Grand hotel can be considered at the best place if you are party lover and night life lover. it is located right between the Walking Street of Pattaya. The location is not only good because of walking street, it is extreamly near to Pattaya Beach and Pattaya Port. 7/11, Good Resturants, Street food, bike taxi and all other things are just at the hotel entrance. Coming to the Rooms, they provide a Huge LED TV i guess of 55 Inch in every room. Free Water bottles and welcome tea/coffe, Electric Water Kettle, A Regrigrator Fridge with all Soft drinks and energy Drinks (Paid). Washrooms are nice (No bath Tub) and balconies are good. They provide passport lockers. The higher Floors i guess 5 to 7 have Sea view rooms. they are a little expensive because of the seaview.
Overall an amazing place to stay.

Grand Hotel Pattaya is one of the best options for stay in Walking Street. This hotels provides sea view rooms and the view from Roof Top is amazing and gives complete view of Pattaya.
Rooms are clean and are a great deal in the price it is being offered in Post Covid era.
Ideal for people looking to party in Walking street and even few steps from Beach Road.

Grand Hotel Pattaya is located at Pattaya Beach with direct views of Pattaya beach from the hotel room.
The hotel is near Walking street and hence not recommended for family travelers as it can be both noisy as well as notorious while walking to this hotel from the tuk tuk drop off point.
The hotel is easily accessible during day time with private vehicle and during night when the street is closed you will have to walk 500 m from where your tuk tuk drops you.

Amenities:
1. The hotel has good amenities for the price paid like mini refrigerators(make sure what you use as anything except two complementary water bottles is chargeable), hairdryer, soap, shower gel, shampoo, hand towel as well as bathroom towels.
2. Breakfast is excellent with american as well as local options. Different jams/bread spreads juices tea coffee milk fruit salad etc is in their menu for breakfast.
3. Easy access to money changer/7eleven shops and tour operators at walking distance. There's also a taxi hire service exactly infront of hotel gate.
4. No issues while communicating with staff in english
5. In house fine dining restaurant that serves excellent breakfast.

Areas of improvement:
1. They don't provide tooth brush and toothpaste in the room.
2. If this has not surprised you enough then to note it further, they provide only one soap in the room even when the booking is for two adults.
3. Wifi sucked big time for uploading photos/videos but it was good while browsing facebook and flawless for whatsapp calls.
4. Key deposit of 500 baht is required at check-in and it is not a scam as they return the amount very easily at checkout.
5. The phone inside the room is rather an intercom and cannot be used to make local calls.
6. The guy at reception talked rude and loud to other guests (Asian) who had issues speaking english which didn't feel good to me.

As our tour guide was not coming we requested to use reception desk phone and he asked us 45 baht to make a local call.
Later we found that it costs 10 baht per minute for international call.
The nature of staff can be improved by showing some courteous smiles like the lady we met on the day of checkout.

Overall good experience as the room at 6th floor as a small balcony with wonderful view of Pattaya Beach and sunset.

Pro-tip:
1. When arriving from Bangkok, take bus from ekkamai/morchit bus station to pattaya bus stations for 106-130 thai baht/person and take shared tuk tuk ride directly till walking street for 50 baht per person.
2. Ask for higher floor room for breathtaking views

I visited in Grand Hotel with my friend in November 2013. We had Superior Seaview Double rooms. My first impression, as in any Walking Street hotels I have visited, was the location. You simply can’t beat that location. But unlike many Walking Street hotels that have kind of guest house type of feeling, Grand Hotel is an actual hotel with good room service and restaurant and with superb sun deck on roof top which gives you a perfect view over Pattaya Bay and Walking Street and Beach Road. You virtually see almost the whole Pattaya City from the roof. To me this was outstanding experiece since this was the highest hotel I have never been in Pattaya and I have never had such a good overall picture of Pattaya City.

