We arrived at this hotel around 6am without a booking. That was no problem to the manager Manh who checked us in and the porter Binh who showed us to a room. We initially booked for one night but on experiencing the cleanliness of the hotel and friendliness of the staff, extended to four nights. I should also compliment the...

The hotel location is wonderful, just 2 minutes to the lakeside. the room is clean, the stuff is very nice and helpful, I have to mention that there is a young man name Manh. he speak resonable English and learning Chinese. that's makes the customer very comfortable.

Morning Star Hotel is in a great location. The current listing for it on Google Maps is wrong however so don't get a taxi to that address (I did and had to walk here in the rain) - use the tripadvisor map! There is so much around here to eat and shop for! Great tailor/silk and great food too. Little...

This hotel was not bad apart from the constant drilling from a renovation gong on next door. It was difficult to sleep on one night due to very boisterous British back-packers who gave staff dreadful abuse. Luckily, the Vietnamese are a peaceful race and did not rise to the intense provocation.

Lovely hotel with good appointed rooms. Some better than others. Breakfast are poor and you are better advised to eat around the corner in many good little cafes. At present there is building work going on next door, which starts at 6.30 am and finishes at 7.00pm. When this is finished, a new building being built, about 6 - 8...

The room that we'd booked at the Morning Star Hotel in Hanoi was attractive and had a balcony with a view of the lake. Shortly after arriving, we thought we'd try to catch up on sleep after an-all night flight from Australia, including stop-over in KL. Imagine our shock to be woken up around 4.00pm to the sound of drilling...

The young people who worked here were very sweet and helpful and our room on the 6th floor ($55/night !) opened out onto a balcony with a great view of the lake and the Water Puppet Theatre area. Be sure to ask for this room, it is the best. The "restaurant" was on the top floor and seemed like it...

When we arrived we found that there was a new hotel going up next door - it shared a party wall next to our bedroom and construction started at 6.00am. Not a good start. Also, the rooms we booked and received confirmation for were not the rooms we were allocated. We moved out after the first night. The air con...

We stayed there for 2 nights. We also picked this hotel for its price and central location. The room is adequate and clean. There are all the things we need, air condition, fridge, plasma TV. Although not fancy nor beautiful, it is what we expect for its value. There is nice breakfast room at the top floor, looking out the...
