DO NOT take other company. Huong Sen is well known but just in case save a photo ( picture ) of it on your phone to show the taxi driver... just in case. The ride should be about 160 000 dongs depending on your arrival time. I just read on the internet that the Huong Sen Hotel was not offering airport transfer as of LAST year. Take a taxi.. Enjoy your stay...

I don't smoke, bit you definitely want a balcony room. We booked a standard room and it was dark and a bit gloomy so we paid for upgrade. It was definitely worth the extra cost.
