I completed the YTT300 course in June and I really loved my training, my stay, the place, the quality of the food, and the kindness of the staff. I had the chance to take this course with an extraordinary group from all over the world. It was an unforgettable experience that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to further their yoga teacher training. I loved the classes taught by our various instructors, each of whom had their own specialty. The teaching is diverse and of high quality.
I had heard good feedback about Vikasa and wanted to do this 300-hour training in a seaside location where I could swim and also have a certain level of comfort during my 5 weeks of training. I was very satisfied with their services. I also want to mention that the food offered at the Vikasa Café is very healthy and delicious.

I've done 3 YTTs in my life so far. 1 in Europe (Germany) 1 on Koh Phangan and now 1 here on Koh Samui at Vikasa. I teach a lot myself, travel full time around the planet and see a lot. Compared to the previous YTTs I took and the standard of teachers I saw around the world Vikasa is really outstanding.
When I take a YTT it's not that much of a vacation to me, it's about learning. Therefore it's most important to me that the teachers are great. Vikasa offers 5 different head teachers supported by 4 assistances. All teachers have their own unique style of teaching and present different parts of the YTT correlated to their talents and strength.
Outstanding to me were the physical classes with Rama, the pranayama sessions with Kosta and the experiences with Nikki. The Schedule also covered some really interesting parts such as yoga biz (online and offline) as well as excursions to a waterfall and a sadhana beach day.
For the vacation aspect: The location of Vikasa is ideal to just disappear for a while in a yoga bubble. The venues are ideal (ac/fan/open sala etc.). The pool is famous for stunning sunrise pictures. The food at the life cafe is also great.
I stayed the 5 weeks with my partner and we had one of the Lotus pad bungalows next to the pool. You are surrounded by nature and I slept like a baby. The staff cleaned the room once per day and everyone around the entire place was super friendly and helpful.
We had our graduation party on a boat which is another extraordinary point. I never had such a fun graduation event.
If I'm about to recommend someone to take a YTT, it will be here at Vikasa.
Thanks to the team, the teachers and the founders for building this beautiful place that brings so much growth and help to thousands of yogi.
I enjoyed my stay a lot and I'll be back for sure!
Namste :)

One of the best holidays I have had. Starting with the stunning ocean views as you walk in, to the level of service at both the front desk (especially Fatima) and the restaurant all the way to the yoga classes.
All the yoga teachers were excellent (particularly Banks and Michael) and all follow a similar style of Hatha yoga for all levels. Classes generally start with breath work/meditation and follow on to the practise. Highly recommend the morning (7am) class in the white Shala (roof tent which allows you to fully take in the view and the sound of the ocean). There were only 2 and occasionally 3 yoga classes a day but I was told they are looking to increase this shortly.
The rooms are clean (I stayed in a lotus pad), spacious and the beds comfortable. If you stay at the resort brunch and dinner are included. I love meat and was surprised that the vegetarian menu was excellent. Occasionally for dinner there would be some fish. If you really can’t survive without meat you can order (at an additional charge) from the a la carte menu.
I would definitely go back here and would recommend booking well in advance as it does get super busy.
If it is busy you can book the Merit next door and then pay to use Vikassa’s facilities/classes etc.

Vikasa view is beautiful and a perfect location. However the customer care is poor. I was double booked on my first night and was not refunded the full amount as they charged me for sharing a twin room which I did not use!!!!! That someone else had paid a solo occupancy for!!!’ As it was their error I’m at a loss as to how they can charge for room I did not use! Plus they didn’t even talk to me until the last day despite attempts to speak to Vicky the events manager.

Whether you are here for a vikasion, a retreat, a YTT or just want to experience some yoga - do it! This place is truly magical, transformative and set up to make you feel as part of a loving community. The YTT teachers are phenomenal in every way, true professionals who teach with technique, knowledge and real interest in you developing as a person. The Salas, the rooms, all of the staff are incredible and always meet you with a smile. The life cafe caters to all guests (breakfast/snack/dinner) and has a very well thought out, healthy, vegetarian and non vegetarian menu designed by an amazing chef. Watch out for the vegan treats and the smoothies, you just might get addicted. I would recommend Vikasa to anyone, traveling alone, with family or as a couple, friend group. You’ll make friends so quickly, you won’t even realize. I just extended my stay & will be coming back for sure.

