Had a great stay here as it was clean and comfortable, with really nice staff. Special thanks to Mr Henry for being so friendly and helpful advising us of places to go. The room was on the 5th floor overlooking the street, but it was quiet at night. The hotel is a long skinny building so there may be some rooms with a limited view. Everything worked just fine, and they replenished the purified water bottles on request. The breakfast had a reasonable choice and was freshly cooked to order. The location is really good as it is within 5 mins walk to the Ho Kiem Lake, and is surrounded by interesting, bustling streets. There are some charming touches provided by the hotel , e.g. little treats left on your door handle in the evening with a personal good wish for the night. Also on our departure, Mr Tea gave us a sealed packet, containing some really tasty snacks, with another hand written message on it thanking us for our stay, before they waved us off in our Uber ride.

Stayed two nights in Suite Family Balcony City View. There were two double beds, which were wide enough for four adults to sleep in, and the mattress was sufficiently soft for a good night's sleep. The thickness of the blanket was just right so I could feel cozy even with the air conditioner turned on strong. The bathroom felt small compared to the size of the room, but enough towels were provided so I was able to use it without any problems. Four small bottles of water were provided free of charge every day, and larger bottles of water in the refrigerator were also available at a reasonable price. I enjoyed the free breakfast for two days, and although there wasn't much variety in the buffet, I was able to order rice noodles, egg dishes, pancakes, etc. and eat as much as I wanted. It was great that the workers smiled and treated me kindly. The elevator was also spacious enough for 4 adults to carry their luggage. The people working at the front desk were very friendly and allowed us to store our luggage and shower for free on the last day of check-out.

My family of 4 including 2 teens and I throughly enjoyed our stay at Hanoi Brillant Hotel. We booked connecting rooms that were separated by a hallway, which provided us with adequate space, and enough privacy so that our teens didn’t feel that we were on top of them. Prior to our stay, I was able to communicate my needs and concerns to the Hotel via email, and they were able to Accommodate my requests, such as securing car service to and from the hotel at late and early hours, leaving my luggage while I took a 3 day 2 night trip to. Halong Bay and even providing us with a take away breakfast when we had to leave the hotel at 6am to catch an early flight home. The the top floor of the hotel, we were provided made to order eggs and pho and other selections from a menu on top of a buffet with a selection of breakfast items. It was delicious and filled our bellies well into the afternoon. Their service is impeccable with the friendly staff always attentive to our needs. They even went as far to leave handwritten notes with chocolates hanging on our door knobs at arrival and at night. What a pleasant experience. This hotel deserves a five star rating for their outstanding effort in making their guests feel welcomed and appreciated and well cared for. I would definitely return to this hotel. By the way, it’s also located in a very central location, we were able to walk everywhere within ten 10 minutes, the cathedral, the lake and the puppet theater as well as souvenir shopping and good restaurants.

Our family of 4 stayed here at the height of summer in Vietnam - think high 90s and humid. Brilliant Hotel lived up to its name, as a perfectly located respite during our days of exploring the historic center city of Hanoi. We had two Queen size beds, a nice sitting area, balcony, and a well-appointed bathroom with Rain showerhead. Most Vietnamese hotels like this provide toothbrushes, cotton swabs, shower caps, razor blades, and shampoo/soaps in the bathroom. The front desk staff were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The bellhops and supporting staff were thoughtful and provided nice touches throughout our stay (chocolates and notes). The breakfast buffet was nice, with a mixture of traditional Vietnamese and western options. You can get eggs, pancakes, french toast, or Pho to order. We stayed throughout Vietnam, and the black coffee here was surprisingly the best we had! Breakfast was nice to have before starting off into the city. Per normal practice throughout Vietnam, the hotel staff checks your room before you sign out. This was helpful as we had forgotten a few items! If we ever find ourselves in Hanoi again, we'd definitely book into the Brilliant Hotel. Thank you to the wonderful and welcoming staff.

