Best stay at Ha Long DC! The rooms were spacious and clean - cleaned well everyday by the staff. The staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay as well.

Facilities were great - breakfast had many fresh and different options each day with Asian cuisine, egg station and fresh fruit.

A great stay here, will definitely be returning!

Stayed here before my Halong Bay tour and it was a really great hotel. The breakfast was tasty the rooms comfy, the service good and the views over Halong bay were phenomenal. I loved Vietnam - can't wait to go back.

my friends booked this hotel without looking at its location. It is very far from the bus stop, we took a taxi 150 000 VND from the Ha Long bus stop to get to the hotel. In the evening, it is too difficult to find a restaurant nearby. We had to walk 20 mins and saw some hot pot and seafood restaurant without menu. The hotel price is quite expensive, I paid 55 usd for a single room, very small, but the buffet breakfast was quite good and the service is nice.

We stayed here with a tour group two weeks ago for one night and was amazed by the size of the hotel room + the view of Ha Long Bay. It felt like a Vegas sized room.

However, despite all the rage about the room and breath-taking views, what left a bad taste in my mouth was the customer service. Upon check out, the front desk staff accused us of taking two hand towels and one water bottle from the room. We were shocked by their baseless accusations and had to spend twenty minutes arguing with the front desk staff.

Our confrontation with the front desk made our tour group late for its itinerary and we ended up paying 20,000 VND for the water bottle that we did NOT TAKE so that our group could depart.

I am bewildered that the staff at an alleged four star hotel would resort to such low practices. Would NOT recommend staying here period.

We rely heavily on the feedbacks on this site and was cursing myself for trusting those who written the below reviews. 5star reviews for a spacious room and all that are total bull, if you build a hotel in the middle of no where of course you have tonnes of space. Every single hotels in ha long is facing the bay so those comments that you can have a great view is just moot point.

They barely speak any English, no sense of services. And there really is nothing nearby so you try to communicate yourself out of the hotel is a challenge. It's far from everywhere else and you also get scammed by taxi drivers. The only restaurant nearby is 20mins walk and the menu has no price on it, good luck arguing once the bill hit your face.

A trip to boat station or the buzz is around 100-120k vnd which is usd5-6, it may seem nothing when you read this but the time you need to find the taxi, to drive you there, to explain where u want to go, to argue you are indeed not heading in the opposite direction, to have them not overcharge you etc...why you want all this stress?

Apart from us only Vietnamese stay here.

We loved it. Great rooms with great views and lovely well presented meals. We would have preferred an outdoor pool to an indoor one but you cannot have everything. There is a great bar/café on the top floor where you can enjoy reasonably priced drinks and watch the world go by. The town has interesting temples, cafes, bars, restaurants and a nice little harbour where the ferries set off from, plus a fish market that is a real experience. We took a bike ride along the promenade that literally goes for miles and we got to see lime stone pinnacles as well we saw them from our boat trip.

Wasn't sure what to expect from the hotel as many of the reviews were luke warm. It's true that it needs a bit of an upgrade to its decor, much of it is looking tired. However, if you've stayed in any chain US hotels then the experience is broadly similar. Rooms are big, showers too. Views out of the window are pretty cool, too as it's probably the tallest building in this part of town. Breakfast here can be a bit of a scrum as can be typical of SE Asia hotels when big Chinese groups are staying. Food was OK. The location suited me as I'm always keen to look around on foot and it's close to the main market and the fishing port where they land their catch. Spent a good half day just watching local life go on, plenty of colour if you like taking pictures. If you like shopping malls then Vincom Plaza is just around the corner. Was originally tempted to stay at one of the more resort hotels, glad I didn't.

The hotel is located across the bridge from the centre of the tourist area of Halong - you do get better views, but are further from day trips etc. We stayed at this hotel fro 3 nights in spring as a group of friends.
On arrival, the person checking us in could not speak a lot of English (despite claiming to be English speaking on the website), making it difficult to find out more information about the area. We were given very brief information about the hotel such as breakfast timings etc, but considering this hotel is 21 storeys high, I think they could have signposted us to their services better.
There was also no information in the room, such as what time the pool is open, when food is served, if there was any room service etc.
The room itself was 4*. It was a suite with one single and one double bedroom, which shared a large communal lounge, and a comprehensive bathroom. There was a large TV in the lounge and one in the double bedroom, and 2 of the walls were landscape windows looking out over Ha Long Bay, and the incredible islands. The room came with complementary water bottles, tea and coffee, which was restocked daily.
The room was cleaned daily, but very basic and not as tidy as other hotels.
We tried to have lunch in the Dupin Bar at about 2pm one day but was told there was no food now. The next day we asked at the front desk and found out that food is served from 7am - 11pm.
Because the hotel staff did not give any information about local amenities and restaurants, we could not find many places for dinner, and ended up eating in the hotel restaurant one night. This was a completely bizarre experience, as we were the only people in the restaurant, which was dark, and the food was to a very low standard. We could see a door to a kitchen in the restaurant - but this was not where the food was being prepared. It tasted more like it came from a microwave.
The next night, once again not being able to find anywhere suitable to eat out, we ate in the bar. Again the food was edible, but lazy, and overpriced for what it was. Once again, the food was not prepared in the bar - it was brought upstairs covered in cling film. One meal was a pizza, which tasted like a frozen meal. Seafood noodles had an OK flavour, but the seafood was chewy and hard - worrying for squid and prawns. The steak which was specifically requested well done was served medium rare.
When we arrived at the hotel, one of the first questions we asked was about boat trips to the island, and we were told that a travel representative would be available in the lobby from 8am. When we went downstairs at about 9am, there was no sign of anybody. A member of staff then told us she comes in at 2pm. However as we returned to the hotel at 11am, the travel lady was there talking to a group of people - and of course when we went down to see her after lunch, she was gone. Either the staff did not understand our questions at all, have severe lack of communication, or just make things up!

If you know exactly what you are planning to do during your time in Halong, this hotel would be a good base to explore from as the rooms are great - but not a helpful hotel if you need more advice on what to do in the area.

Ha Long Bay itself is a strange place - absolutely fantastic if you're out on the water visiting islands, but nothing to visit on land for Western Tourists. A huge stretch of the seafront is currently a building site.

Would recommend taking a cruise instead of staying in a hotel.

Hotel was great. Booked this hotel through our touring company. Pros: the room felt it was a good 4 star hotel. The cleanness the set up, the bed. Everything was great.

Cons: was on a different island then where the actual night life at the ha long Bay Area. So food and looking around was limited. The views were great. But the windows needed to be cleaned more often.... Due to my room didn't have a balcony. My friends did.

Other then that. This hotel was good for the 1 night rest I needed before heading into the ha long boat trip.
