This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed at, and I have travelled quite a lot. While the facilities and location are great, it is the people who work here that set this hotel apart from the rest.

I stayed at the Oriental Jade in late July 2024. My partner and I were booked for 3 nights and were due to fly home back to Australia after that. On our last night I got a very severe stomach infection (I believe from eating at a local restaurant, we ate in the hotel each morning with no issues). I was in extreme pain and was barely able to talk, and was on the verge of fainting when I tried to walk. My partner contacted the hotel reception at 2am and requested an ambulance. The receptionist on that night, Son, decided to drive us to the hospital himself so we could leave straight away. Son drove us very carefully to the local hospital. Son came in with us and translated for us, as we were unable to communicate with the staff (they spoke very broken english). We did not ask Son to come in, but he did anyway and was incredible in assisting us. The first hospital were unable to help us and directed us to another hospital further away, and Son then drove us there as well.

It was all a bit of a blur for me over the next few hours, but Son stayed with us in the emergency room and helped us communicate with the doctors. We never asked him to stay and help us, but he was so kind. I can recall him standing near the bed and reassuring me that I would be okay and that the medical staff here were really good. The hospital had very basic care, no blankets, pillows or water. My partner did not want to leave my side, and Son (without being asked again) left and bought me a blanket, pillow and water.

I had to have various tests done at the hospital and Son stayed with us and helped my partner wheel my bed across the hospital to wherever I needed to be. He was so respectful, gentle and caring, I honestly couldn't believe he had stayed with us for so long. I believe he stayed at the hospital for around 4 hours, before being called back to the hotel. At this point my pain had been managed and treatment at the hospital had started, so we were now okay to be on our own.

I honestly still cannot believe that he stayed with us, totally free of charge and helped us so much. It was incredibly scary going to a foreign hospital with such severe symptoms and not being able to communicate with them properly or understand what was happening, and Son made us feel so safe and looked after. I can't thank him enough, I don't know what we would have done without him. We left a physical review at the hotel about what Son did for us, but if management is reading this, please make sure he is looked after, he is one of a kind. He deserves a promotion.

We also had to stay 2 more nights in Hanoi as I wasn't well enough to fly home, and the Oriental Jade extended our stay straight away, adjusting meals to accommodate what I needed to eat while recovering and also giving us a late checkout free of charge so I could continue resting before my flight.

Obviously I would highly recommend booking at the Oriental Jade for any tourist. I believe the level of care we received would be rare to find anywhere else.

I would highly recommend this hotel. The position is great, a very short walk to the lake and in the centre of the old town which is very busy and chaotic.
The front desk staff were superb, recommending restaurants and even offering to fetch the hotels umbrella that we left at the restaurant.
The bar and pool on the top floor had a fantastic view of the city and the food was very good.
The restaurant at breakfast had a separate vegetarian menu and you could order this and eggs directly from the waiters.
There is no CNN or BBC which in retrospect made a very interesting change to watch Asian based news.
The decor in the foyer had an Oriental feel which was very nice- great welcome drinks etc.
We spent a night in Halong bay and the storage of our luggage and movement to the new room was effortless and a pleasure.
We were travelling home from Hanoi and went to the spa for a treatment and after we could shower in comfort.

This is our first visit in Hanoi. Therefore we chose a Hotel that is centrally location. Following some research we decided to choose the Oriental Jade Hotel. This Hotel has many positives and some negatives feelings for us.
Positives :
Excellent customer service
Hotel staff really go out of their ways to ensure you have an enjoyable experience.
The room layout and size is good
Good location for easy walking to many attractions in the old town
The Message Spa service is excellent and the staff is friendly and professional.
Also Hotel provide airport pick up service with a very reasonable price ! It make you feel safe and comfortable when you arrive a new city

However there a few areas in which the Hotel need to improve.
Housekeeping and maintenance they need to pay more attention to details .
The breakfast buffet could provide a bit more variety.
Same as the hotel Restaurant should not only pay attention to the appearance of the food display , but need to make it more flavoursome. Also more local specialities.

Overall our stay in the Hotel is pleasant and we certainly will consider to stay here again and recommend our family and friends if they come to Hanoi.

Especially thanks to Manger Brian Do and his team for making our stay very enjoyable!

We booked this hotel for two nights on our way to a cruise on Ha Long Bay. Without knowing anything about the hotel we left our remaining 3 nights after the cruise open... the service, room and location of this hotel were so good we booked the additional nights here very soon after arrival. They even upgraded us for the return portion of our stay. They offered to store our luggage for us during our cruise so we only needed to take the essentials. They were great at booking our tours, restaurant reservations and even helping out with some difficult airline issues. Great hotel and even better staff. Highly recommend. It is in the old quarter of Hanoi so space is at a premium... as such the rooms are not huge but they are perfectly acceptable and very nice. If you want a view you should pay the small upgrade and ask for a higher floor... oh and the gym and rooftop bar and pool were very nice as well!

