My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel de l'Opera during our visit to Hanoi, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The historic ambiance blended perfectly with modern amenities, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.
The rooms are spacious, meticulously maintained, and the thoughtful attention to detail, such as the quality toiletries and ample storage space, added to the overall convenience.
The hotel's location is simply unbeatable. Situated in the heart of the Old Quarter, we were within walking distance of many popular attractions and vibrant neighborhoods. This prime location made it incredibly convenient to explore the city's historical landmarks, trendy boutiques, and delightful restaurants.
The staff was incredible. From the front desk to the restaurant and housekeeping, the level of hospitality and attentiveness displayed by the hotel's team was unmatched. They were genuinely warm, courteous, and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure we had a pleasant stay.
We also had the chance to dine at the hotel's restaurant, and it was an absolute delight. The culinary experience was a blend of international and local flavors, and each dish was a testament to the chef's expertise. The elegant setting, attentive service, and delicious cuisine made for a truly memorable evening.
In conclusion, Hotel de l'Opera is a gem that offers everything a traveler could hope for - comfortable rooms, a prime location, and an exceptional staff that goes above and beyond to ensure a fantastic stay.

From the moment we arrived until we sadly had to leave we were treated like special guests. All of the staff were helpful and friendly. The location is very good and close to the Opera House and the Lake. We had a pleasant walk around the lake each day.
The room on the fifth floor was large and pleasant although a trifle dark which is the decor as it has dark wall and ceiling but very nice and peaceful. The bathroom is large and has a good shower with choice of rain or hand held.
All areas we found were well maintained and clean.
We dined in the restaurant for dinner, a good menu and we enjoyed our meal. The breakfast was very good and all items we tried were hot, I hate it when some hotels provide lukewarm dishes. There is a large choice every morning and off course you can have the eggs etc. cooked fresh for you.
Go careful on the delicious pastries as they are very moreish.
Swimming pool is inside and a nice sitting area on the verandah where you can enjoy a drink and a pleasant relaxed atmosphere.
On checking out at 12:00 and not being picked up till 14:45 we were offered facilities to have a shower near our pick up time.
Overall a very good experience and highly recommended.

Absolutely lovely staff. The rooms are slightly dark but otherwise clean and the bed is comfortable. Everyone at the front desk from Ms. Hong to Mr. Anh are so kind and really made my stay enjoyable. The food is also fresh, I ordered the bun cha after a long day and though not the cheapest place to eat near old quarters it was a large portion for the price.
I want to give an extra thank you to Ms. Hien who did a quick hem of my work pants complimentary with my laundry service so I did not have to use safety pins. I did not have time to get them altered before my work trip and it was very considerate and unexpected! If I am in Hanoi again I will definitely stay again.

I am waiting for check in from last 3 hours with small kids .I reached Hotel by 6 AM with my family . Reception did all my checked in formalities and allotted room nos . When asked for room keys , they told me either pay full charge of one day extra otherwise we will give room keys afternoon . I am observing that reception fellow has allowed other guests for early checked in and given room keys who has come after my arrival . I am surprised why hotel is doing so . May be because I refused to pay one day extra charges .

Dear nareshgoyal63, Thank you for staying with us and for reaching out to us. At Hotel de L'Opera Hanoi MGallery, we take these sentiments extremely seriously and thus, after a detailed investigation into the matter, would like to address your concerns. As you have stated, you and your family arrived to the hotel at 06.00hrs. Please be informed that the hotel check-in time is at 14.00hrs. Subject to availability, we can of course be flexible and accommodating. In light of the current holiday season, we are unable to fulfill these requests as much as we would like to. As to my understanding, the team did nevertheless offer you and your family a complimentary 11:00am check-in time which should have illustrated to you and your family our commitment to ensure your stay was well looked after. A 06.00hrs check-in time, however, would result in additional charges to the already applicable charges found in your original reservation. I trust the above further clarifies the matter. Kind Regards, Alberto J. Lugo-Vina General Manager

Part of the Accor group, this hotel is perfectly located on the edge of the old quarter and about a 3 minute walk to the Opera House. The hotel provided good recognition of our status with Accor.

Our room was nice enough but with zero view. Design was quite stylish and we found the bed comfortable. Be careful with the bottled water: they provide 2 complimentary bottles but the large bottle of Evian placed on the table - which we also assumed was complimentary - actually cost us £5.

