Every time when we revisit HCMC, we will surely come by to this restaurant for our dinner and this recent trip was no different. It's the 4th or 5th time already, how time flies!
The setting and layout remain unchanged, it had a nice and cosy ambience, and surprisingly the restaurant manager seemed to recognize me. The buffet price remained unchanged from last year with the 15% discount given. However, something have changed. There's free flow of lobsters and softdrinks and beers only, unlike previously where red/white wine and fruit juices were included in the buffet. But it didn't affect us at all since we are no alcohol drinkers but our friends were a "little disappointed" since they have had the wine last year!
As it was raining cats and dogs, the restaurant was quite empty despite being a weekend evening. Based on past experiences, the occupy capacity was around 80% but this time round only got 5-6 tables of diners. But thats good, we could move around leisurely.
The spread was good, mostly seafood. Other than the lobsters which you need to order from the staff (and how you would like them to be cooked, like with cheese, garlic or salted), the other dishes like crayfish, crabs, big prawns, beef, lamb, oysters, mussells etc were all available. There was also a live cooking station where you can order the noodles and soup.
They also had good spread of pastries, desserts and fresh cut fruits.
Only issues were that the waiting time for the lobsters was very much longer than expected, 20~30mins and so if you do not want to wait so long, you can immediately order when your earlier order was served to you. And also the so called tom yam soup (probably Vietnamese style) was spicy sweet, instead of sourish-spicy as it should be.
The food were nice and fresh overall, and we enjoyed ourselves as much as our previous visits.
Staff were efficient in clearing used plates and serving beef and food (i.e. lobsters) and were polite. Foods were also frequently replenished.
It's surely a good value for money meal considering the extensive spread of food and the quality.

Every time when we revisit HCMC, we will surely comeby to this restaurant for our dinner and this recent trip was no different. (our last visit here was on 24 December 2022 for the Christmas Seafood Buffet Dinner)
This time round, the restaurant has been renamed to Ocean Queen (previously was known as The Grill restaurant), although the setting and layout remain unchanged. It was cosy and nice, the buffet price had risen a little because of the Independence Day public holiday but they offered 15% discount. There's free flow of lobsters and softdrinks/juices/house wines and beers.
The restaurant was almost full house and the spread was good, mostly seafood. Other than the lobsters which you need to order from the staff (and how you would like them to be cooked, grilled or steamed), the other dishes like crayfish, crabs, prawns, beef, oysters, musells etc were all self-service. There was also a live cooking station where you can order the noodles and soup.
The food were nice and fresh overall, and we enjoyed ourselves as much as our previous visit.
Staff were efficient in clearing used plates and serving drinks and food (i.e. lobsters) and were polite.
Highly recommended and it's a good value for money considering the spread and quality and cost about USD38-40.

It was our revisit here for the Christmas Seafood Buffet Dinner since our last trip in 2019, before Covid19.
The Grill restaurant, almost unchanged, is cosy and nice and the buffet price had up a little but in return, there's free flow of lobsters and softdrinks/juices (that were not included back in 2019). It's well maintained and clean too.
The restaurant was almost full house and the spread was good, mostly seafood. Other than lobsters which you need to order from the staff (and how you would like them to be cooked), the other dishes like crayfish, crabs, prawns, beef, oysters etc were all self-service.
The food were nice and fresh, and we enjoyed ourselves as much as our previous visit.
Staff were efficient in clearing used plates and serving drinks and food (i.e. lobsters) and were polite.
Highly recommended and it's a good value for money considering the spread and quality and cost about USD35.

This is a good hotel and has the potential to be brilliant if they get new reception staff and management and 'tidy up' a few places. Positives. Location is bang in the middle of the Walking Street. It can be noisy but easy to walk everywhere with bars, restaurants and tourist attractions on your doorstep. Spacious and big rooms. I didn't include breakfast or eat there so can't comment on this. Room has air conditioning, a safe, some complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee making facilities amongst other things. Housekeeping was generally good but hallway carpets need replacing and room carpets need a hoover. Very dusty and dirty. Otherwise premises were clean. Wifi was hit and miss but common in Vietnam. Main issue was reception staff and management who were very rude and unfriendly. They would never smile nor greet you. No information about the hotel or area were provided when checking in and when you asked anything, it was like drawing blood from a stone! The doormen and housekeeping were nice. Main thing to consider if staying here is noise and where your room is located. I was fine with it.

This was our fourth visit to the SG Prince Hotel, and I have to say, we had an absolutely wonderful stay that truly went above and beyond our expectations! The whole team worked so hard to provide amazing service, creating a warm and cozy atmosphere that made us feel right at home. It wasn’t just good service; it was an outstanding experience from the smooth check-in process to all the little details that made our stay special.
We were really impressed with the dedication and professionalism of several team members. Nam stood out with his fantastic leadership and positive, collaborative approach to making sure we were happy. His attention to detail and friendly communication really made a difference! Likewise, Cong, Tuyen, Vi, My My, Phương Anh, and Minh Châu all went out of their way to anticipate our needs, making us feel so welcome. Every time we had a small concern, they responded quickly and thoughtfully, which made our stay even better.
The high level of service at the SG Prince Hotel speaks volumes about GM Robert's leadership and the incredible training your team receives. Every staff member, from housekeeping to security, played a part in making our visit such a positive one. Thank you for everything!

We stayed in the Saigon Prince Hotel during an overnight ship visit to Phu My. The room was very nice and comfortable, without the noise that we saw comments on in other reviews. The staff were attentive and helpful. This is a 4* hotel- true quality, and was a real value in my opinion.
The hotel has a restaurant where we had dinner - really good and reasonably priced. We shared fresh and fried Spring rolls, and a seafood stir-fry.
Breakfast was included in our reservation. A full array of East-West variety.
I'd stay there again.

Don't stay here on weekends, there is a night club next door that plays loud music until the next morning until 7am. Even though I stayed on the other side of the hotel, I can still feel the vibration on the window. On week days noisy until 1am. They give us only tiny bottles of water. The breakfast is good. Location is good. The street is closed on weekends.

It was the worst experience with a hotel. We had booked 6 rooms and at 2 pm we were given only 3 rooms as the rooms were not ready. By 4.30 we got the balance rooms. The air conditioner was not working in 3 rooms and after repeated complaints and technician visits we were given a room at 7.30 pm and another at 11 pm. The 3rd room had to be used by us without the air conditioner working The next day when we wanted to speak to the manager, Mr. DANG THANH NAM was at the front desk and his behaviour and attitude was very rude and unimaginable. A person at the front desk of a Hotel can never be someone like him. I am surprised as to how the management has kept him there. He does not know how to speak to customers. I would never again visit Saigon Prince Hotel and would even suggest others not to do so if you people do not want to ruin your hotel experience.

This restaurant has such a cozy and charming atmosphere. We just had a pleasant birthday party catered for a group of 15 people with Lobster & Seafood Buffet. The restaurant is spacious, and the service was fast and friendly. The seafood was delicious and fresh. The exquisite flavors and presentation make it worth every penny!

Our understanding is that UnionPay/Union Card is a method of electronic payment in China, similar to Visa or MasterCard.
Not sure if that method has made the leap outside of China as of now. We have not seen it in the states yet.
The UnionPay website states that the card is accepted in 174 countries, but we did not see a listing of countries on their website.
Good luck, best bet would be to call the hotel directly...
