During my recent stay at this centrally located hotel, I was thoroughly impressed by not just its prime location right in the heart of the city but also by the high standards of cleanliness maintained throughout the property. An added perk that I particularly enjoyed was the complimentary coffee available every morning from 7 AM to 10 AM. It was a small but thoughtful gesture that made my mornings even more delightful. The coffee itself was delicious, providing the perfect start to my day. The hotel's location could not be more convenient. Nestled in the city centre, it is within walking distance to all the major attractions in the old city. This made it incredibly easy to explore the area without the need for public transport or taxis. The vicinity of the hotel is bustling with life, offering a wide array of breakfast places and cafes, which meant I was never short of options for dining out. I would highly recommend it to travelers seeking comfort, convenience, and a taste of the local hospitality.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 5 nights (extended from 4) for the first leg of of our trip, and couldn’t recommend a better place to stay.

The staff were all so friendly, they printed our boarding passes, arranged taxis and helped us extended our stay with the cheapest options. The cleaning team were always on hand around the hotel and left bags with water, refreshments and toiletries on the door if the do not disturb sign was on.

The hotel amenities themselves were excellent, the pool with planted living wall was what drew me to the hotel originally and looked even better in person, the perfect place to rest after hot afternoons and recover from jet lag. The rooms provided a safety deposit box, tv with nextflix, YouTube and prime and the air conditioning cooled the room within seconds.

Safe, friendly and an ideal location - overall a fantastic stay and would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Chiang-Mai! Thank you so much!

The perfect location for exploring Chiang Mai. Considering the price and star rating, the stay was great. The room was fairly clean and compact, with friendly reception and cleaning staff. Most importantly, it was in a fantastic central location for walking around Chiang Mai. They even have a good-sized pool to cool off, which was a nice feature given the location. Although breakfast is not provided, there is a complimentary coffee machine available in the morning. Additionally, there are plenty of nearby cafes to grab breakfast before starting your day.

This hotel is perfectly located in the Old Town, right on the road where the Sunday Night Market takes place. The rooms are lovely, spacious and clean and the staff are so helpful. The air conditioning in the room is good.

The pool area is great and the pool itself is really nice. Would highly recommend! Only thing I would say is to request a room at the back of the hotel away from the road if you are a light sleeper as it can be quite noisy, but this didn’t bother us at all and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching everything go on.

We will definitely be back to Moon Dragon when we come back to Chiang Mai!

I rated this a 3 because it is not luxury it is just a nice clean hotel in a great location. It has a nice pool and sitting area on the street. The beds were so comfortable. Coffee included in the morning. Would have been nice to have juice or fruit available to purchase when the mango stand next store is closed. Although a short walk away you can find this. The staff was great very helpful and informative. This hotel was a great value and would stay again.

I stayed at this hotel because I was on a Study Abroad in Thailand! We got to this hotel past midnight and the worker at the front desk was extremely accommodating and checked us in quickly after we had a long travel day. Additionally, the next day we wanted to get a Tuk Tuk to the mall and the lady at the front desk came outside and helped give the address to the Tuk Tuk driver on to where we wanted to go! Very nice and helpful.

I spent 4 nights in this hotel and absolutely loved every moment of my stay.

Why? Firstly, the location is fantastic. The hotel is location on the main street of the old city and within walking distance to almost everything in the old city including attractions and restaurants. just be aware that there is no parking and no driveway so dropping off on arrival may be a tad inconvenient but it's no big issue and the staff is quick to help you with your luggage.

I love the vibe of the hotel. It isn't a big hotel but it is very nicely set up. My room was clean, nice and new. The fridge in the room is one of the biggest I have ever come across. It is good for storing drinks and fruits. I never have to worry about not having space. I love the bed and the fact that you can see the room from the bathroom. There is even a rack to hang my clothes. How good is that!?

I had a room on the higher floor and I thought it might be noisy but to my surprise it was quiet every night although i did not stay through the weekend. That is when the weekend market occurs.

Breakfast was included in my room. there is no restaurant in the hotel but the staff set up tables nicely around the pool in the morning giving it a great ambience. Although there aren't a lot of choices there are fruits, cereals, pastry and juices to choose from. The best thing is the cooked to order breakfast. There are great choices and they were well prepared.

I used the pool a few times. It is big enough to do laps. I found it very relaxing swimming and looking up at the plants growing around the walls. The pool is a bit cold thought because it is mostly in the shade because of the walls. Great for a hot day.

Lastly I cannot thank the staff enough. They are all so friendly especially the staff on the reception and the ones attending to breakfast.

I really love this hotel and would definitely come back to stay without a second thought.

I stayed at the Moon Dragon Hotel for 6 nights over New Year. I’ve been to Chiang Mai before and stayed close to the night bazaar last time. I knew I wanted to be inside the Old City this time and Moon Dragon was perfect. It’s right on Sunday Walking Street and very close to many other attractions. Check in was simple and efficient. My room was spacious and serviced at the same time each day. Other reviews say to ask for a room to the rear of the hotel due to street noise. Fortunately my room was here anyway and on the third floor and My room also had a balcony overlooking the pool. This was a nice feature as there only appear to be four rooms that have a balcony. Breakfast included a small range of western and Asian options. It was simple but more than good enough for me. Breakfast is set up each morning on the ground floor right next to the pool. If you’re a light sleeper I would suggest asking for a room on a higher floor as breakfast set could potentially be noisy. I am an easy going guest and found Moon Dragon Hotel to be perfect for my needs. I would stay here again.

Attentive staff, comfortable beds, clean hotel/rooms, good shower, daily top up of water bottles. We booked this hotel because of the value for money and its great location. We did a 2 day jungle tour and were comfortable leaving our belongings there while we were away.

Only negative is the room had a window which looked out onto a very close wall, so it didn’t really feel like you had natural daylight but we were out of the room 90% of the time so it didn’t bother us.

The street-side rooms here sound exactly as if you were trying to sleep on the sidewalk. Even totally normal non-loud cars/pedestrians are perfectly audible through the thin windows/walls.

All of the normal rooms are on this street side. Every single room not directly on the street is an upgrade and costs more.

We were eventually moved to one of the upgrades, and the staff were very helpful with some other, unrelated matters, so I'd call the service level good. Other things like the breakfast, location, and rooms themselves were very good as well. Just be prepared to pay more money if you don't want one of the loudest rooms ever.

As far as I am aware the Penthouse does have two bedrooms but has one double and one single. it has a balcony. Their executive suite looks very similar and has two double bedrooms. Try checking out Agoda's site for details and photos.
