As soon as we were taken up to the room, the building smelt. The floors of the hallway were wet and once entering our room the smell only got worse. The decor was lovely but once looking at the wall we could soon see where the smell was coming from. The wall was literally dripping and there were no windows to air it out. Very glad we were only there for one night. We would have walked out and found something else if we hadn't have checked in at 10pm and been on a bus for the past 7 hours.

We arrived in Hanoi and checked in to our 2 double rooms paying in cash on arrival. When we got to our rooms the beds felt damp. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls the ceiling was moulded. We went to reception, they offered us another room, it had the same issues. At reception we saw a small rodent run across the restaurant. We decided to request a refund. We were told the refund wasn’t possible. They offered us another hotel with an extra cost. It was further out from the centre. I asked to speak with a manager who told me to stop asking for a refund as we wouldn’t be getting one and we can write a bad review she doesn’t care.

Absolutely disgusting and dirty bathroom. Mould on the walls. Room smelt bad. Staff not helpful and thought nothing was wrong with the room, said they would move us to a different room and was worse. Do not recommend.

I never got to see my room as the hotel had electrical issues and moved me to a dump across town. They never bothered to tell me until I arrived and the staff was clueless and lazy. The manager finally called and explained the situation. The breakfast area was filthy so I figured I dodged this bullet. Nope. They moved me to kings palace that was a filthy nightmare. Had they said something to me i would have moved to a clean place.

At the tail end of our trip we decided to finish it at Hanoi. The pictures posted by the hotel made us feel that the room were nice enough to that we were willing to spend a few extra bucks to get a better stay. If you need a reality check of what the room really looks like, feel free to browse through my pictures. The room looks a bit shabby overall—cracks, wall patching, and broken furniture. The lights in the restroom was very dim and water flooded fairly quick when taking shower. They DO NOT replace new bedding and covers at all. There were hair on the pillow and on the bedding as I pulled it out to sleep. Yes, I was very grossed out by it. The only two pros about this place is that the service is just fairly okay and the location was convenient to the old quarter, but far enough that we wouldn’t be dealing with the noise at night.

Except for nice location (near Ho Guom), others go with the price. Room is small, not really clean, noisy as the door can not prevent noise. The receptionist did not agree to let us have breakfast though we paid for it. However, the owner later came and offered to pay half of my taxi expense to the airport. So I am okay with it.

I wouldn’t stay here even if it was free. The online pics don’t show you the actual state of the rooms and hotel. On arrival tap water was offered which for any tourist is rule number 1, Don’t Drink Tap Water! Wallpaper peeling off the walls. No safe box and the door even locked can be pushed open. The shower was worse than a hostel. Behind curtains were years of damp, mould and dirt. Other guests hair and dirt left in toilet. Hasn’t had a good clean in years. Stairs full of mattress which is safety hazard. We looked in the kitchen area and instantly wouldn’t eat anything that came out of there. Ants in the bed. If we wanted to leave bags after our checkout they wanted to charge an extra night without needing the room. It doesn’t deserve the 3 stars it has. We stayed in 3star in HCM city and it was far superior than this. I instantly checked out and they told us what do we expect it’s not a castle for that price. Sorry sir what we expect is CLEAN! And no attitude! And for just a little extra you can get amazing. Raise your cleaning standards. Good location is the only good. But there are many more with good location so think before booking. So for an extra £8 I booked a 4star hotel who were amazing and couldn’t help us more.

Affordable price but still not worth for it! The room is very dull(yellow light) and they didn't change the bed sheet and quilt cover, I can see the stain and some weird hair on it obviously. The toilet is so horrible, the photos was taken 10 years ago maybe.
