We stayed at San Grand Hotel for our week in Hanoi and couldn't fault the service at all. We were warmly greeted by Nam, who quickly checked us in and served refreshing herbal tea. They brought our luggage up to our rooms, which were clean and relaxing. The beds were comfy, complimentary hot and cold drinks available and bathroom stocked with various toiletries.
Breakfast was delicious and had a vast selection of savoury options, pastries, fresh fruit, hot/cold drinks to help yourself to, and a menu of food available on request. The staff were happy to cater to your preferences and often happy to chat with you. We got to know Susan well, who became familiar with our order and gave great insight into life in Vietnam.
The location was great, with lots of different street foods/massage spa's/tourist spots within walking distance. Also not far from the weekend walking market. Staff provide a map of recommendations as well.
The staff here are so welcoming and friendly, often going above and beyond for us. I would happily come back to stay here and recommend to family and friends!

We really enjoyed our stay. We arrived on an early train and they were happy to let us drop bags, use the washrooms, then come back at 1130 for (free) early check in. We also booked our 'happy hour' 30% off spa massages at this point, for the same afternoon.
Our room was lovely, only downsides were the two-part bathroom door doesn't latch closed, and the tiled section next to the shower, to make the enclosure wider, accumulates a lot of water which then drains onto the floor, and soaks the bathmat and floor. We told the hotel and they said they'll have a look - otherwise, make a dam with a flannel to stop it..!
Spa massages were good and good price, we both had 60 minutes hot stone, and a free healthy juice afterwards, in the restaurant. We then stayed for the complimentary afternoon tea - lovely mini cakes every afternoon, a nice treat.
We had happy hour cocktails in the sky bar as night fell, lovely view over the lake and good cocktails too.
Bed was super comfortable and room AC worked fine.
Breakfast (again in the 10th floor restaurant) was a good selection from the buffet, plus eggs/pho cooked to order.
The hotel were helpful at arranging a rapid laundry service for us, and always friendly and helpful on the phone and at the desk. We wished we had time to stay another night, both in Hanoi and at this hotel!

We stayed in The Lucien Hotel & and Spar for 2 nights on 2 separate occasions. We love this hotel it's location is very convenient right in the centre of the busy busselling heart of the Old Quarter close to the Hoàn Kiếm Lake, restaurants, shops, and water puppet theater. The rooms are large, quiet, spotlessly clean, and well appointed, we slept very well in the large comfortable bed We were able to enjoy the complimentary afternoon tea every day between 2pm - 5.30pm and enjoyed the large range of cakes, fruit, and juice available, Jeff and Dave provided excelent and friendly service going out of their way to make us feel very welcome. The Sky bar has an amazing view, it was a special occasion for my partner and I, and we enjoyed a romantic cocktail or two soaking up the fabulous night time view of the lake it really was magic. The breakfast was amazing with multiple choices to cater for all tastes, we took advantage of the tasty take away breakfast prepared to cater for an early morning departure. What I haven't mentioned is the enthusiastic and friendly service provided by all staff, always with a smile, nothing was any trouble to them, I would especially like to thank Taylor and the reception staff for ensuring our stay was memorable, this obviously reflects on a progressive and dedicated management team.

We spent four days in the Grand Lake View suite. It was probably the best suite my family of three has stayed in, better than some luxury Hyatt and Hilton properties where we paid 3X + more. The staff (Anthony, Emma, Ruby, and the rest of the team) had a customer-first attitude. They booked our day tours - Hanoi Jeep tour and Ninh Binh, transportation needs, and expedited laundry requests on our last night (returned a big load within four hours - cost a fraction of what we would pay in Europe and the States). Also, the complimentary breakfast buffet was excellent.