To me, as funny it sounds, sun deck was the best part of the hotel experience. I have used to in Walking Street hotels kind of dungeon type of feeling when hotel has absolutely no outside area to cool down and take some sun to get nice tan, but the roof top was perfect for that purpose. To settle down after busy night and lay down and get some tan and fresh air and see superb view. View especially in the night time was glamorous with all neon lights in Walking Street and near areas.

General areas of hotel were nice and clean, maybe little bit dated but who really cares. Room was clean and ok, lacking of in-room safetybox was minor shortage although my friend got in-room safe in his room and he got same room type, weird. There were good safetyboxes in reception to cover up shortage of in-room safe so that was no issue for me. There could have been more storing space in room for clothes and other personal stuff, but that was also just a minor shortage. Wifi was extraordinary good comparing to any other hotel I have visited in Pattaya. Aircon was something I did not like too much since it was located just above bed so freezing cold air was coming directly to sleeping area. I kept aircon off during the night time when I was in sleep.

Room service was ok. Food, especially thai food was great. Some of the food items were bit of odd like American breakfast which did not match my image of American breakfast, but overall, the food was ok and sercvice was fast enough. Hotel had definately girl friendly policy which is always preferred option when I travel. There were a lot of Arabic clients who keep noise almost 24/7, but not too much noise to really disturb my sleep and on the other hand, noisy room neighbours are always better option that room neigbours who bang wall if you listen music too loud or have some bedroom activities going on if I’m asked. What comes to noise and was actually really disturbing was noise of live music coming outside the hotel. Some guy sang Scorpions and other 80’s hits ridiciously loud 5AM in the morning and even in head to toe drunk that noise was really disturbing.

Overall, great hotel experience and good value for the money. This will be my no 1 option for Walking Street hotels from now on. And what comes to rudeness of hotel staff someone wrote about here, well I guess you get what you give. To me friendliness of the staff was no worse that any other hotel I have been. Some of guys in reception in night time maybe lack little bit enthusiasm, but it is the same in any other hotel and I still would not call them rude.

Pros: Location, sun deck, price, view, wifi, room service, girl friendly policy
Cons: Faulty located aircon, retro TV without hdmi input, no in-room safe, leaving passports to reception for hours while checking in instead of simply taking quick copies of passports for check in information

The Location is perfect if you want to be close to the nightlife.
The room is big and comfortable, so is the bed. The bathroom is pretty modern, with a wall and a curtain separating the shower from the rest of the bathroom. They changed the towels every day.
The staff in the reception is very nice, helpfull, and they speak very good English. There is a nice view of the city from the roof terrace.
Cheaper rooms on floors 1-4 have a view only on the surrounding shops and roofs. I stayed on the 1st floor and I didn't mind. The windows pretty much keep the noise away from the room, but light sleepers should maybe choose a different location.
The breakfast was ok, Nothing fancy. For 1200 baht a night this was the Best deal i could find at that time in this Location.
Would stay again if I ever went back to Pattaya, which doesn't seem likely ;)

The Grand Hotel is right in the middle of all the action. Great view. Comfortable room. Nice staff of course. Seems like this hotel caters to couples more than solo travels, because of the limited room selections. I believe the rooms may be a bit overpriced, but overall I enjoyed my stay. It was quiet, comfortable and relaxing.

The grand is a classic asian 4-star-ish hotels, that offers very comfortable, spacious rooms with working aircon and hot water. The rooms on the lower floor have no real view, just over the roof of a building below, or onto a blind wall on the side.

All guests have access to the 10th floor however, where you get a great view of pattaya and can use one of the provided seats or recliners. Especially around sunset this would be something to recommend since the building is tall enough to overlook any other nearby.

The staff are all very friendly and welcoming. A deposit for the fee of one night stay is required, but can be paid both in bath and with creditcard (without a percentage fee added on top, well done!). Beyond that there is no hassle at all about the cost and you can just pay when you check out.

