I'm surprised at seeing all the reviews. Perhaps the other guests did not stay at the room we had! It was the first time where we had to squeeze ourselves through the shower door just to get into the shower. We're not very skinny people :) The WC was blocking the shower door which opens outwards. Lucky we swapped rooms with our parents otherwise they won't be able to use the shower. The room we were assigned to was really narrow, a queen bed with barely any walking space beside it so you literally have to climb in from the foot of the bed! It was good for a night's stay. Lucky the bed was comfy. The best thing about this place were the staff and the owner. They were really hospitable and they were really good because they had to put up with someone else in our travel group who can be very fussy. They went all the way to make sure you are comfortable and can arrange tours for you around the area as the owner also runs a tour agency. Very convenient! We explored the area outside the hotel. There were shops selling flowers and some shops selling CNY decor. We didn't venture far as it was dark and too many motorcycles zooming around. There were a few restaurants around the area serving authentic vietnamese food. Pho bo nearby the hotel was great! There's also a convenience store further down the road. The breakfast was good. We stayed at this hotel again when we returned back from Sapa. They allowed us to use a room to freshen up after spending a night on the sleeper train. Price is very very reasonable so if you are on a budget, this is recommended just make sure you book the bigger room. I'd recommend staying at the owner's other hotel nearby the church. That location is way more central and there are many shops around the area.…
We had a wonderful wonderful stay at Mayflower Hotel. We're most impressed by the the extraordinary customer service by all the super friendly, smiley and helpful staff！ The free breakfast came with a good variety of Vietnamese and Western food choices and they seriously tasted really good! The location of the hotel is also perfect, very happening with nice old Hanoi charm. Lots of eateries and shops . We stayed at the hotel in Dec 2019 and the streets that sell all sorts of Chritmassy stuff are just around the corner. We even bought a Christmas tree plus other ornaments back home because they were nice and cheap. Lots of shops that sell artificial flowers outside the hotel too. Highly recommended!
It is a small hotel but cozy and clean. The staff was very helpful and polite. The room is comfortable and spacious and fit all 4 (with my 2 little kids) of us. It is not far away from Hoan Kiem lake and surroundings are full of shops. It is in the heart of old quarter and walking distant to markets and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay there.
This hotel is right in the middle of the old quarter. Great if you want to go to the market, bars and restaurants. Being of the slightly older travelers, we wished we'd stayed a bit further out as the constant traffic of Hanoi old quarter we found rather aggravating. The rooms are fine though the showers were of an awkward shape. What makes this hotel worthy of my 4 stars is the kindness, help and attention of the staff. The people on reception helped us immensely, we stayed there 4 times between going on different trips, they looked after our luggage whilst away. Every time we returned, we were welcomed back with tea by the lovely bell boy. We left to come home early in the morning and, unasked for, they packed is up a breakfast. They made it a memorable stay
The hotel is situated at a central location which is accessible for all your needs, you can find everything you want in and around the hotel. The hotel staff are very kindly and helpful in assisting with tours around the city. And they serve good quality breakfast as well It was overall a good place to stay at.