The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel has a quirky little bar (called the Green Fairy). There’s a small gym on 3rd floor which is perfectly adequate and even a small indoor pool adjacent to the spa area.

The buffet breakfast was very good and included a noodle and egg station. At 400000 VND per person, we found this to be good value for a hotel of this class.

This was one of three M Gallery Hotels we stayed at while in Vietnam and only one to score a perfect five.

From the moment we arrived late in the evening from our long flight we were made to feel welcome.

The room was quirky with the highest, but most comfortable bed of our stay. We loved the timber floors, dark moody colour scheme and a bit of bling in the mosaic tiles in the bathroom.

We frequented the downstairs bar for our evening nightcaps, amusing ourselves watching the punters try and find the nearby speak-easy or watching the Insta girls posing outside the Hotel.

The location in the French Quarter was a perfect base for exploring the Old Quarter, lakes district or getting lost in translation ordering a chicken Banh Mi - chicken/egg - close, but very tasty all the same.

Since the Hilton Opera is still a permanent construction site, this time I stayed nearby at the Accor MGallery L'Opera. The hotel is in a great location, the public areas (restaurant/lobby) are very chic. My room was large and well furnished, but very dark and susceptible to noise due to the windows facing the atrium. The room designer then added black wall and ceiling elements to the already dark room to further darken it. I didn't find that cozy. It actually only worked with artificial light all day. The breakfast was very extensive with many international components and very attentive staff.
The hotel is well located for sightseeing on foot and also taxi/tomb tours.

PRO
atmospheric Old Quarters; within 5 minutes walk to the Opera, Hoan Kiem lake, food

CON (for me - a corporate traveller)
room too dimly lit, I had to switch on the bathroom mirror many bulbs "changing room" lights to flood light into the bedroom; walls painted in dark colors, bedside lights switches were not within reach (at the floor to be turned by hand!) Table lamps covered dark shades. Kettle has to be plugged in either at the bathroom basin top (just beside the strong pressure water tap) or on the small table beside the bed. Bed is double thick layers high (sleep walkers beware)

EXTERNAL
gets noisy already in the early morning with some kind of shrill morning drill somewhere out there.

BREAKFAST
Moderate spread. Service good. Coffee so-so

Overall maybe good for honeymooners

Dear ChenYongHann, Thank you for your recent stay at Hotel de l'Opera Hanoi and for sharing your valuable feedback with us. While I do regret to learn that your stay appears to have been hindered by external noise disruption as well as by your in-room experience, rest assured that we are taking measures to address them. With regards to the sound disruption during your sojourn, our hotel has been refurbishing all staircase access doors. While we do understand the nature of the work and potential noise derived from these works, do know that we have ensured any disruption was kept to a minimum and with strict rectification works to be done in the later hours of the morning and prior to evening hours. I do, however, apologise for this temporary disruption to your overall experience but rest assured, we will continue to ensure our guest comfort is continuously looked into during this period and which will conclude very soon. Thank you once again for reaching out to us and trust your travels have you well. We do look forward to having the opportunity to welcoming you back in the not so distant future and to ensure your next stay is looked after and improved upon. Kind Regards, Alberto J. This was an excellent introduction to Vietnam holiday. The hotel is centrally placed and has very welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful staff. The hotel is of a very good standard with an excellent buffet breakfast. Rooms are comfortable with very good beds. Meals and drinks are quite expensive as you would expect from a large hotel but with the location allowing easy access to various restaurants and cafes nearby it’s not an issue.

Booked through their direct Accor website, which showed the rooms we booked had complimentary breakfast included for the allocated guest per room. Upon check-in was advised, they could not honour breakfast for the rooms we booked, although I had a booking confirmation showing the breakfast was included. I'm a platinum Accorplus member and currently staying at the Movenpick Phu Quoc writing this review. There is no comparison to the superior care and customer service we have been provided here. This is the 5th Accor group hotel we have stayed in during our Vietnam holiday. All have been exceptionally accommodating to our family except for Mgallery Hanoi. The rooms smell like cigarette smoke, as other reviews have mentioned. The odour was overbearing and made it difficult to sleep. Luckily, we were only there for one night. Avoid this hotel, especially if travelling with family or kids.