The rooms are very spacious, and fresh linnen and towels are provided on a daily basis, as well as cleaning service. This makes the concrete building very pleasant to stay in - it may be quite old but is comfortable and clean at all times.

Rooms come with a rain/waterfall shower, which is nice, but not ideal if you are over 6 feet tall. Also, the rooms are remarkably quiet at night, provided that the hotel is located so close to walking street with its all night music and bustle. King size beds are provided with comfortable matresses and clean, quality linnen.

The hotel is located about 20 meters into a side street off walking street. Coming from beach road, you will find it on your left hand side. There is a round, green, unlit sign stating "Grand", which can be easily overlooked. The side street is about 50 meters into walking street, which means you will have to walk there from beach road after 7 pm since walking street is closed to cars after that time. During daytime there is no problem to have a taxi or such stop right in front of the door.

Clean, Spacious, Friendly Staff.
Very reasonable price for the 4 days we stayed. You cannot ask for better location. It is not super luxury but very clean and staff understand english enough to be very helpful. I have read the reviews here about the hotel and I can say it is really a single mans hotel. The breakfast i found plentiful, the waitress and waiter were extra extra helpful. The concierge were assistive and helpful. Internet is free and works in room and in lobby (different passwords for both). The only downside is the drainage in shower. it floods the bathroom and took a while to disappear.
There is safety deposit box in room and at reception. I felt 100% safe in this hotel with my belongings and the maids were always visible and I left small items out as a test and nothing went missing. Music plays until 5 a.m. in walking street, but it is very mute and i quite enjoyed it. I will stay here again as it is so close to everything.

Having read good reviews about this hotel on tripadvisor, I decided to give it a try for a short stay – 2 nights. Here’s my account:

RESERVATION
Made online reservation directly through the hotel’s website http://www.grandhotelpattaya.com/. The reservation system is managed by a company named WideDiscovery.com. This company receives online reservations, checks details, confirms availability with the hotel and then confirms the reservations to the customers. Very prompt service, I booked at 9 pm and by 10 am the next day, the reservation confirmation was in my inbox. In case of any amendments to the reservation the same company does the job. Very prompt service again, easily reachable over phone with English speaking customer service. I simply called to verify the reservation and was impressed by the service. Please make a note of theirs contact and working times, all such information will be in the email.
WideDiscovery.com will charge a deposit of 10% of the entire stay amount, based on room rates (in other words hotel's commission to the company) which will be deducted from your bank at the time of reservation. The remaining will have to be paid at the time of check-in (refer photo1). Payment is accepted in THB or Cards. Please note a refundable 1000THB will be included in the remaining payable balance at the time of check-in. Please ensure you retain the receipt to claim back the refundable deposit. Even if you pay the balance with Card, they will refund the amount in THB cash.

ARRIVAL
[ Reference: check out bell travel service for commuting between Airport to Pattaya, direct drop a hotel available , booking on internet is 30BHT cheap www.belltravelservice.com]
I and my friend arrived t the hotel at 10.45 hrs. We had two separate Superior Twin/Double rooms. We were greeted well by the receptionist and got our rooms instantly. Now that’s a relief after 9 hrs of travel time. Our rooms were on the first floor. We even bought pack of 6 *1Litre water bottles from the hotel reception @ 40THB. This is available in the 7/11 (24 hrs supermarkets in thailand) for approx 35THB. The receptionist was very polite and friendly; they informed us of all details regarding room deposit & breakfast timings. Local calls (in & around Pattaya) could be made for 45THB for 3 minutes from the reception, international calls charge vary depending on countries…however, minimum being 310THB for 3 minutes.