The Lucien Hotel, formerly known as the O’Gallery Classy Hotel, is a wonderful hotel in the middle of Hanoi’s Old Quarter. I last stayed at this hotel in 2019 and my impression was so good, I booked it again when I returned to Hanoi in November 2022. After being closed for two years due to COVID, the hotel recently reopened.
This hotel is within walking distance to many of the attractions of the Old Quarter, such as Hoan Kiem Lake, the famous Ta Hien Bar Street, and many small shops and restaurants. I have stayed at some five-star international hotels in Hanoi in the past, but the hotels weren’t in a convenient location. The Lucien Hotel is in the middle of it all, which is one of the reasons I like to stay at this hotel.
However, the thing I like the most at this hotel are the staff. The staff (door guys, reception, housekeeping, the bar, and the restaurant) are so friendly and nice, and helpful in every way! I can’t say enough nice things about the staff at the Lucien Hotel. They are amazing!
I would like to give a special thank you to Mia, who is such a delightful person. Mia is so helpful with everything and she’s one of the friendliest people I have ever met in the hospitality industry. She helped us make a report to engineering with a few issues with our room, and she went the extra mile to send something I left in the room to Ho Chi Minh. She took her personal time to pack up my left item and she shipped it to me in Ho Chi Minh. I can’t say thank you enough to Mia!!
I have a few suggestions for the room that we booked, the Senior Suite with balcony. This room comes with a bathtub instead of a shower. As such, there’s no shower hose hanging on the wall, and you have to kneel in the bathtub to wash with the hose. If you stand up, water goes all over the bathroom floor because there’s no shower curtain and the bathtub is very narrow. I suggest that the hotel add a hanger to the wall so that it is easier to shower in the bathtub and I suggest they hang a shower curtain to contain the water while bathing. Additionally, the bath water in our room went from cold to extremely hot during our entire stay. Mia helped us file a report with engineering and I hope that the issues can be resolved for the future guests.
Overall, this hotel is one of the best boutique hotels in Hanoi and I highly recommend it. The staff are among the best in the world! Thank you to the Lucien Hotel for a wonderful stay!

Hotel in the heart of Hanoi's old quarter. In addition to being very central and close to all points of interest, I will remember it above all for the courtesy and kindness of the staff. In particular, I thank Kylie who immediately made sure that we were welcomed in the best possible way, also writing to me on WhatsApp before arrival. Thanks also to Susan from the restaurant where we had breakfast (delicious egg coffee!) and Levi from the reception. The rooms are modern and tastefully furnished, we had an enchanting view of the lake. The breakfast room is located on the tenth floor, also with a panoramic view. In the afternoon there is tea time, not to be missed! Overall 5 star stay 🌟

Hotel in great location, close to Hoan Kiem Lake, Pub Street with its bustling evening atmosphere with plenty of bars and restaurants. Reception staff helpful with restaurant recommendations and local area, special mention to Sam and also Ryan who made us the most delicious cups of tea while we were in the lobby. Breakfast was good with eggs freshly cooked any way with a good selection of cereals and fruit. The views from the restaurant are stunning with views over Hanoi and the Lake. The rooftop bar is a must in the evening and during happy hour, unbelievable views watching the sun setting, and then Hanoi lit up. Our own mistake was our choice of room, we booked a Deluxe double with window, this room was very tight with a sliding door into the bathroom and a very small window which made it quite dark, it had a fridge, TV and safe but it was not an enjoyable room to spend too much time in but the bed was really comfy.
We asked reception if they would check us in for our flight to Hue, they kindly did this, but they failed to add my husbands full name as it is stated in his passport and so he was pulled aside at airport and had to have this information corrected and pay an administration fee, please be aware of this when checking in for onward travel.
We would stay at this hotel again, although we would make sure that we chose a more appropriate room for us.

Marvellous hotel, within 3 mins walk of Hoan Kiem Lake, with spectacular views of the lake from the rooftop bar and restaurant. The breakfast buffet is a perfect start to your day with those views and selection of food. The rooms are classy, big Queen size bed with quality linen and comfortable pillows. Most importantly in Hanoi the aircon is effective and the showers are big with great water pressure (toiletries are provided). The hotel restaurant provides a good selection at reasonable prices,. Or if you want to venture out (not too far in this heat) then “Little Hanoi” restaurant is on ‘Hang Be’ street … about 5 mins walk away for the authentic‘street’ experience - also excellent food. But the hotel gives you 30% off for lunch anyway. Anthony can organise your daytours at great rates (Ninh Binh and Halong Bay are must do!). Mike, Leo, Ruby and Emma are complete professionals who speak English and can help you with most of what you need to know. Thanks to all!

A beautiful hotel located right next to Hoan Kiem Lake, a memorable gift for people from HCM like me. The room price is not high, the room is new and clean, the breakfast is delicious, the restaurant has a view overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake, surprisingly beautiful, the Sky Bar is very beautifulv also, open space overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake, it's wonderful , not many hotels have such a particularly beautiful view like this. The staff are very enthusiastic, they can answer all my questions about restaurants, transportation, information about Hanoi city, tours, etc.

Ruby, very good and kind introduction, also helped a lot, enjoyed my stay here! The staff are very helpful and polite. We had an evening flight and they provided us with shower facilities before we headed to the airport, thank you very much! The rooftop bar is a must-visit with great views. Great location, in the center of everything, surrounded by great food and attractions. My only negative is that the wifi signal in the room is very weak. They offer free breakfast service with a wide variety of western and local food. Will stay again.
