This is an extremely nice hotel. The staff is very friendly and their service is very good. No one was hesitant to help us with any information we required. A bit on the pricy side, but you definitely get what you pay for. We had a bit of an issue with our television, but if you are able to look past that, everything was perfect.

We stayed here by chance due to bad whether resulting in our cruise cut short. We were so impressed by the hotel. We gor a "Romantic" room and it was really special, clean, spacious and well furnished.

Will definitely recommend it.

This hotel is very grand. It is clean and very well decorated. It is right infront of Ha Longs market and the fishing Area, but a taxi ride away from the beach. ($4). If you stay here make sure you go to the roof at sun set, the view will take your breath away! The staff didn't speak English too well, but they were very friendly.

When booking this hotel, we saw the beautiful photos posted by others only to get a rude shock when we walked through the doors. Thinking we had booked at the palace we were informed there were two hotels operating under the same name. (we're in the dodgy run down property) The receptionist barely spoke English, and demanded they keep not only a copy but also our passports in an unsecured drawer. Once our room was ready we came in to find liquids on the floor, stained dirty sheets and a musk smell throughout the room. Although the views are stunning. We've cut our 3 day stay here to just one night. Leaving a dark impression on halong bay! If we had another go at it we would stay in hanoi and book book through a travel agent to go straight onto a junk boat and back to hanoi.

We thought this was a lovely hotel. It is quite new, our bedroom was very comfortable and the hotel breakfast was the best selection we have had in Vietnam. We used the hotel restaurant (although we're not keen because the menu in our room was very limited, it turned out this was the room service menu). Our meal was lovely and had we seen a menu earlier would have used the restaurant more. Our only fault with this hotel is its location? It is in Halong City rather than Halong Bay. We could only find 3 restaurants, all buffet style, 2 burger bars and Pizza Hut. The hotel is a 15 minute taxi ride from where the boats leave to cruise the bay. We didn't find any other attractions except the bay. None the less fantastic hotel!

This place is a joke of a hotel. Do NOT stay here.

First of all they really buff their location by saying they are minutes from the boats to Ha Long. By minutes they mean being separated by a bridge and a 100,000 dong taxi ride. There is nothing to do around the hotel, so your'e kind of stuck inside.
My room was bleh, broken furniture, and a cold shower.
The staff cannot speak a word of english, so beware. I was called from the lobby and was told my passport (which they collect at check-in), had expired. Surely I would not come to Asia on an expired passport, so I had a look. My passport does not expire until 2020, so I was not sure what they were missing. My frustration also came because they called me down at 9:30pm, and I was already tucked into bed. I am not sure if whatever issue was there was resolved, they just could not understand.

Beware of check out! Their credit card machine does not work! I had a 1pm bus to catch and went down to checkout at 12:30. After informing me I cannot pay with my credit card they asked me to catch a cab 3km away to go to an ATM (with heavy traffic outside FYI) and not reimburse me for the cab ride. I was getting quite furious since I now was in quite a hurry. I realized they had my cc number on file so I just grabbed my bags and left, since it wasn't going anywhere with the staff and I was not about to miss my bus.
Upon leaving, one of the staff tried pulling my suitcase out of my hands, as if to stop me. I told them very calmly, "you can charge my card as soon as you fix your machine, I cannot miss my bus right now." I was screamed at in Vietnamese, with no clue what they expected me to do. As a hotel with 9 floors, and many guests, they need to have a functioning cc machine, that is not my problem that they cannot figure out how to manage a hotel.

Overall, STAY away, do not book here!!! ever!!! Even if it is just for one night, there are far more better hotels in Ha Long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I stayed with 2 friends for 2 nights. The room was comfortable, clean enough. The staff is friendly, the breakfast and restaurant were good. The bus shuttle to Hanoi was good, with air conditioner.
The best thing was the location. It is in Hon Gai, far away from the tourist centre of Ha Long (15-20km away from the havens where the boats depart for the tours). So next to the hotel was the fish/ sea food market, and a further 5 minutes walk would take us to a hauntingly beautiful sight of the Ha Long Bay. There, you can see fishing boats and people living on them in front of the amazing rock mountains. By night the sea shines with little lights from the boats. There was a tranquilness and beauty I didn't experience on the boat tour in Ha Long (that was full of touristic boats and tourists).

We stayed here for two nights to explore Ha Long Bay. The staff are friendly, helpful and can speak English. They helped us organise to go on a tour of Ha Long Bay the night before.

The room is smallish but is packed full of furniture. The bed is a lot softer than most we have experienced in Vietnam. Downsides of the room was that their was a smell of cigarette smoke and the sheets were stained.

On the top floor the is a gym with basic equipment, but the is a sitting area out of the roof which provides a fantastic look over the bay and is a great place to watch the sunset from.

Breakfast is buffet style with eggs made to order.

The hotel is extremely close to the markets and Vinmart.
