My God. The Capella Hanoi is the finest city hotel experience that I have enjoyed thus far. It really blows other 'high end' hotels out of the water completely. The level of service rivals that of other five star establishments in Bali (which I can personally say has some of the best hospitality standards globally). The staff were all so kind, genuine and knowledgeable. They all gave excellent recommendations for off-site activities and dining, although honestly, next time I'll just stay put in the hotel all day because of what's on offer in-house! The main point of difference that very few hotels are doing is their daily "rituals”, think complimentary cocktails and snacks during happy hour every day, plus champagne breakfasts with Tattinger, – no “sparkling wine” here – and a lavish spread of the best Vietnamese food we had during our stay in the city (the breakfast beef pho is a must try), along with oysters and steak. Mind blowing. The hotel itself is a feast for the eyes: drawing inspiration from the 1920s art-deco scene of the nearby Hanoi Opera. Our suite was just stunning, easily one of the most impeccably designed rooms I've ever stayed in. Even the corners of the walls were designed in art deco fashion, and antique props are on display around the room. You really can't say very many other hotels employ this level of detail. Coming from someone who lives in and experiences the high standards of Balinese hospitality, (I’ve also stayed at the Capella Ubud), the service at Capella Hanoi was nothing short of phenomenal. The staff were so lovely and so genuine. It's simply put a top-notch place with outstanding facilities, incredible service, and stellar management – I genuinely can’t recommend it enough.

We had 3 nights here and had a fabulous stay. Beautiful decor! Room had plenty of storage space and was very well equipped. Fabulous bathroom and super comfortable bed with quality linens. No extra charges for the mini bar, and delicious snack / desserts menu was also included downstairs. We had room service one evening at midnight (to soak up the alcohol!) and it arrived swiftly and beautifully presented. Hotel laundry service was also swift and good quality. Hanoi was smaller than we anticipated and the hotel is in a perfect position for sightseeing - everything reachable on foot. We left our contact lenses in the room by mistake (a month’s supply - duh!) but they were posted out quickly to Phu Quoc using a fully tracked service and arrived 72 hours later - many thanks to The Capella for a 5* stay with no fuss! Asian hotels always provide a top class service and this was no different!

We have visited more than 50 countries and always stay at top hotels. For us, Cappella Hanoi easily ranks in the top five anywhere - for comfort, high quality service, professionalism and friendliness throughout. Everyone from the General Manager all the way to the waiters, the Front Desk, Spa personnel, etc., were just fantastic. The Spa treatments and the Michelin-Star Japanese restaurant "Koki" were unique experiences. My wife and I really enjoyed our memorable stay.

We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary at the Capella. The staff were exceptional in the way they treated us throughout our stay. Our suite was on the “Starlets” floor the suite is decorated with magnificent pieces from the 1920’s. The attention to detail is amazing. We had very pleasant breakfast in the Backstage restaurant which was always enjoyable and with attentive staff catering for our needs.

We have been to Vietnam three times and Hanoi twice. Hanoi seems to have become a lot busier and noisier than when we were last here. La Capella has exceeded our high expectations and has been a centre for calm in which to return and relax from the freneticism of the city. Not usually a fan of deco or glitz we really liked the style of the hotel - the bar, the restaurant and the Deluxe Suite. The eye for detail is exemplary and the service excellent. The staff really want to please you and make you happy in every way they can, and they achieve it. Listening to a jazz singer in the bar in the early evening was a pleasure ( the champagne helped) , even for a heavy rock fan. The staff were charming and engaging as is usual in Vietnam but these have clearly been v well trained but are allowed to engage with guests and actually have a proper conversation - who knew you you would find a waiter with a love of Ricky Gervais and British comedy working in their Hudson restaurant - incredible for someone whose second language is English. The spa was very good as well. Piece of advice - Hanoi drivers use their horns a lot, so ask for a room at the back of the hotel otherwise an afternoon nap is impossible and bring earplugs. If the hotel could bring traffic to a standstill for you, they would but they can’t. They’ll do everything else in their gift to make your stay memorable and comfortable though.

Dear TedmeisterGeneral, How wonderful you came to stay with us at Capella Hanoi and I am thrilled to know that your experience was comfortable. Your high praises for our rooms, our bar & restaurant are truly heartwarming. It is even more rewarding that your mentioned about our team. People really make the difference and I am so proud to have such wonderful people take care of our guests. And while I appreciate you highlighting our evening ritual and our Auriga Spa, I also would like to express my sincere apologies if the noise from the trafic outside had caused any discomfort during your stay. An inescapable aspect of Hanoi life is the high traffic density, I understand that it would take a little getting used to, perhaps it could also be seen as part of the general hustle and bustle which lends a rather unique vibrancy to this colourful city? TedmeisterGeneral, thank you so much for choosing to stay with us and we absolutely look forward to welcoming you back very soon. In Appreciation, Dennis Laubenstein

The hotel id located in a central colonial area close to the opera house. The hotel has very beautiful well equipped and extremely clean rooms. The hotel used to be an old theatre and you still get a glimpse of how the place was in former times. The design of the rooms is influenced of western and asian culture. The hotel served the best breakfast we had during our two week stay in Vietnam. Unfortunately the rooms do not have a balcony.

I had an experience at Capella Hanoi when I came to Vietnam last weekend. I was quite surprised with the service and staff at the hotel, everything was much better than I thought. I think the thing that impressed me the most was probably The Hudson Rooms. I have used some drinks here and am very satisfied with the quality. I am quite impressed with Mike, a young bartender but with very good knowledge of drinks. I think he is a very talented bartender

This is the most wonderful hotel. It’s in the French Quarter near the opera house and a 15-20 minute walk from the old quarter. It’s a new building but done up in a 1920/ style and feels incredibly glamorous and decadent. There is a happy hour in the ground floor seating area in the late afternoon/early evening with complimentary drinks and canapés and live music. The Hussain rooms restaurant on the 7th floor is very cool and there is a fun speakeasy to drink in. But most of all the staff make you feel that you are really special, I will definitely be going back to this hotel in the future.

Dear ChandrimaB465, Thank you for taking the time to write such a kind feedback about your recent stay with us and we are overjoyed to hear that you will return to our hotel in the future. Capella Hanoi is a triumph of Bill Bensley, the so-called "maestro of architecture on a global scale". Our revelry palace was inspired by Opera during the Roaring Twenties, as you may have noticed. We are greatly appreciate that you mentioned about our Living Room experience and about The Hudson Rooms, trust that you had a good time in our speakeasy bar. At Capella Hanoi, we are always looking for ways to better our guest experience. We hope to welcome you back for another exceptional stay in the near future. In Apprecitation, Dennis Laubenstein
