Modem and clean hotel conveniently located at the Old Town area. Restaurants, shopping areas and also the weekend market are within a stone’s throw distance of the hotel.

Staff at the entrance are warm and extremely friendly. This was an important highlight of my stay. When I first entered the hotel we were given a welcome drink (cinnamon tea) and were briefed about Hanoi in general regarding aspects on safety, places to visit and techniques of walking through the busy traffic :)

The general manager (Ian) was very helpful especially with suggestions and arrangements of tours and also airport transfers. However I would advise you to do some prior research before making your booking commitments. That being said, I did book two tours through Ian ( Ninh Binh and also Halong Bay) which were very enjoyable and it was reassuring that we were allowed to settle our payments after completing our tours.

The rooms were very clean and spacious. The first day was marvellous as we were given the welcome fruits :) The TV had plenty of channels and the bed was very wide and comfortable
and there was a functional safety box, a USB outlet (for charging) and a three point socket. The only two setbacks were that firstly there could have been a mirror in the room area that I would have preferred a window to the outside area without necessarily having this as an additional paid option.

The modern bathroom was very clean, had a spacious shower area with excellent water pressure and suitable amenities together with a functioning hair dryer and large mirror. The only minor issue is that the towels could have been more fluffy.

The complimentary buffet breakfast was tasty and strategically located at the roof top. The view from the top was excellent
:) and the times from 6.30am to 10am a comfortable interval.

Overall, Hanoi is a lovely place to visit as it is vibrant, colourful and safe. Imperial Hotel and Spa is a very suitable hotel to stay should you wish to explore the city on foot and to also to conveniently explore the surrounding areas especially if it is your first visit to Hanoi.

We loved our 4-night stay at the Imperial Hotel and Spa in the heart of the Old Quarter. it's where you want to be for easy access (walking distance) to restaurants, shops, and activities. It's a relatively new restoration of an older hotel. Our family room on the 4th floor was large, beautifully decorated, and quiet even though we faced the street. The beds and linens were so comfortable. The bathroom was large by hotel standards and was supplied with a blow dryer and all shower amenities. Breakfast had a large variety of Western and Eastern foods. There were eggs to order, pastries and breads, salads and veggies, pancakes, bacon and sausage, rice and other Chinese dishes, plus yogurt, smoothies, and cereals. From the time we checked in to the time we left, we felt pampered and attended to. Service was excellent - the pleasant doorman who never failed to appear whenever we approached, the ladies at the front desk who answered every question and anticipated every need. Tickets to the Opera theater? Done. Call a taxi? Done. Directions to a restaurant? Done. Hold packages that were delivered? No problem. The day we checked out, the staff was there to say goodbye and presented us with a gift. They could not have provided better service. It was exceptional.

I don't usually review places but this was a very unique experience for me. not only did 5 people rush to the door when we arrived but they helped arrange a better price for our trip to ha long bay (than one on the internet) and then got us an upgraded room for that trip at no cost. Then they offered us a free 1/2 hour massage and upgraded our room as well. The service was wonderful throughout. Then after the 2-day tour, (they let us store our luggage there), they allowed us to use a room to shower and freshen up before our flight and upon leaving gave us a gift (specialty coffee with little metal container) I don't drink coffee but the thought was touching. I have never had this happen to me in 50 years of traveling.

A nice combination of luxury hotel with very friendly non pretentious Vietnamese staff. The rooms are big, nicely furnished, big windows, large bathroom, big enclosed shower, endless hot water, etc. The room and beds are super comfortable. Excellent location for Lake Kiem, Old Quarter shopping, and restaurants. The hotel is precisely managed and everything runs smoothly and works well. The ever present staff is super friendly and always looking for ways to brighten your stay and be of assistance. Ian, the hotel manager, in particular was outstanding with great English and travel assistance skills. He acquired visa extensions for us and advised us on what turned out to be the best part of our travels. We also learned about Vietnamese culture from the hotel staff. Tracy pointed us to local favorite restaurants with authentic Vietnamese devoid of tourists. The hotel porters and wait staff are always smiling. You always feel like a special guest at this hotel. Superb spot for an extended stay.

