We group of 20 stayed for 1 Night. Actually I loved this hotel. Rooms - Service - Breakfast - All staff everything was just perfect but may be the only drawback is that this hotel located on hill area, so if you want to come to main road or market then all the way you have to walk down and again on way back needs to climb up quite a lott.

The views from this hotel of the bay are great if you have a room on the correct side of the hotel.

That said, there are a couple issues to be aware of. Not that the hotel can do anything about it, there is loud music on the bay which can be heard in the room until late at night. Also, the bed was hard as a rock. Something was wrong with the shower and water leaked badly all over the floor.

Otherwise, the room was spacious with a nice balcony and a view of the bay.

We stayed for one night, ate dinner and partake in following morning’s buffet breakfast. The pros are beautiful hotel lobby, lovely large room, fantastic view of Ha Long Bay from 10th floor balcony, and delightful hotel dinner. The cons are flooded floor from poorly designed shower, can hear loud club music into the night, and limited selections at buffet breakfast.

This hotel has fantastic views of Halong Bay. There are some shops and restaurants within walking distance, but most of Vietnam is still closed from Covid. Try to get a bay side room, so you can enjoy views of Halong Bay from your balcony.

This is a beautiful hotel with fabulous views of the bay. But it fails in two of the most important things a hotel is for.

The bed is absolutely rock hard, so we didn't sleep well.

The shower is horribly designed, so that the entire bathroom is drenched when it's used.

Loved this hotel. The room was so nice, and we had a view of the bay with a balcony. The bathtub is deep and very comfortable. The beds were also very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. We also had dinner and breakfast in the hotel. Both were very good.

The Saigon Halong Hotel is luxurious by Vietnamese standards. It is near Halong bay, which is absolutely beautiful. The hotel has a friendly and professional staff, and the rooms have nice amenities.

A problem that I had with the place is that the air conditioning barely worked. I was there in July, and found myself sweaty even after taking a shower. Calling the front desk did not help. They sent somebody up who did nothing about it. I had them send somebody else up. He felt the vent with his hand, decided it was cool, and had no idea what to do. I told him to go get a thermometer so he can check for himself and measure how hot the room was. But that was asking too much. They eventually admitted that half the air conditioning system was turned off, supposedly due to low occupancy, but they assured me that they turned it on and the room would cool down. It never did. Perhaps the place would be nice in December, but I would not recommend it in July.

Another issue was with the hot water. At one point, somebody came to the room to apologize for the lack of hot water and to fix the problem. But there had not been a problem. At a later point, there was a problem with no hot water. The water was also very hard.

This hotel has no non-smoking facilities. The room itself was quite pleasant and not at all smoky, but they did not offer non-smoking rooms. They also had huge dining facilities, and although the main room in one of the facilities was smoky and stuffy, I was able to find another room that was comfortable and smoke free. But since there was no policy, it was a matter of luck. It would be easy for them to change their standard without inconveniencing anybody, but for now, its dining halls are potentially stuffy. Aside from that, the dining facilities were nice, and they offered a nice complimentary buffet for breakfast.

The rest of the staff was professional and courteous. I needed an English speaking tour guide, and the hotel provided me with one, who was actually one of the staff members there. She normally greeted people, but they were willing to change her position for a steep (by Vietnamese standards) $40 per day. She was very professional and was good to have along on my tour of the bay.

Been there two nights and every thing is good in general. The hotel itself is big and clean. Staff was polite. We got a room in front with beautiful view to the beach. Comfy bed, good a/c, nice bathroom but water pressure was a bit weak and slow. While we stayed here, they got some construction with big noise in the daytime right under our rooms.

They has two separate restaurants, I thought. The restaurant was at 13 floor of course with nice view but quite out of dated decor. The food isn’t too bad but very simple.

I might come back with smaller group and hope the next visit, our experience would be better.

Answer from Mohamad Nizam M
if you are going to cruise in ha long, a lot of package tour offer direct transport to and from hanoi. if you are going to take a public transport, it is going to be messy. never mind the train. it takes too long. the cheapest way is the bus . you can take a bus from Gia Lam or Luong Yen Stations in Hanoi. they go to Ha Long but remember to ask them to drop you at BAI CHAY BUS STATION. ha long is the name of the whole area. bai chay is the city centre. but bai chay bus station is a little bit far away from the city itself. but thats the closest. if you dont tell them. you might end up in MONGKHAI. very far away. from bai chay, negotiate taxi to saigon halong. make sure take only MAI LINH TAXI SERVICE. they use metre, non negotiable, and they add 10,000 for highway charge.
