After hot and sweaty and hussle bassle day around pattaya and jomtien, this is the place you want to come back to. It really was a piece of quiet tranquil little green oasis where you can just relax and unwind after all the "sightseeing" in busy pattaya. Jean-louis and Jesus were the perfect hosts are very helpful to show us how to get around and all the "sights". all the staff are very friendly and made us a very nice brekky in the morning. We stayed in the standard room. The room is clean and just perfect, nothing extravaganza and nothing wonky. One wall in the room is a gallss window atrium (living wall) with small fountain and great to wake up to in the morning.

This is definitely not for a party animal that want to bring the "bar" back or for family with young children - this would disturb the tranquility and probably the other guests. during our stay, we spoke to a guy that have been there for 8 times!!!! and we are not surprised at all. that show how this place are just perfect for if you want some peace and tranquility to escape to.

le prive has no restaurant as such but has relaxing bar area with comfy chairs and can whip up a great continental or american style breakfast at just about any time of the day. at night there are restaurant at the end of the soi only 2 minutes walk away.

Jesus and Jean Claude and all the rest of the stuff offer an excellent, friendly and what is most important an personal service to all their guests. The location, the rooms and the whole area around is a fantastic view for your eyes. Breakfast is perfect and delicios. The hotel is situated that you can be very shortly to the gay-zone sunny placa, boy-zone and jomtin. Our stay was personal and we are sure to come back next year for a longer stay. Thanks for your hospitality. Gert and Ingo from germany, located in Kassel.

Probably the worst ever stay in a hotel in our life. After the check in usually the guests are greeted with welcome drink or some nice gestures, since we drink milk tea only and there were only two tea bags so we asks for two more, and the owner promptly comments to his valuable guests,' oh you want free tea?'with more stress on word FREE. Hey we are paying our hard earned money to stay, it is not free!Interestingly there is no one to serve you paid tea also, lol. No telephone in the room. After the warm welcome we find that the flush of toilet is not working. I go out to look but no one there, waits for about 30 minutes and a gardener comes, who also happens to be care taker I think. He doesn't know a single word of English. He also tries his luck and calls a lady. She does the job but doesn't forget to teach us how to use the toilet flush lol. There are caged birds, a common hill mynah, which is really endangered now, and as wildlifer I am not sure what status they have in Thailand but caged birds are not a cup of tea for nature lover. Sad. In all , no service , no warmth and no feel. Few more interesting things, the kettle provided to boil water for FREE tea does not have a plug nearby, we search for the gardener, who after 15 minutes of deep search says NO. so we pull out one of table lamps and makes our FREE tea. The room is so small that you can hardly walk. Yes the garden is wow, the owner has used his energies a lot there. Each plant is placed consciously. Green lights in night on plants, it is spiritual. Hospitality is the key to hotel industry. If we go to a hotel and asks for tea bag, the house keeper gives you 10. But here no house keeper, no warmth, a place which could also be heaven for the guests turns out to be a place where you do not want to go again because you are not treated well..
one more funny thing in order to save money the owner uses LPG geyser which is mazing.. it makes sound like on n off and when its on the water is hot for say few seconds followed by cold water lol.. and so on.. you will never get warm water regularly here

Ok, I'm a bit torn. The place is actually very nice with a detailed decorated garden that is worth a visit. The owners are very friendly as well. The thing is, that's about it and for that you pay THB 2,200. The bungalows are ok but rather small and crammed full of furniture and decoration. The beds are just horrid, it's like sleeping on a wooden board and the pillows all had the smell of the previous occupants stuck in them. The aircon is noisy.
Locationwise - Tripadvisor's current location marker is wrong as the place nowhere near the beach - it has been stated before that the place is not in the center of Pattaya. You can take a baht bus and you're in the center in a few minutes so for me this was not a concern.
In the end I would not go there again as I find it way overpriced for what it is. You can find a similar arrangement for half the price - just without the garden.

The place may be great for couples, but definitely not child welcoming! We would have appreciated if the owner had helped us in finding a baby cot.. Breakfast is not worth the price and dont think that toothbrush and toothpaste are complimentary like anywhere else! you ll be overcharged fr that! Too bad, the place is awesome, a real gem. Lesson learnt: always ask before if the hotel is toddler friendly!

Altogether our trip to Pattaya was disappointing. The city is based around the coastline and although much of what we saw looked clean, the whole area close to the beaches and ferry is dirty, smelly and unpleasant. Unfortunately that is where La Prive is situated. The actual hotel makes a good first impression as the garden and pool are calm and peaceful after the unpleasant approach. The room also seems good on first sight, but in fact would really benefit from an update, as the furniture is old fashioned and every thing is a little scruffy. The shower is the worst we have used through out our travels as the hot water comes on and off so you freeze and scald. We were VERY disappointed by the breakfast. 160 baht is pricey for breakfast but to find that you have been charged an additional 120 baht for two small half cups of coffee which were offered, as refills, really is too much. After the first morning we went up the road for a very good and sensibly priced 99 baht buffet breakfast which was much better.

Wonderful little place, clean and close to everything. 10 baht per person to ride tuk tuk to anywhere on the walking street circuit. John Louis will take care of all your needs
I have no problem recommending this place to stay
If you are looking for modern 5 star then this is not for you. The rooms are dated but very clean

Arrived late at night on a Friday which was normally not possible, but the owner kindly waited up for us. Cozy and quiet little place, with only a few bungalows. Staff, other customers, owner: all very friendly. They were super friendly to our dog. Decoration of the rooms was a bit too classic for my taste, but some people may like it. Bit difficult to find with GPS as well, but these are minor drawbacks.

There are a number of reasons not to stay here. No. 1 is location. To get anywhere -- the beach, bars, shopping centers, grocery stores, espresso bars or decent restaurants -- you gotta walk back to the main road, wait for a baht bus, then take one you manage to flag down to wherever it is you're going. The other reasons to look elsewhere are: bad plumbing (couldn't get the toilet flushed each morning I was there), a lack of light in the rooms (perhaps it was only the room I was in, right next to the gate) and price (you're paying a lot for a pretty small room far from where you're going to be hanging out during the day).

But the place also has plenty of charm. The small yard was like my own tropical paradise. The pool is a really great one. I'm sure it would make for an awesome game of Marco Polo. I was only at Le Prive for three days, by myself, to decompress. But that pool made me wish I'd planned a big outing with a bunch of friends who still enjoy playing what is essentially a kids game. Still it felt great just to do some laps and splash around. And the breakfast patio, with the pool and lush grounds in front of it, makes for a great hangout.

But all in all, I regretted not being either right on the beach or right in the middle of town.
