The interior of our room was beautiful and the bed was extremely comfortable. The art works placed around the room added a charming feel, almost like you were in a museum. While we liked everything about the hotel services, it is unfortunately situated directly across from a busy plaza where they were holding concerts. These concerts happen regularly. The stage was basically under our window, the strong lights shone straight into our room and the loud music did not allow for any peace or rest in our room. We only stayed for a couple of nights, thank goodness. If you like peace and quiet and the chance to relax in your room after a busy day, then this hotel is not for you. Trying to sleep with ear plugs to block the noise, is not our idea of a holiday. Plus, the ear plugs did not stand a chance against the level of noise at this hotel.

The only positive about this hotel is the location. We arrived to a tired hotel that needs updating, the room was tired and needs decoration and painting, the window looked out onto a dark wall no light at all, shower was poor, bath and sink was stained and then we saw a letter in room telling us that renovation work is happening and there will be noise throughout the day, this started 8am Sunday and was very, very loud at times. We have asked for a late checkout so we could get some rest before our late flight and we were told no rooms available but we checked and can pay and book a room on booking.com. Staff aren't helpful at all. The room was clean and bed was large and comfortable but the hotel should be closed while it is being updated or at least the rooms nearest the noise. We leave tomorrow late on and this has been the only poor experience we've had out of the hotels we've stayed in, in Vietnam, charged full price and not informed of ongoing work before we arrived so we could decide whether to cancel. Will be a good hotel once updated, until then not recommended for the price paid can get better, quieter room elsewhere for cheaper.

Dear Lyndsey and Simon, First of all, we would like to thank you for your recent stay at the Royal Hotel Saigon and for sharing your detailed feedback. It is disappointing to learn that your recent visit was not as memorable as it should be and we sincerely apologize for the discomfort and inconveniences caused to you. Personally, I sincerely regret that we haven't had any room available at your request. Although we’d tried to offer your staying until 14:00 PM (without extra charge). We couldn't do anything else because we’re fully booking at that day. We take our guests' feedback very seriously and rest assured that your concerns will be highlighted to related departments for improvement. By the way, we would like to inform that we are in the final stage of room renovation. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future, so that we can provide you with a renewed furniture room. Yours sincerely, The Hotel Management Board.

The location of the hotel is very nice - in the middle of the pedestrian zone (at least on weekends). The street noise can be heard in the rooms. But not as disturbing as downstairs in the lobby. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast buffet excellent. The city itself is worth seeing.

This hotel is located in a central location in the heart of Ho Chi Minh city in district 1 Nguyen Hue Avenue. Its conveniently located to all the shopping centre such as Takashimaya, Saigon Centre, Vin centre, and other attractions such as Saigon Opera House, Ben Thanh market, Saigon Tourist office, are within a short walking distance. My first booking was for two nights with an intention of trying other hotels in the area but I was so impressed by how welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful the staff were that I decided to return for an additional six nights. I like to give a special mention to miss My for her outstanding customer service and other staff Thuy, Tuan & Nhan at the Reception who helped me with banking issue.
In general the room are very clean & tidy. The staff are very helpful & responsive. The hotel buffet breakfast was delicious . I highly recommend the Royal Cafe which is located in the hotel . You will not be disappointed.
The hotel is four stars and the price is very competitive but I highly recommended this hotel for all occasions.

Although the hotel needs to refurbishment, but the service from the staff was great. they made the stay at the hotel enjoyable and memorable, the security guard made the stay safe. the offerings of welcome drinks when offered was great, and needs to be consistent. the staff at the hotel were very honest and returned what ever I left behind in the room, including the cahs I had left behind. keep up the great service.

This old hotel is renovated so it is noisy during my stay here plus the stinky smell of the sewerage around in the lobby and aisle makes me sick. I booked 5 nights but checked out early after 4 nights due to the flight schedule, that is luck too because I will not be upset and sore my back by the hotel "s hard bed in the Premium Deluxe room 119 and I also do not want to see the old room furniture, an old safety box, two windows look out a filthy small rocky garden. The bathroom is not only small compared with the bedroom but also has a dirty bathtub, and ugly tap water with an old toilet suit but the water flow is strong, the hotel has a dirty swimming pool too and no one wants to swim here. The price I paid for this 4-star hotel can easily get a better value from other hotels elsewhere

The location is excellent but rather a run-down hotel. Breakfast was good with reasonable choice but the friendliness of the staff was overall poor. I was extremely surprised when at check-out they charged for the Laundry Bag in the room that we put our dirty linen. True, we used one Laundry Bag inside our luggage but was charged for 2 amounting to VND 180,000. That was ridiculous & not experienced in any other hotel anywhere else in the world. Management please see who you can improve the experience of the guests; at least you had better mention this beforehand.

It is disappointing to learn that your recent visit was not as memorable as it should be and we sincerely apologize for the discomfort and inconveniences caused to you. We have also well noted your comments on friendliness of the staff and will review personally with all team. We provide “Free of charge” plastic laundry bags that guests can take away and cloth laundry bags that guests can buy as souvenirs. Each cloth laundry bag has "souvenir item price" sticky note . We apologize that the staff didn’t clearly explain to you. Thank you for highlighting our convenient location and our Breakfast. Once again, please accept my sincere apologies for this disappointing experience. Yours sincerely, The Hotel Management Board

Amazing hotel! Perfectly located in District 1, near city center. Staff were extremely helpful, especially Duong at the front desk, who kindly assisted us with booking several excursions and messages appointments. Buffet breakfast had a wide variety of offerings for everyone's taste. Our room had the biggest king sized bed we've ever seen and was quite comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel when visiting Ho Chi Ming City/Saigon!!!

I booked one room via online and I were informed that the hotel has renovation works on the 3rd and 4th floors. At check-in, I was apprehensive when the staff let me stay on the 5th floor. They informed that they willing to change room if I fell uncofortable. But I stayed for 10 days and feel accepted because the noise is not too much. Exactly, they work from 8am to 5pm but they don't work at noon so I can rest. The staffs are very friendly. Breakfast was great. Hope next time I come back I will experience the newly renovated rooms on the 3rd and 4th floors. I will recommend my friends to your hotel.

Really tired hotel - currently undergoing work which they informed about upon check in.
2 couples travelling and both rooms were clean but depressing. That said I wouldn’t dare remove a pillow case or dare look at the mattress. Luckily we weren’t in the room very long at all and only there 2 nights. The breakfast was just ok but on the main didn’t look appealing at all. There seemed to be a definite lack of staff apart from the friendly people that opened the door for you on entering and exiting the hotel. Good location though.

I suspect they have interconnecting rooms as my room had a locked interconnecting door and it was a standard room. So certainly worth asking as I again suspect they would be able to accommodate you but i do not have any facts just surmise- The English spoken was pretty good so check with the Hotel. Prices are very reasonable.
