Once again there should be a rating between Average and Very Good, as this is what I would rate the Moon View. The staff were nice and the rooms are a good size and clean, we only ate breakfast at the hotel and the buffet selection was very good indeed. The location is on a very busy street especially when school is finishing, but there are handy things around such as an ATM right next door and some good eateries and small convenience stores close. One really baffling thing was the roof top bar, well it's an outdoor area on the roof with a small bar inside, that does not really want to be a bar. The view at night is fantastic but attempts to get a drink were given up after one beer as they only had 3 in the fridge and there were 3 people who wanted one. Asking for a white wine resulted in being offered Gin and a return visit 2 nights later saw the place locked up prior to 9.30pm. It's a shame as I believe it is something they should really promote. Perhaps taking a small cooler bag and getting a few beers from one of the convenience stores and get up the roof about 7pm might be the way to go.

Cheap rates, good rooms, very helpful staff but food less than average and location is not in great part of town. On plus side it’s located only about 10 minute walk from Train Street and 15 minutes from Hanoi Lake area. I would stay here again as it is very good value.

The second time I stayed here and it has been fine as the first time I have tried everything here.

The hotel, the staff, the breakfast are very nice. My room can have a city night view and I can enjoy the fresh air in the hot weather like Hanoi.

Around you can find lots of shops selling traditional cakes of Hanoi to bring home. Such a wonderful place to stay for your trip.

We stayed here for two nights and was two nights too long. The room we had on the first night was literally like concrete! The tv didn't work let alone air conditioning. We were moved to a 'softer' pair of beds for the second night but alas to no avail. The staff are pleasant, the photos on the site have been taken with excellent lighting and angles. The street is out of the way and out of old hanoi. It is not a convenient location at all. It is a shame that not attending to the basics of the room left a nasty taste in our mouths. Don't look out the window - it is a brick wall.

Located close to west lake a bit outside the city center you find this not more than mediocre hotel. Rooms are spacious but not very clean by western standards. The restaurant on the upper floor looks old and needs renovation. Quality of the food is average although you do have an ok choice of dishes and fresh made eggs. It’s not a bad hotel but clearly low(er) end and looks deprecated

We stayed in this hotel while in Hanoi. Its pretty old, not a great location. Building site on opposite side of the road. The room was clean but very dated. Stairs and facilities were pretty dirty . There are better hotels in the area for a lot cheaper.

Stayed in this hotel in two different rooms before and after trip to Ha Long. Both times the rooms were dirty. Bed linen were changed (i think) but the floors had not been swept of mopped. Long black hairs on the floor, not mine and the taps were filthy. I complained and showed photos to the reception who apologised on behalf of the management. I would not recommend this hotel.

My friend and I stayed at Moon View Hotel twice as part of our tour package and during our stay in Hanoi in April 2019. Unfourtantly, we were not impressed by the staff, service or location.

Upon arrival, after an exhausting day, we were provided with average service and with the wrong room key card. We were then presented with the wrong bedding layout in the room. The first set of rooms we were provided with during our first stay was quite large but outdated and dark. When we asked if a package had arrived from our tour company (as informed by the tour group) the guy at the desk was unhelp and told us that it was not their problem. They also kept our passports from us when we arrived to photocopy and informed us they would provide it later. As a tourist, this is always an uncomfortable experience. We had no help with our luggage upon arrival or departure by the hotel.

During our second stay with the tour, the room provided was slightly more modern. However, the service again was average. The guy at the reception had an attitude problem. He was unhelpful and grumpy when asked a question. The location itself was quite far and walking distance from the Old Quarter.

I stay with my family here last week, everything perfect.
Reasonable price, friendly staff, clean room. View from my room is very nice.
You should stay from the 6th floor to have nicer view.
Breakfast is ok with multiple choice.

If your trusty travel agent takes it upon themselves to recommend a hotel in Hanoi with a name like Bro and Sis it's an obvious acknowledgement that you are travellers with a certain sense of adventure. We wanted a place central enough to be able to wander at will, eat the local delicacies, drink the local beer and immerse ourselves in the culture. There's nothing wrong with the Sofitel, it's a perfectly grand hotel, but we turned it down in favour of Bro Sis', the two hotels are no more than a few minutes apart. We hired our taxi that the tourist information booth at the Airport in Hanoi. Be warned, it's quite a substantial drive from the Airport to the city of Hanoi. It will cost about 60 to 70 dollars and it's a good idea to book a two way trip. The taxi will be waiting at the allotted time for your return home.

Our immediate impression when the taxi pulled up at the hotel was that we'd been brought to the wrong place. The hotel we were to be staying at he's now called the Moonview, and it Is A bright clean recently renovated and modern hotel, and yes, its previous name was Bro and Sis'.

One of the less obvious advantages of this beautiful little hotel is the fact that it is sandwiched between an open fronted and cafe to the left, and the bank with adequate ATMs. You will quickly learn that working ATMs are not common in Hanoi.

The room was spotless and spacious. The bed was big and comfortable, there were lots of TV channels to choose from, and many of those in English. Internet was very fast and free, with a free Wi-Fi should you want to check your emails or browse the Internet while eating in the restaurant or curled up in a quiet nook at the well stocked bar on the ground floor. The Moonview was certainly a pleasant surprise. For $60.00 a night, including breakfasts you would be hard pressed to find much to complain about. The Vietnamese are naturally friendly and accommodating. This is a country where smiles and courtesy cost nothing. The treatment we received from the staff was just magnificent. Communication was no difficulty, English, while sometimes a little jumbled is spoken to a greater or lesser degree buy all the staff in the foyer. You are always greeted when leaving or entering the hotel with a pleasant smile, and a genuine smile at that. Doors are opened, taxis called and instructions given, and there is a genuine concern that you, as their guests are not taken advantage of by unscrupulous citizens.

Perhaps we were fortunate, but at night gazing out the window to the west we were treated to a view that made the hotel's new name perfectly apt. A big beautiful full moon rising over the skyline. In the absence of anything to complain about, that is, everything worked, the water was hot for a shower, the room was made up quickly and efficiently in the morning, and our week in Hanoi was made all the more enjoyable for having stayed at the moonview, I'm going to rate it a rare five stars. We will stay there again.