Stay at the hotel was very good. We had a few minor issues with our room which we raised with staff and they were very helpful and understanding! Nothing was too much to ask for, always greeting and opening doors. When we were leaving the staff assisted us with getting the Grab to the airport - when we needed to change drivers they stayed with us to make sure that we had no issues. Anything that the hotel lacked the staff more than made up for. Would absolutely recommend and it is in the best location - under 10 minute walk to get anywhere that you need to go and the quiet street with less cars and bikes also has restaurants and cafes that are good too. Would absolutely stay again.

Hard to rank order the features that make this such a great place to stay: most days it’s the superior training, competence and genuine hospitality of the staff. Service you’d expect at The Metropole. I’ve stayed here several times, with medical issues arising (sigh) each time, and really was so well-taken care of! One staffer even drove my belongings to my hospital room and offered to stay and help.

You might save $5 or $10/day staying somewhere else but believe me you’ll recoup the diff daily as staff work to prevent or solve problems that may arise. Lost suitcase? Ride from airport? Street blocked for weekend closures when you’re due to arrive: they handle these seamlessly, with patience and friendliness

Another value: really superior breakfasts. A big dining room with rooftop views and a terrace where u can eat and look out over the city.

The rooms are large and immaculately clean. Good AC, wifi, good TV and water pressure all maintained by the 24 hour staff

Much to praise about the location, as well. It’s near the lake (thus easy to navigate to if you’re a newcomer) for daily promenades and in the Old Quarter but on a small and charming street just far enough away from the noise that can sleep with the windows open

So: Staff? Room? Location? Hard to rank but high levels of performance you’d expect in a much more expensive hotel!

First Impressions & Check In:
This hotel was absolutely beautiful and had wonderful customer service. The minute we arrived, a bellhop rushed out and took our bags and brought us tea while we checked in. The lobby and the rooms were beautiful and exactly as advertised. When we arrived, we got upgraded to a nicer room and they even let us check in early around 10 am.

Food:
The room service was excellent and not that expensive, offering a variety of traditional Vietnamese and Western style options. The breakfast, served on the 8th floor overlooking the district, was also very good, serving dishes like eggs, croissants, french toast, fruit, yogurt and cheese in a buffet style setting.

Location:
The location was very convenient and right by the lake, so very central in the Old Quarter.

Staff & Service:
Every time we sat down in the lobby, the bell hop would bring us a glass of water and the concierge was extremely helpful in booking a tour to Ninh Binh for the day.

Personal Thoughts:
This hotel has a lovely attention to detail and were very attentive with their guests. Definitely one of the better hotels we stayed at during our ten-day trip in Vietnam!

At check in we were warmly welcomed and the lovely staff spent time to talk us through Hà Nội. The rooms are well furnished with everything you need. The hotel is well located within walking distance to most tourist attractions and good restaurants. Breakfast is good in the hotel and based on the top floor giving good views of the city.

We stayed just for one night before doing a 3 day trip to Ha Long Bay. On our return from HaLong Bay the hotel arranged an onward car for us and allowed us to use a room to shower, free of charge.

The staff are extremely friendly and catered to all our needs.

Highly recommend. Very friendly and professional staff. Clean and comfortable room. Nice buffet breakfast. Spa was also nice and professional( We had body and facial 60 min each). We stayed for 3 nights. They were also taking possible measurements to prevent Coronavirus which made us feel safe. For us it was important to travel safe under this circumstance. They check guests temperature at check in and they say they sanitize often the entire hotel. And special experience for me with the hotel was that after checking out and arriving at airport, I realized I forgot my passport in my hotel room and didn’t have time to go back. I called and asked the hotel to bring it, which is about 40 min drive. The friendly staff were so helpful and they did in time and I could catch the flight. I couldn’t expect any better stay in Hanoi. Thank you Imperial Hotel Hanoi!

I only stayed at the Imperial Hotel for a brief overnight on my way to Ha Long Bay, but I wish I had chosen it for a longer stay! Starting with the very hands-on service at check-in, with lovely tea and snacks, every interaction with the staff was first rate! The location on the west side of the lake was ultimately convenient for a quick walk in the evening and a quick breakfast in the morning. The room was quite spacious and comfortable, with a giant bathro; everything worked very well. Best of all, it was one of the best values during my entire trip!