So you book a stay in a hotel given a 9.7 rating on the rival website and then a super high rating in Trip Advisor and you think can it be true? Maybe it's a bit like movie reviews on IMdb where new movies are always rated highly when first released. Well, this is a new hotel but I can tell you that it really is absolutely exceptional. The highlights for me are the comfort of the bed, the cleanliness and design of the bathroom, the speed of the elevators, the ease of communication with the staff, the central location and the overall value for money. One area that can be improved is the breakfast, but I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt with the hotel having a much lower than normal COvVID-induced occupancy (no tourists). Well done OHG!

My girlfriend and I went to Hanoi on vacation in December and decided to stay here based on the reviews and they were absolutely true and correct. The location of the hotel is perfect! The breakfast is great! Amenities are cool, the pool isn’t heated but if you go in summer i am sure it is perfect with a. Great view of the lake, it’s exactly what you want, Vivian checked us in and greeted us at the desk with a fresh drink and guided us through the hotel with such warmth that made our arrival very special. We checked out at 4am and Sam had breakfast ready for us as well. We stayed 5 days and every time the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. They will also book the taxi for you to the airport and it is cheaper than the taxi you get yourself at the airport so definitely try to arrange your pick up and drop off though them. We stayed in the “loud” 4 th floor room with street view but we live in nyc to us it was very quiet. It’s walking distance to everywhere! I’m sure if you stay here you will not regret it!

I'd like to start by thanking the lovely staff at the Oriental Jade Hotel for making our stay, in the Hanoi old quarter, very comfortable and relaxing. This amazing team could not do enough to make us feel welcomed.
This was our first time in Hanoi, so when we exited at the airport it was a bit confusing, but the information that the OJH had supplied us, for our transfer, was very clear. As soon we stepped out the arrivals building the OJH rep, for the hotel transfers, came straight to us and followed the protocol exactly. That was very comforting after 12 hour flight.
When we arrived at the hotel all bags were
taken care of and we were led to a comfortable lounge to complete the check in.
The hotel is in a great location, compared to other hotels of similar stature that we had considered staying at, the street is not too busy, but places like the night markets, Lake and Cathedral are all within easy walking distance.
Our room and bathroom were very generous in size and the bed was very comfortable, which is always a relive for a weary traveller 😊😊😊. The room and bathroom were very clean and there were no bad odours.
When came back to our room after our first day of getting to know the area, we were welcomed by a gift of chocolate cake and a bottle of wine, and the bed had been beautifully decorated, I had mentioned that our wedding anniversary was coming up when we checked in, so they must've taken note😁.
The buffet breakfast was excellent. We especially liked having an egg chef and the option of having traditional Vietnamese beef Phó for breakfast. The only suggestion I could make is to improve the temperatures of beverages at breakfast. Juice and milk need to be really cold and coffee and tea nice and hot.
To finish off, OJH is beautiful, comfortable and clean place to stay, with friendly staff that can't do enough for you.
We highly recommend this hotel when staying in Hanoi's old quarter.

We are currently staying at this wonderful little haven in old Hanoi.
No matter how crazy the traffic outside and the noise and the hustle bustle this represents a little oasis of calm.
Lovely location close to Saint Joseph’s cathedral.
Our room is large and well fitted it is one of the ruby city rooms.
The staff at this hotel are absolutely exceptional.
Reception are so helpful.
The breakfast in the restaurant downstairs is really first class and caters for every need. Eggs and omelettes are made to order.
The restaurant is open throughout the day for light meals or full dining.
The hotel organised our transfer from the airport and it was a fair price and prevented us from falling prey to the scam taxis which operate out of Hanoi.
There is a roof top pool and bar but we have been unable to use that due to the cold seasonal weather.
And to top it all today I had a fantastic massage which was very professional and a great price.
I would look no further for anywhere else to stay in Hanoi.
Highly recommended and a great joy to be here.

Service level is every bit as good as in the best 5 star establishments. In fact better in some ways as it included a personal orientation to some of the sites to visit and advice on staying in Hanoi. Also local restaurant recommendations were well chosen.
I was expecting the room to be a bit small because the building is a traditional narrow but long “tube house” of Hanoi’s Old Town, but actually it was perfectly spacious as they made good use of length to give a generous bathroom and bedroom, nicely appointed.
Location is outstanding - 1 minute stroll from Hoan Kiem lake and many sites. I had very little time in Hanoi and fitted in a lot. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Easily the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The service was incredible. We arrived in Hanoi at 6am and the staff let us use the showers and massage tables in the spa to refresh and nap until our room was ready. The room was available early so we got to check in well before lunchtime. The buffet breakfast had an incredible selection of local and western options. The whole hotel was incredibly clean and tidy. We booked several spa treatments and those too were amazing. The rooftop bar and pool has a fantastic view of the lake
