Hotel Bendecir is in a great location, it has great helpful and friendly staff, a good varied breakfast offering, and it’s very quiet—in a very noisy city. Overall it’s a great hotel that I would recommend to others wanting to be located in central Hanoi. The only reservation I have relates to one of the rooms we stayed in. (Our stayed in tow rooms, each for two nights with a trip to Ha Long Bay in the middle). The first room, on the 7th floor was exceptionally good, and if the second room was equivalent to that this review would be 5 stars. The second room, on the 8th floor, was disappointing. It had probably the worst designed bathroom we have ever seen in a hotel. The shower was right next to the toilet with not even a glass wall—it even a shower curtain—separating them. There was a curtain, but this only provided a barrier to the sink, not the toilet.

The Bendecir used to be our favorite hotel in Hanoi. No wonder we have been coming twice a year since before Covid. Not sure if there was a change in ownership or management but our recent stay was a complete disaster. After arriving into our room and unpacking our stuff, we found the room warm and stuffy. So, we tried to turn on the air-con, but only heat came out. I ended calling the reception and I was told since it’s the winter month the Aircon is set to “heat” only and I should open the window if I needed cooler air. I opened the window next to the busy street. it is so loud and the air pollution was bad and it was in the high 70’s. At this point I was ready to check out, but the lady agreed to turn on the Aircon since no one was using the heat. Things went down hill from there. The WiFi when it was working was so slow, I could not even view my Facebook messages. I mentioned this to the staff and they said it was string outside my door. So, at most times I had to sit in the hallway on the floor to do my work emails. After day 4, I mentioned it again and they said the hotel was fully booked and that’s why the reason why it is so slow. The next day we were ready to check out and get a refund because the breakfast room was overcrowded, dirty, the food trays were empty, the food on display was cold and dirty dishes piling up everywhere…. While the staff was occupying a guest table having breakfast. There was no clean silverware, no coffee cups or juice glasses…. The table placemats have not been cleaned in days and the carpet was disgusting from spilled food or drinks We tried different times of the morning to see if there was a change, but there was not much difference. We met and spoken to other guests and they expressed their disappointment with this hotel since they had dirty linen, clogged plumbing and bugs in their rooms. We didn’t experience any of that. Except I don’t think housekeeping ever mops the floor with soap and water. I had spilled some water by accident from my bottle and cleaned it up with a town and the towel was so filthy after. Otherwise I always wear my room slippers, so I was not concerned about that. Now we moved rooms to a higher floor and the WiFi was a bit stronger, when it works… I was told I should do my work in the breakfast room or roof top bar since the WiFi is strong there. That room is already overcrowded in the first place. After exploring northern Vietnam, we were suppose to return here, but we had canceled our booking and reserved a different hotel that is much quieter, cleaner and has reliable WiFi….. The reception staff is absolutely lovely and you can’t get mad at them. The breakfast staff will do anything to make you happy but it’s overcrowded in that small space and the carpet is so disgustingly dirty and sticky. I also don’t think the staff should use up valuable table space to have a breakfast break while guests are standing in the short hallway by the elevator to have their meal. Breakfast is over at 9:30, why not eat at that time with the rest of the stuff….? We also had another booking for October for 3 weeks at this hotel (yes, we really love and enjoy Hanoi) but we also canceled that and rebooked it with another hotel. We hope the owner of this hotel will take our review to heart and turn this place back to its original superior standards. Because for now, the prices went up but the quality went way down. So sad…..

It's recommended to stay in the Old Quarter area at Hanoi as it is convenient, safer and tourists friendly. Offers access to multiple options of restaurants, shopping and travel agencies to book for Ninh Binh and Halongbay. The hotels in Old quarters are small, boutique, and tucked in between shops or restaurants. The rooms are smaller and good for travellers who spend most of their time outside their hotel. Bendecir Hotel located on Lo Su street has a very small reception area manned by English speaking and very polite well trained staff. While selecting the rooms choose rooms that have a size above 36 sq mt ( Superior Kings double) . Though it's a 4 star hotel the rooms are comfortable (not lavish or indulgent). The rooms and bathrooms are clean and the HK staff are very good. They serve a very lavish western breakfast on the 13th floor. The restaurant is small and can handle only 30 guests at a time. Breakfast time 6.30 am to 9.30 am. The restaurant staff are extremely polite and offer excellent services. The hotel has a spa as well. At the reception guests can book trips to Halongbay, Ninh Binh and Sapa. Over all a good and efficient hotel not a lavish and indulgent 4 star hotel.

Excellent hotel in the heart of Hanoi. We stayed in this hotel as well as The Chi boutique hotel and the la Mejor hotel in Hanoi and I must say the others were better. Rooms in Bendecir are quite small. No space to move around after two people occupy the room. Other than that customer service is good and no complaints. If you get one of the other hotels booked that one. This would be third on our list.

The staff was amazing. I didn’t get to have breakfast due to a power outage to the area, but decided to try something I saw on the street, being ordered by the locals - one of the girls at the front took the time to go with me and explain what it was and ordered one for me. 🥰. The hotel is located near the lake close to everything and fairly quiet at night.

Lovely hotel in perfect location. Sky bar on 14th floor a highlight. Barman, Harry was great. All staff were very friendly and professional. We came and went 3 times, as we went to Sapa, then Halong Bay. They welcomed us back each time and remembered our names. It felt like coming home! Great room and views. Would definitely stay there again.

Really really friendly and accommodating staff. We turned up at 7 am and asked if we could get a room early and they had one ready for us by 8:30. Room was comfortable and a good size. Helpful door staff who helped with a bags a lot and they were happy to keep our bags whilst we went out when waiting for our room. The only thing we’d say is that the breakfast wasn’t great. Other than that, would definitely stay there again!