Very accommodating and hospitable. The reception staff, cleaning staff and the staff serving us breakfast all were very polite and happy to help with anything asked for. They have some cute gestures which made us look forward for them like the sweet notes in the morning, or there thoughtful travel snacks for us.. we recommend this place for its location as well..

Great service, some flaws. The best thing this hotel has going for it, is the service and staff working there. From the vet start the staff were enthusiastic and friendly - and I can’t fault them on this. They are wonderful. Stay for the staff! They even made a birthday cake for my wife on her birthday, such a wonderful team.
The staff provided us with some great info on food and services in the area, as well as advice on how to survive a stay in Hanoi which was well written. We referred to the restaurant list often:
The rooms are clean and well organised. We stayed in a ‘standard’ room, which had no windows to the exterior of the building. This may seem awful, but when you start hearing the Hanoi street noise outside the front door, you’ll know it’s a blessing.
The buffet breakfast was good, well… adequate. The foyer is a lovely air conditioned space where you can comfortably wait, and the spa area was surprisingly well arranged. We got a great massage there.
The staff here are so nice, I feel bad about talking about some of the flaws. The biggest is the AC in the rooms. The first room we popped into seemed to simply get hotter the longer we stayed in there. They moved us to another room, but the AC was best described as ‘barely adequate’, and on a couple of occasions seemed to turn off for a period late at night. The fridge never seemed to get food below 15 degrees, and I’m not really sure it worked at all.
This isn’t a fault, but something to keep in mind: the restaurant where breakfast is served is on the 10th floor, however the lift only goes to the 9th. To get access to it you’ll need to climb a set of stairs. This may be a problem to people with mobility issues, so be mindful of family member’s needs.

Response from Dante Hua, Owner at Hanoi Brilliant Hotel & Spa

Dear Type_rider, Thank you very much for your detailed review about Hanoi Brilliant Hotel and Spa. We are very happy after received your fantastic review. Our wonderful staff, the cleanliness of our room, good breakfast with plenty of option with nice and cool space have met your expectations. Moreover, our great spa helps you relax after every long day trip. From your point of view, we have a chance to announce our service to all over the world. As we don’t hide the information that our lift has come to the 9th floor and we willing to serve the breakfast in room without any fee (which is very rare service in the Old Quarter- it’s only available at 5-star hotel with high expense). Moreover, as we have mentioned at check in, the mini bar in the room can only keep cool the beverage, if you have any food or medicine which have to keep it below 15 degree, please inform our reception next time and we will happy to keep that for you. Finally, thank you for telling us about our Air-con situation during your stay. We have fixed it completely and won’t happen again. Once again, it was such a great pleasure for us to be your accommodation in Hanoi for this trip. Wish you all the best. Best regards, Dante Hua Customer Service Manager

It is located in an area with convenient transportation and the interior is clean and tidy. The staff were friendly and proactive in helping me when I asked for help. I ate a lot after a long flight, and it was nice that there was a spa right inside. You can make a reservation in advance or you can get a discount on site. I made a reservation at the spa in advance, had some healing time, and got a massage to relieve all the fatigue from my body. I was half satisfied with the service

It's good value for money and the staff are very friendly.
Not far from the main street.
There are rental facilities for umbrellas, bicycles, etc., but I haven't used them so I don't know the details.
What impressed me the most was that I applied for a service where the driver would pick me up in front of my accommodation for the Halong Bay cruise, but the service time was delayed by about 10 minutes due to other schedules the day before (morning traffic jam). I was looking for a means of contacting the driver, but when I suddenly received a KakaoTalk message that I didn't recognize, the female counter at this hotel asked me what the situation was and relayed the situation to the driver, which resolved the situation. I was so grateful.
You can leave your luggage even before check-in or after check-out. I was so thankful that he didn't bother me even when I asked about every little thing I felt.

My room was lovely and quiet, the receptionist gave me a massive list of places to go and information I needed for the beginning of my trip. All the staff rushed to help you when they saw you entering a room and made you feel so loved and special, I had notes left on my door wishing my a tranquil sleep and a snack gift of departure.
I would strongly recommend for solo travellers as the staff really made me feel comfortable here.
