My name is Luan, I have worked for 10 years as local guide, and I traveled in many places especially in Vietnam. My biggest dream is to travel all over the world and be able to share my great knowledge about Vietnam. With my family, we decided to support each other and open Hanoi Old Quarter Homestay. My main objectives was to include what the travelers want the most which is experiencing the authentic Vietnamese life and exploring local activities. Today, I consider that the authentic Vietnamese life has become quite rare. Whenever or wherever you travel you all want discover new customs and learn more about a culture. So this inspired me to the host and share my home with the travelers from all over the world.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We happen to book this hotel on booking.com. Expected nothing much but my family and I are happy to stay here. Front Desk and Bell Man are helpful and always at service. If we have a chance to visit Hanoi again, we would definitely come back to your lovely hotel.

the homestay is simple but provides all you need. Its very clean too. The staff is the highlight, they are super friendly and helpful. Always nice to have a chat with them. Location is very strategic, closed to the best places of Hanoi old quarter. Its walking distance to everything you might want to see. Would definitely come back :)

Very cleanly and helpful staff! About 5 min walk to the night market and about a 8-10 min walk to the lake and center if the nation. Definitely was the most expensive place in our Vietnam travels but I think that comes with big city prices.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The English speaking staff at the front desk were extremely helpful in navigating the city and any tours. I especially liked the "First Night Dinner". They provide a free authentic Vietnamese dinner with all the guests that arrived that day. It was wonderful. My room was sparkling clean.

A good place, ideally placed near the lake and the cathedral. Welcome is warm and bedroom well equipped. Breakfast is good and first diner too. We went here in family with two child ( 1 year and 4 years) Do not hesitate to book if you are looking for a convenient place.

The hotel is very simple, nothing extravagant and no fluff/luxury. You will, however, find a clean room with staff going out of their way to help you plan and book your trip to suit your needs. The small bathroom with shower is right outside the room and is shared with the room across the corridor. In the morning an “à la carte” breakfast is served in the small kitchen. The house is family-run; some work at reception, others in the kitchen while the others clean the rooms. It is on a narrow, busy little street which is VERY Hanoi. If you look for a “pied à terre” in the middle of old quarter with people having the desire of making your trip around Vietnam the easiest and most pleasant experience possible, this is the place to go. If you are looking for a 5-star hotel with a lot of bling this is definitely not for you. Lương and Huy helped us book buses, taxis and tours even when we were at the other end of the country. They really went out of their way. It is extremely easy to keep contact and book anything that you need through WhatsApp.

I booked a boat tour of Halong Bay with Luan and he is extremely professional. The tour was last minute but that did not discourage him from helping me to ensure I make the tour and my needs met. I am very happy to have met a person who is dedicated to his customers to ensure we get our money’s worth and be available to answer questions or needs met. Thank you, Luan! I imagine his Homestay will be top quality as well and if you are need of booking activities in Vietnam with fair pricing, this is your guy.

The place is accessible to all our travel needs, to different kinds of shops too! The owner and staff are friendly and accommodating, they really made our stay in hanoi easy and fun 👍 They serve nice daily choices for breakfast😊 And we really loved the welcome/complimentary dinner! The meals were simple maybe but the thought of having an exclusive dinner with the staff and other guests was just sweet and comforting ❤️