ROOMS
At check-in 1000THB, refundable, is charged per reservation, regardless of no. of rooms you have booked. This is returned at Check-out. Remember this !!
We had reserved the Superior Twin (Twin or double-bed choice) @ 1290THB per room per night. Awesome was the first word in our minds. Tidy and spotless. Well made bed, clean tables, no infestation or stains or patches on the walls/floors/table/bedsheets/mirrors/cushions . The room had a TV(49 channels) , Tea/ Coffee making facility, full sized fridge with a variety of drinks, a locker and closet. We had a small balcony to our room, almost all rooms in the hotel has balconies. All rooms are smoking. The Aircon was an independent unit and I could turn on/off at my will, it worked very well. The rooms were very well soundproof too. Wireless internet is weak in rooms but consistent…of course its FREE. The login and password for internet is pasted on the room key which I found was convenient. It was mainly the cleanliness that got us impressed.

BED & BATHROOM
Now these are both important to me … for obvious reasons!! Pillows were firm & soft. The bedsheet and duvet were clean and did not smell foul. Overall comfortable. The attached bathroom was very clean, the towels fresh and tidy, hot and cold water from the shower 24 hrs and excellent exhaust.

BREAKFAST
Timings are from 7.30 hrs to 11.30 hrs. The breakfast is usually included in the room tariff, unless otherwise mentioned , you can see this during reservation stage. In low seasons, I believe the hotel does not do buffet in low seasons but have a variety of fixed combos to select from e.g. my combo was - toast with butter and marmalade, scrabbled eggs, bacon*1, chicken sausage*1, pork, salad, cornflakes, pineapples & watermelon, a glass of milk+apple juice+orange juice. Taste: OK, Quality: fresh and good, Quantity: enough for one.

OTHERS
The hotel is guest friendly, no extra charge for bringing guests.
Location is right in the middle of walking street, excellent !!! . From our balcony we spent good time in people-watching while having beer.
Then there are tattoo studio, salon, food-joints, 7/11's, Taxi to Suvarnabhumi airport, plethora of motorbike taxis at the hotel entrance, Go-Go bars, variety of entertainment venues in walking street.....or whatever holds your fancy ....all within minutes of walk outside the hotel.
There is a small bar in the hotel but hey ! you are in the middle of the Walking street why drink here !!

FINALE:
No hassles, much higher value for money than you expect ….. go for it……you will enjoy the stay.

So, i recently stayed here in a room which provides an ocean view. One must book a room with the ocean view here. The location of the place is fantastic, however, the hotel is in the lane whr no taxi or car will drop you at the door step of the hotel. One will have to walk with your luggage for abt 5-8 mins from the White Inn hotel entrance which is closer to the hotel than entering from the walking street..its a longer walk frm the walking street. You better have internet with you to get to the hotel as most of the local ppl dont knw or cannot understand english.
Walking street is the hip and happening place in the night for all the party animals! The street is LIT n alive AF in the night and whole night there is music playing and ppl r on the street chilling. I personally did not like the walking street but i loved the view frm the hotel's balcony!!
There are a lot of indian restaurants near this hotel but I would personally recommend Kohinoor or Punjabi tadka which is literally 15-20 mins away from the hotel on the main road once you get out from the White Inn hotel side. The food at Kohinoor is good and the ambience too!
Another positive thing abt this hotel is that the beach is at a walking distance and there are ferries to get to Koh Larn island. This island has a lot of beaches and it is nt really crowded. I had been to Tawaen beach. The ferry costs abt 30/40 baht one way and it takes abt 45 mins to Koh Larn island. Once you land at the island you can take a call, whr you wish to go or plan your day a prior night.
Now, for all those who are visiting thailand for the first time be careful of your safety and your bags espcly at the walking street. And if you wish to travel locally, plz take the shuttle van wherein there are a lot of ppl sitting and the van takes you arnd the town. Please bargain with these drivers as much as you can. During the weekend, the charges go high bt you can still bargain if you are good at it. These Shuttle vans will also drop you at the bus stop to tk the bus which goes to bangkok airport (suvarnabhumi). You may get one from the main road whr White Inn Hotel is located. Plz note the charges frm this hotel to the bus stop shud not cost you more than 20/30 baht.

I hope all the information was helpful. Enjoy the view and the stay!
