Stayed at saigon smile for 3 night, booked 2 through agoda and payed 350,000 dong per night ($15), extended another night which was required to be payed on check out. When we went to check out, the woman on the desk tried to charge 470,000 ($20) saying the price went up at midnight, even though that is the price on agoda and the price on a chalkboard hung outside the door of the hostel. The price written in the book she had with the rooms and guests even said 350,000 on it. The rooms were small and the air conditioning doesnt work very well but good enough, the shower is hot but with terrible water pressure. Overall not a horrible place to stay but after the blatant attempt to scam money after what was a somewhat pleasant stay here i would 100% recommend looking elsewhere, and if you do choose to stay pay upfront and do not give them your passport as you wont get it back if they ask for more money.

The owner is not helpful and scammed us! We booked a bus trip via this hotel through whole Vietnam. When we were halfway Vietnam the hotel owner cancelled our tickets so we couldn’t travel further! When we called him on the phone why he did that, he told us we had to delete our review on booking.com because it was not good enough. Also the bus company played along with the game. Even 1/5 is already to much for this scamming and lying owner.

Small room and only good for short stay. The staff are helpful though not saying much, you can feel their willingness to assist you. They don't serve coffee or tea in breakfast only bread, egg with three pieces sausages and fruit.

Unfortunately we booked 3 nights there and payed before, the only reason why we stayed.. it was so dirty! The towels were dirty. The floor, the wall and the beds were dirty. The shower was cold! The door to the bathroom were not closing. Everywhere ants. The location would be good. Close to the party street but not to loud.. Never again. And please dont look under the beds! Something fall down I had to but it back and saw so much trash and dirt under the beds.. The beds are like stones! Not comfy at all! Can not understand why they have such a great recommending!

The hostel is good and reasonable for the price you pay (room with no windows but big and clean, good wifi,... ) however the mattress is VERY hard... Like you're sleeping on wood. I would not advise to stay more than one night. Then, it makes me crazy that it's called smile hostel... The guy is smily and very nice but the woman is awful!!!!! You should teach her how to smile: she was rude, unfriendly and not smily... and also she wanted us to pay laundry 40.000 per kg... 1 hour before, another member of the staff said 25000... She never wanted to change! Last thing : be ready to be waken up at 7 am... They all use hammer and drill and do not care if you want to sleep

The place itself was Hard to find because it was squeezed in narrow alleys. Do not trust the staff if you book a trip with them. Check the prices first in a travel guide. I bought a ferry ticket from ha tien to phu qouc and it costed me 400k. When i came to ha tien I realised that the tickets only cost 230k. That explains why the price wans't mentioned on the receipt that I recieved from the staff.

Room ok, basic breakfast, polite team, staying there was ok. Not the best, not the worse. But : We booked a Mekong Tour with them. Two days one night. And this was just a joke. You just stop at all commercial places to buy things or give tips, and if this is the case with many agencies, here it is just extreme. Visiting a coconut factory without seeing the factory or the production itself, but just to hear a "learnt by heart" presentation of the things you can buy ? A joke for chinese tourists. The biggest problem was the night staying at their "partner" hotel in Can Tho. The room was just disgusting, no window, totally humid, with the kind of mold that is bad for your health. We asked for another room (ready to stay in all kind of places during our trip, but this one was too much!). The hotel asked us to pay an extra charge for a better room, and of course, neither our guide nor the agency was ready to pay the costs. Nobody's fault ?Well. Stop thinking that tourists are stupid!

We really liked our stay at Saigon Smile. The workers were great, nice and helpful. Room and bathroom were clean, bed was comfortable, and the breakfasts we had there were good. On the day we had to check out, they let us stay in one room for free (our flight was at 11pm). Even if the place’s location was kind of tricky (little to no indications) we would recommend this hostel.
