I stayed at the Lek Hotel for two weeks so I can say that it is a good place if you're looking for good value. There are two wings to the property and you can get a decent room in the old wing for about $15 (bucks US). - Well worth it.

Also, the breakfast and dinner (all you can eat) buffet is great. The food is good: BBQ Pork Ribs, Beef Steaks, Chicken, Pork . . . you name it.

The hotel is located 1 block from the beach and about two - three blocks from the red light district.

I stayed at the Lek Hotel for three days in October 2005. I stayed in the Deluxe Room for b1800 a night. The value of this room is the extra space for guests and an excellent view of the pool. If you do not value those, I suggest going with the b1200 rooms in the New Wing. They are a particularly good deal.

The Lek had several attributes; great location in walking distance to the beach, near shopping centers, on the route of the baht bus, friendly and helpful staff and good clean rooms. There is also a good Thai/foot massage salon next door to help with weary bones and muscles.

I would definitely stay at the Lek again.

Well stayed in the Lek for 6 - 7 days in April, while I was travelling throughout Thailand.

A-lot of good points about this hotel. It cost me about 850 baht a night with is under £9. The minibar was always stocked up every day with a range of soft drinks and alcohol. The laundry service was very good and very cheap - although I wouldn’t trust them with expensive clothes because they tend to over iron things and can leave marks on clothes. The hotel is very well located and you can easily walk to and from the beach and shopping centre within 5 minutes. Also the taxi baht bus stops outside the hotel.

The hotel rooms are big, the air con works very well, the staff were very good also.

There will be a-few bar girls in the hotel 'visiting' some of the guests. And being as you will be in Pattaya the --- industry is everywhere so if you are not wanting this do not stay in Pattaya. Although Pattaya is a good play to stay if you want to do some island hopping day trips.

The negative side was the food. For breakfast you can have a buffet and to say it was terrible was a understatement. There were ants on the rice and most things were heavily undercooked or warmed up too many times. If you stay here do not eat the food! If you do you will suffer.

To conclude its a good hotel, def above average but stay away from the hotel food.

There is indeed a time limit, but who cares. Before you stands a feast of Thai dishes that are clean, delicious, and with great care! Chicken curry and pork and fish, and so many vegetables! The croissants are excellent! There is a heater that makes them so delicious with real butter and jam nearby. The English tea is excellent, and there is coffee as well with milk. I agree that the workers are not that friendly, but there are some really great people who work there and they are always used to sort of arrogant tourists yelling at them.

hi. even though my dates say feb i actually stayed here for 6 weeks in feb and march and came back in may for 3 more weeks.i paid approx £9 per ngt which is superb value.location was superb as were the rooms and staff.air con was fantastic and room service was of a high standard.must have the cheapest mini-bar in the world.the lek to me had only one let down and that was the standard of sun loungers and tables in the pool area.LEK hotel please re-new these.as said staff were very friendly and even telephoned such places as golf course and other hotels in thailand vietnam and cambodia for me.I shouldnt be doing this really as might not be able to get a room in the future if i bum this hotel up anymore.Go and enjoy.cheers.

I recently stayed here as some of my friends checked in here because they had safe parking for their cars. The rooms below par for the price.(my room smelled like old curry) The breakfast in the morning for 150. Baht- beside the fact that you can eat as much as you like- just not worth it. I checked in with my Thai Gf and when we return later that evening they wanted to see her ID.(which was upstairs) so after the guy at the front desk started shouting at us that she can not go to the room- i went upstairs to collect her ID. No apologies afterwards ... just the rude look.
Walk around the corner to The Flipper house. breakfast included. Rooms a lot nicer and price the same.

We went to thailand on a family holiday and have only been back a few days and just felt we had to give a review on this holiday. The hotel itself was lovely when you entered into it. The staff as all thai people were extremely friendly. As we had 2 boys one 14 and one 8 the pool was fantastic...They enjoyed every day. The alll you can eat breakfast was great especially as you could go down up until 13.00hrs. The evening meal was the same, choices of food unbelievable for the price. Would recommed the location also as it was so central.

I have stayed in this hotel many times over the past 20 years.
The best thing is the cental location. The pool is OK if you don't mind being surrounded by 500 windows looking down oin you. No complimentary breakfast even though they have a buffet - many similar hotel do give you a free breakfast.
Rooms in the old block are decent value for the price but could benefit from some refurbishment.
The rooms in the new block are bigger and better but you pay more for them. If you have a pool facing room you will have a balcony and catch the afternoon sun. But beware, these rooms also suffer the noise of the band in an adjacent bar from around 6:30 pm until midnight. No problem if you are out at that time but a pain if you want a quiet night in.
The staff can often be quite rude if you have any problems or questions. The customer doesn't come first in their view of things.

Do they charge for guests.most important is it safe to stay there at night
Answer from fransamsterdam2014

First guest is free. For two guests at the same time you will be charged 300 Baht. It is absolutely safe here at night. Guests have to leave their ID-card at reception, and if they want to leave without you and they ask for their ID-card, reception will make a phone call to your room and ask if everything is OK.
