Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great hotel. Best value for money ever. Location is great right in the middle of the old quarter. Cold air conditioning and comfortable bed. The only problem is that there isn’t elevator and my room was at the fourth floor, but apart from this all was great

Room smelled VERY damp. We looked up and saw lots of mould coming from the corner of the ceiling. The next day I was ill and we noticed our clothes felt and smelled of damp too. We now realise why it was so cheap - regardless of how low the cost is, the price doesn’t justify the poor conditions of the room.

I stayed for two nights. The furnishings were not nearly as nice as portrayed in the photo, they were old and worn. There wasn't an individual shower, there was a hose on the wall and everything in the bathroom gets wet. Bring your own toiletries. There were also ants in the room. I was told that breakfast began at 7am. I arrived at 7:05am and the entire buffet had been wiped clean by 6 Chinese tourists. It was not replenished until after 7:20am. The "spa" is laughable, it is a table behind a curtain on the way to the elevator.

Stayed here after not liking Eco Luxury Hotel, beds were better king size, clean, pretty central to Hanoi walking distance with shops and restaurants, we went on the bike things you sit at front and they push you but be aware they say one price then they want alot more...We got two bikes with men they told us same price but when finish they wanted so much more! Hotel was reasonable price, reception and staff very helpful.

We did not stay at this property so cannot comment on the stay. However, this is a review based on their customer service. We saw the room advised online but as we were a few minutes walk away we decided to drop in. We explained we had seen the room online and asked about a room/price etc. The staff member suggested we went to see the room before we booked and said she would be possibly be able to reduce the price because of no commission charges opposed to if we booked online. When we returned to discuss price/sort payment. The staff member had increased the price online but was trying to convince us that she was providing us discount. With negotiations, the price was no cheaper than previously advised online and when we asked if they’d changed the price they just accused us of making the mistake/being confused. We did not stay, but only half an hour later when looking for another hotel online, we saw the room advertised online (on the same site) and discovered the price had been reduced back to the original price. This review is based on a matter of principle and honesty, we are extremely disappointed. Also having previously been a customer to the sister hotel, we expected better.

Stayed for 2 nights in the worst possible room! No sleep as very loud noises from neighbouring properties and what I assume was the air con unit. The room had a balcony that led to the neighbouring house. Didn't feel safe, and was very expensive for the quality of room. Would never stay again and for a few pence extra can get a much better room (4-5*) elsewhere. Location isn't the best for solo travellers as at night the hardware stores close up and the street is very dark and empty. Solo travellers I would recommend staying elsewhere. Staff ok, mice or rats in the breakfast room! Not a great stay!

The staffs here were amazing. Most of the time, they would try to help you with any difficulties. We owed them for the early check-in and keeping our backpacks for free after we checked out. Seriously, our trip would have been hell with out their hospitality. On the other hand, our room was quite a big disappointment. Could say that the facilities belonged to the former time. Our windows couldn't be closed at night, and the heater output machine right outside our balcony kept us awake all night. The toilet paper had no cover, easily be wet and the there was only one "ancient" trashcan inside the toilet. You can keep the power running while you are away, which is really convenient.

Located among various stores, on a small but busy street in the old town - this place was our first stop on our tour of Vietnam. It was actually our hub while in North Vietnam. We're a family of 5, so we occupied their large rooms with 4 beds (queen + 3 single). The rooms we stayed in had a nice sitting area, coffee and a fridge. Showers were clean. Breakfast was good with both local and western options. Staff went out of their way to assure we our stay was pleasant - and it was!

The hotel is located in the main area of old town, from there you can easy to walk around. The facilities are too old and especially the public toilet is dirty too. It doesn't have elevator if you choose the room which is opposite the main street with balcony. The bed is noisy because of mattress and smelly. The staffs are normal and not really friendly, they don't want to smile. If you just wanna have a place to sleep, it's ok.

It's fine for a couple of nights but the photos make it out to be better than it is. The "spa" was just a massage table and water feature in the corridor, my room certainly didn't look like the pictures, breakfast was very basic, mostly instant noodles with tired veg or bread and the air con was extremely noisy. We also had tiny ants in the sink and they were a bit pushy with the tours on arrival. Overall it was ok, safe, comfortable in a great location but just fell slightly short of expectations.