The only bad thing about this place is that you’ll never want to leave.
Truly, this is one of my favorite places I’ve ever been to and we are very seasoned travelers around the world.
There is something so special and magical about this place you have to experience to truly understand it.
I came here for my 200hr YTT training and all I can say is that it is one of the most transformative experiences I’ve ever done in my life. You do SO much more than yoga in this training… you find yourself and transform in the process.
I was so nervous coming here, but the way that Nikki, Michael and Mikey take you through the training, help you gain confidence, and create a safe space to open up, learn, connect, and express is unlike any other place I’ve been.
A Waterfall hike and graduation party on the boat are included in the teacher training and just make that much more amazing.
Whether or not you’re a beginner yogi, want to deepen your practice, or want to teach yoga, I can’t recommend this teacher training enough. They have created a rock solid system that helps you deepen your yoga practice and build your confidence as a teacher if that’s something you wish to do.
Not only do you get world class training but also get to do it in the most beautiful place on the entire island. The views, the food, the staff, the infinity pool, the yoga classes, the housekeeping is ALL amazing.
If you do decide to do a teacher training here I absolutely recommend extending your stay afterwards. You’re not going to want to leave.

Good, not so good and downright ugly Good- amazing views and fabulous food in the cafe, Michael’s manner and class, going bath Not so good- over 100 steps to our room and we were only half way down the cliff and restaurant is at the top, Downright ugly- the resort is split into 2 sections and there is another resort between them where there is a lot of construction work going on. The main yoga studio is in the construction site and therefore disturbed by noise, hearing circular saws and angle grinders during savasna is not what I expected. There is no mention of this on the website or when booking yet it’s clearly been going on a while has there is tons more to do. When I queried it with the customer service staff I was told it is up to me to block out the noise, just plain patronising and insulting!! We found mouse droppings in our room and bathroom after it had been “cleaned”. Despite my friend advising yoga teachers of an injury no help, adjustments or support was given to her during classes. Kara in particular was not interested in helping her class despite also being the customer experience person. We raised all our issues with staff on a number of occasions but they chose to not discuss or compensate us.
So I’d advise to only go if you can book Michael’s class and want some good food with a view. The stay is very over priced and atmosphere definitely yoga elitist. Such a shame.

I stayed at Vikasa in January 2022 while doing a YTT (yoga teacher training). Vikasa had just re-opened after covid19, and I was meet by the most heartfelt, warm, kind, caring and genuine staff. I stayed in a "yoga cave", which is a private room with shared bath facilities. The room has A/C, a comfy bed, a desk, chair, mirror, hair dryer, robe, slippers, towels, a rack for close, a mini fridge and a big balcony with the most breathtaking view over the ocean. Both my room and the bath facilities was tidied up and cleaned daily, and the service was impeccable. I ate my meals at the Vikasa Life Café, which every day exceeded my expectations with their cooking. If you are a foodie, do not miss out on this café (which also is a great place to sit with your laptop and work while having the stunning view over the ocean). Vikasa offers several yoga classes during the day, and the yoga teachers are some of the best teachers, I have ever come across. They really walk their talk, and meet you whereever you are in your practise. All in all, whether you wish to relax by the pool or the beach surrounded by the most beautiful nature, have a massage, do yoga, or hang out in the café and eat delicious food, Vikasa is your place. It feels like home away from home, and I am definitely coming back. Vikasa has my highest recommendations.

A stunning location that overlooks the ocean. There’s a lot to like about Vikasa. I really enjoyed the 12 day yoga retreat I took and was surrounded by like minded individuals who were all incredible in their own individual way. The Vikasa staff were very accommodating and the scenery was exceptional. The cafe was also really good, I’m deducting one star from the rating as the buffet option was very repetitive (but still outstanding) and I would like a bit more variety over a prolonged stay. Would highly recommend!

Thank you to the entire Vikasa team for this exceptional stay. Everything was perfect ! The yoga classes are really, really good. It's worth getting up at 07:00 for the full Vikasa and don't miss the night meditation sessions with Svetlana. Gong and Shakuachi. The restaurant focuses on the quality of the products and originality and the staff is always kind and attentive. The clientele is varied and it is a welcoming place to meet solo travelers, beginners or experienced (in yoga) in a relaxed manner. In short, a very nice discovery. Indulge !

Hi Natalee,
Yes, you will need an adapter coming from Canada. Thailand operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz. You can purchase adapters here or an electronic store at home should have one for you.

Lots of young hipsters roaming around but not enough to steer you away. If you’re doing in yoga in your 60’s you’re way hipper than any hipster anyway. Go there - you’ll love it! Sorry it took so long to respond... cheers JC
